  1. A buddy just got an 08 Gallardo Spyder. Everything works fine except these two oddities. 1. The menu scrolling on the radio menus seems to be backwards. Turning the knob clockwise goes up in the menu, turning counter clockwise goes down in menus? This is counter intuitive from all other scrolling I have ever seen. 2. Most importantly, the radio stays on once you turn the car off and even open the door to get out. We even tried arming the alarm and it still stays on. We can hit the power button for a second which turns the screen off, but then the second you tab the power button, the stereo comes right back up so quickly, we don't feel like it is really turning off. This appears to be causing a power drain and causing the battery to die. Can anyone help? Thanks!
  2. Fred just posted over in Ferrari chat calling us all kids and liars... Roy, u might get on there and share your info too. Your credibility always helps. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=352794
  3. No, no idea where he is. He won't return any form of communication.
  4. I heard more info just a few hours ago... supposedly there were 2 separate guys in the Utah area. They each bought separate cars from this guy, paid in full... didn't get cars or title. approx 450k total. Also, a guy from ferrarichat is saying that his car was there on consignment, he heard these rumors and went over there.... car is gone.
  5. Just got more news confirmed. A guy had his 599 there on consignment. Bellagio supposedly sold the car. Bellagio requested clear title from the owner. Owner sent clear title to Bellagio. Owner got NO money. Owner is out approx 160k. Farhad is out of control and needs to be STOPPED.
  6. If ANY of you are members of other car sights, PLEASE spread the word. I am trying, but I just cannot join all the sights. I don't want this thief to get anyone else's money!!
  7. I undertand your feelings on doing it in person. Just hasn't been worth the hassle and I always felt up until now that these people were all reputable. I have bought my last two exotics sight unseen... of course, my buddy gets nailed on his FIRST.
  8. Ok, well farhads lawyer appears to basically know nothing and supposedly cannot get into contact with Farhad. FBI is unaware of anything in regards to the deal. Local law enforcement is supposedly involved because of the guy making some complaint about his personal security or something ( gee, imagine that. Steal a bunch of money and not feel safe) Wish I could find these other guys that supposedly have bought or paid into the dealership but haven't received the cars or title. Anyone have any further contacts they might be able to offer?
  9. I wonder what it would take for AMEX to allow me to pay in full wtih my card for safety. Other issue is that everyone always wants to recoup the damn 3% or whatever.
  10. Agreed. There are lots of theses types in LA and surrounding areas. I've had bad issues from just being too drunk at a bar... I can't imagine the fear I would have if I knew that some hard, pipe-hitting n***** to go to work on the homes here with a pair of pliers and a blow torch. were looking for myself or more importantly my family.
  11. I am ALL for this. I figure that if some of these stories of shit are true, that old Farhad may have a lot of visitors calling on him soon. I have been able to find 2 residences linked to him. I have also found his family. The internet can be a very bad place to be if you have enemies. Awful hard to hide.
  12. My buddy did all of this except a MUCH larger deposit and item #4. Clearly, number 6 didnt and isnt happening.
  13. On a side note, and not to distract from the info we are sharing in regards to this Bellagio disaster... what exactly is the safest and best protocol for a car transaction. I typically have always sent in a large payment, if not full payment, at which point I am told that the car is 'in transit'. Again, that part could be a total lie by any selling dealer. For the people that pay cash and don't necessarily deal with a bank, this is just a reason to better educate yourselves and watch your arse. I've always assumed I am dealing with a higher caliber of person when it comes to exotics, but increasingly, that isn't the case.
  14. I have to admit, I do agree. I wish I would have been consulted on that part and I would have prevented that. It was going to be his first exotic and he was just excited. He had no reason to expect the deal to not be legitimate. I also think he wanted to do everything as best he could in good faith from his side. That being said, clearly, lesson learned... but I really hope for him that this can get handled and the money will be returned. I also think the lesson we have all learned here too, is to be VERY careful and not necesarily whole-heartedly trust someone because they are a dealer.
