Damn u know what? I was gonna jump ship to get the 720S Spider I just knew if I see SVJ Roadster driven by I'm gonna wish and drool for sure,,,,,now the real question is it worth it to get the 63 SVJ Roadster or the regular SVJ ROADSTER LOL
You couldn't pay me to trade the SVJ for a 720S LOL. The 720 is FAST, but the SVJ...well... its just a million times more fun. The looks, the sound, the excitement, the performance. Oh man, it's the only way to go.
I have a hard time justifying the extra $$$ for the 63 editions. Limited- yes. Worth the price of admission- I don't believe so. Too bad there wasn't something drastically different with the 63 compared to the "regular" (LOL) SVJ.
Every mile gets better and better. Just got back from a drive, and I am smiling from ear to ear.

SVJ vs SV. The SVJ is the complete package. I absolutely love the car and have zero complaints. All the flare, the power, the presence of an Aventador, along with the handling characteristics of a tiny little Porsche. The car is a BEAST. It just sticks and sticks and sticks. The harder you push it in the turns, the more the car turns. It's an incredible sensation. I can only imagine if it was running R compound tires!
The SV is so good, but the J takes it to a completely different level. In some ways more refined, in other ways more raw. I do miss the crackles and pops from the SV exhaust. The exhaust tone of the SVJ is remarkably different, and does let out a whip/snap of a crackle at times during decel. This is the first car I havent rushed to change the exhaust, as I don't want to change the tone- but I do want to make it LOUDER.

The ceramics on my LP640 are the craziest brakes I have ever felt. The smallest pedal input and you feel like the tires could be overwhelmed if you put the pedal all the way down. They are incredible and inspire confidence.
The aventador brakes are are the opposite. LP700 were terrible. SV not so good. SVJ not so good.
What the hell Lamborghini!

I do agree, the brakes are not at all confidence inspiring.

Stunning spec exoticalex, saw a few clips on YT with your car and it look incredible.
Thanks man. Pics don't do Verde Ithica justice. All this crazy rain needs to end, so I can drive it again!

For me, I was 100% onboard with the SVJ. I'm now at 50%.
I couldn't agree more. A bit disappointed to see so many J's will be produced....and not sure if its upgrading from the SV now.

What are you interested in? Buying a logo already made or making one yourself ?
I am in need of replacement large SV stickers. If anybody has the vector files, I can have it printed. Happy to assist others in need once I have the files as well.
Placement measurements would also be GREATLY appreciated!

sad times when extended warranty is considered on a 3 year old car. And worse if only a few ks are on the clock over that period.
Thankfully it has been a solid car, but its good to weigh the options of peace of mind!
-
My understanding is that it is Full Factory warranty same as what is covered on the standard 3 year warranty. An authorized Lamborghini Dealer can approve this extension subject to an inspection, however if the Dealer has been servicing your car the inspection is not required.
For me, if I was going to keep the car I would definitely pay for the extended warranty, that $7K will pay for itself pretty fast for any big ticket items, plus it's peace of mind which is a benefit in and of itself.
I will check with the service manager tomorrow. The car was bought and has been serviced at the same dealer...yet they apparently still have to inspect- and they want another ~$900 for that! If it is factory coverage, then its a no brainer!
-
The warranty on my 15 Roadster is just about to expire, and I am debating on extending 1 or 2 years. As many of you know, its about $7500 and $15000...and I am conflicted now due to the coverage. It appears the warranty is more of a powertrain only warranty. Does anybody know exactly what is, and what is not covered? Worth it?
Thanks!

Im running the exhaust same exhaust setup on the LP640 and its amazing! Pure perfection. The car is tuned as well, which helped the power band substantially.

Good afternoon,
I am finally going to TUNE, FLASH, UPGRADE or MAP my ECU, (Already Removed from my Aventador).
I don't know which term to use ! I already upgrade my Aventador Roadster with IPE EXHAUST FULL SYSTEM Including the CAT BY PASS.
From what I read, It is always better to Upgrade the ECU after changing the exhaust.
After some research, I am now looking for the company. Thats is where I need your help.
Choice is :
- EUROCHARGED
- RSC TUNING
- VF ENGINEERING
- EVOMS
- VR TUNED
- FABSPEED
Are they all using the same file but with different company ?
Thanks a lot.
I would love to know as well. Everybody seems to have difference claims to power. Some of them tune the TCU as well.
Anybody have feedback on any of these tunes? Worth it?
Thanks!

Do you think it jumps into neutral when there isn't enough pressure applied to the brake or the other way around?
I will test that next time I drive, it tends to go into neutral after spirited drives, I thought there is something to do with the temps but you might be right about the pressure. Interesting point.
It jumps into neutral if it doesnt think your foot is on the brake.
Im not in love with the brakes on the Aventador. The LP640 ceramics are incredibly sensitive, and I feel like they can overwhelm the tires if you put your foot down hard enough. The Aventador brakes just are not confidence inspiring. Lots of pressure required and it doesnt seem to translate into stopping power.
-
My car while stopped at the lights shifts into neutral by itself most of the time, must be one of the dumb ones who doesn't want to learn anything
Is your foot hard enough on the brake pedal? I have noticed there needs to be a pretty decent amount of force on the pedal, otherwise it thinks your took your foot off.
Anybody know of an aftermarket tune that can bring the aggressive SPORT downshifts, into Corsa mode? That would be the perfect mix!
-
Anybody else with hands on experience? Im strongly considering a tune of some sort. Considering the SV is the exact same powertrain (right?) I assume the powertrain is good with the added power, and a tune is all that is necessary. Just not sure which tune is best-and I like the idea of a flash loader, and not having to send ECU's
I already have a full exhaust, so a tune should really bring out some additional power.
TCU tune would be good too. Help shift times, and maybe Cross downshifts can be made fun like Sport mode?
-
Just had my car in for service, and it was confirmed that is how Lamborghini programmed the car... So strange. Newest software update did nothing in terms of changing things.... in fact, I now feel that shifts almost seem slower?! And the beautiful crackles and backfires from 2900rpm down to 2000 rpm have been reduced. Shame!
-
Old thread.....
I notice the same thing. Very strange that downshift in corsa mode seems so......slow and boring, compared to sport. Upshifts in corsa are amazing though!!!
Any idea why this is?

There is a beautiful 14 " Verde ithaca roadster with 1100 miles owned by a board member that is for sale right now for 360 K
https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/6...29124/overview/
Oh I like it. Made a slight typo with my prior post- meant $365k.
And the more I look, the more I see out there. So confused lol
-
I would expect depreciation, just a matter of how much.
Im debating between two cars right now. A '15 with 4500 miles, or a Verde Ithaca '14 with 2k miles. Assuming I could be ~$365k in each car (would pay $8k to extend warranty on the '14)....just not sure which is the better pick....and what the price might drop to over the next year...
-
Not the yellow one.
Also latest news:
Aventador S will come with a DCT.
Confirmed? Everything I have read seems to show the ISR not changing.
-
Im looking as well, it would have to be a 13+ coupe, as I never have taken the top off on anything I've owned in the past Then again I don't have the California or Florida climate here is in Washington.
Ill keep an eye out for a Spyder, let me know if you find some solid deals on coupes. They seem to be hovering around 340 for a low milage.
This will be my first exotic with the ability to remove the roof. I figure its the best of both worlds.
Ill keep my eyes open for ya!
Aventadors..... Whats the story

The SV is worth every penny over an LP700. SV to SVJ is another big step and a bit more difficult to say it's worth every penny for the upgrade. When you compare what you get $$$ wise for a SVJ, its hard to look elsewhere. The next step up is the 7 figure range, and I know for a fact, I wouldn't drive them the same way I drive the SVJ. Mileage, maintenance, reliability, drivability, etc. So in that sense, the SVJ is unbeatable for the money.
Agreed on the fact the SVJ doesnt photo well. Especially the front end.
