  1. Pretty much. If you certainly wouldnt buy a "cheap" 12 year old supercar unless I had ample cash to deal with issues. Have to agree with "you can't afford it" treat it as a goal, hustle, save, put your savings to work. In the meantime buy something cheap, like a CPO Jeep or Asian brand(think toyota, not lexus). You can get into a smartcar lease for $50-60/month after rebates and credits.
  2. Mean exactly what it says. Pick up a nail in a tire or two? Need to replace multiple at 3-500 each. Egear issues (correct me if I am off guys) would say its 8-12k+. Engine issue? Grab your ankles. Take the 10k and either invest and make it work for you. If you must buy a car, with a 10k deposit I wouldnt look at anything over 50kish and get CPO or warranty. Or do the smart thing and buy something cheap so you can save money for the future.
  3. I can't provide for the Murci but my insurance on a '14 lp560 is about 4k/yr(early 30's clean record except for 1 ticket). have averaged 2k/yr on maintenance/etc but a couple warranty items covered by lambo. If I were to buy that car wouldn't be comfortable unless I had a 20-30k shit happens fund. Purely estimated, don't know what the major failure points for the murcielago are.
  4. Aren't we all? =) And tell me that gated shifter isnt a work of art. You can't because it is
  5. I drive a 560-2. See a rear wing on that car? Other more reasonable explanation is I live in San Diego and know the car. Also if you fullscreen the vid and change it to HD you can see the sticker in the windshield My car;
  6. That F12TDF looks awesome but wish you the best on your upcoming bull. All that matters is the smiles these wonderful machines produce.
  7. I beg to differ on the GT2RS as I have relationships and a set very low allocation number at a high volume dealer. Have been on that allocation list for over a year. Only way I don't get it is either full change in dealership management, existing policy or Porsche only makes 100ish cars. You are right I don't know how good it will be. Time will tell but would bet money if they do it like they did the GT4 should be an epic ride. Worst case I sell it with a couple thousand miles on for 150% what I paid like all frakkin GT Porsches that have come out in last 10 years. I understand the dynamics as to why all exotic marques and all makers in general are doing what they are doing.... Doesn't mean that and delivering the experience a hardcore group are looking for is mutually exclusive. Lambo(or anyone) could easily make their standard volume sales models and then release small numbers of special edition (manual, rwd, raw, light) cars to satiate the hardcore group. These don't have to be Sesto Elemento caliber editions. Just take the H, strip weight, add a stick... existing LP5XX box should work, RWD, flare rear end and some programming. Tell me you dont think they would all be sold overnight at a premium. And how is that in any way a detriment to Lamborghini? Shows they care about their customers and understand them on both sides of the fence. Not doubting cars will continue to get more and more disconnected in the race for more speed and faster Ring times. I just think it is sad that the man-machine dynamic will be lost. And are fast cars fun? Obviously. I realize nannies are a reality but that doesnt mean a car has to be so easy to drive fast it loses its soul. GTR is an example of a fast car that weighs as much as a house but through tech wizardry performs. Personally I would never own one. I want to go fast, not riding shotgun with a computer driving. I have no issue with Lambo moving forward and becoming a more successful Marque. I just hope they do so without losing what their guiding principles have been. Again I dont think its a binary choice. To the Aventador, as stated I don't have much real world experience. Take your word for it. Car looks amazing and people I know who have them are generally very happy. Doesn't mean I wouldn't want to have a go at a manual RWD Vent. For me they are just too big, prefer smaller and more nimble To your CGT Driver neg suits, I would happily sign a waiver saying essentially "yes I realize cars are dangerous and this one will especially fcuk you up if you treat it badly". I agree the average joe can't handle these cars raw. I am no Balboni myself and not advocating a street legal race car. I just want some feeling, emotion and stakes. I'm a big boy and will live with my decisions. Josh ps- I am enjoying the debate and jealous of your CGT
  8. I actually never thought about it from that angle but makes sense. Still doesn't excuse significant qa/qc issues on the Vent for 500k. No doubt all are cool cars. Variety is the spice of life
  9. I am actually a magical being from another dimension with a penchant for high end sportscars.
  10. I am going to do the winter academy one of these years. Cant go to the one in Feb as my sister is giving birth to her first child and have some business commitments. Did anyone go to the last Thermal Club Lambo Experience? Woukd have been late 2015.
  11. Absolutely they get credit for keeping the NA engine. Although I am not a NA purist it still gives points from my perspective. Still I wouldn't cry if they built an FA car that drove like an FA car should. Too many manufacturers are trying to make turbo cars drive like NA cars, IMO. If I buy a turbo I want that feeling of rushing to boost. I recently wrote a long note to Porsche about the manual transmission and their brand (specifically related to upcoming GT2RS), post script was "... please make the car a bit scary and don't dial out all the turbo lag =)" The VF supercharger looks interesting but will probably never do it for two reasons 1. The kit is basically a 5k kit with a huge lambo tax on it. 2. My car is a special edition and dont want to screw with it too much over stock(this is also the reason I personally wouldn't do a stage 1 UGR). May change my mind in future as a couple hundred extra hp/tq would be nice but enjoying the car as is for the moment.
  12. CGT and FGT are on my goal list. If you (or anyone else) is local to socal would love to meet up sometime. Just a ride would be great. Even without those I always love meeting enthusiasts. Pm me anyone local. I am in San Diego but in OC-LA quite a bit for business. Good post
  13. I hope your predictions are true. Fender flares, 335's and rwd would be a killer ride. Still doesnt give me my gated shifter fix. Would definitely consider. Just pray they resurrect the manual. Understand take rate on manual is 1/100 cars but keeping it says a lot about the Marques relationship with consumers. I would actually pay more for a manual instead of dct. Issue on H is interior wasnt built to accomodate a stick. As stated its these special edition "drivers cars" that push to the enthusiast crown. Can guarantee if lambo did run of 30-50ish rwd SL cars in manual the dealerships couldn't sell fast enough. I would seriously look at an LP6XX-2 SL in manual weighing 3000-3100. Likely would deposit for early car. How epic would that be? Otherwise Im going porsche it looks. Or just keep mine. That GT2RS is gonna be bananas. Rumors are 3000 pounds, 700hp thrbo, rwd. Manual is still in debate.
  14. I may agree lambos can be naturally understeering but weight balance isnt that off in my car but havent checked other models in detail. Think 45/55% but gonna put her on scales soon . Also recall press conferences where they said they purposely built in understeer. Why would they do this? For me and most people I know understeer is zero fun. Hanging the tail out total fun. Nothing like some killer power oversteer imo. Wasn't saying you couldnt drive a car that leans to pushing fast, just that its boring and personally makes me ill.
