  2. Flames aren't a dealbreaker :)

haha well if you eliminate the cats you will more than likely get them regardless! The best sounding and looking setup (in my opinion and depending on the year of your G) is our cat bypass pipes with our supersport exhaust (if you have an 09+) or the cat bypass pipes with the sport exhaust (for 04'-08' cars) with the quad tips! add the carbon fiber intake boxes and the ECU upgrade to both setups for the best all around package (sound, looks, power, etc.)

  3. 560. Looking to do ECU/exhaust also. From what I understand doing ECU and exhaust would increase hp/tq. Would the cats primarily improve the sound or would there be noticeable performance gains as well? Specifically, would the low end torque be affected by the sport cats?

Just for the sake of asking - would the ECU/cats/exhaust produce flames at the tailpipes?

There will absolutely be performance gains from each component individually. From my personal experience I would say the cats give more power than sound. If you want to shoot flames I would do our cat bypass pipes with the muffler bypass pipes and the ECU. You will have post header straight piped exhaust... it will be LOUD but give you the flames it sounds like you are looking for!

  4. I have a Tank Francais from back in the day and I still pull it out every once and a while. I like it because its different than the norm. They are pretty cheap as well so no major investment but they don't hold any value either.

So it would make sense to buy one used if I do buy one and let the original owner take the brunt of the depreciation? The IWC aquatimer also has me interested, my father has IWC watches and swears by them and told me to look there, I was always under the impression the IWC line was WAY more money than they look like they are (in my limited research)

  5. Hey all, sorry if this has been touched on but my searcing turned up nothing (this forums search functionality BLOWS!) anyways, this will be my first "real" watch, I love the way the watch looks and the price isnt terrible. What do you guys think about the mens Cartier Tank line? Any and all help is much appreciated.

  6. I need to work on my affluent look...

me too... personally, if someone I didnt know came into my shop and wanted to take out one of our cars that was for sale, if one was for sale (from our Gallardo down to our F350) I would not only go along for the ride but make a copy of their insurance and drivers licence (as well as a backup copy of ID probably).

As far as the "affluent look" that was directly from the managers mouth. I learned long ago not to judge a book by its cover. My father worked very hard and has become an expert in his field of law and dresses WAY down on the weekends, think jeans and t-shirts. Even going to buy my mother her new BMW the dealership didnt want to give him the time of day.

  7. Guy went for test drive in F50 from Algar ferrari, told sales man to drive back. Sales man gets out of car and customer goes racing off. Ships car to Lexington. Has insider at DMV help title car. Drives for years int he F50 working as Pilot. Fchatter buys car from former "owner" going through divorce. Takes delivery. Tries to register car with ferrari. Ferrari reports car as stolen. Fchatter gets money back from seller and gives him the car back while FBI waits patiently in order for the transaction to be reversed. FBI siezes car. FBI wrecks.

Thats it more or less. Quite a few other details though.

IIRC the dealership manager let the gentleman test drive the car without any identification either based on how affluent he looked and the fact that he pulled up in a car with a driver. (i havent read the thread on F chat in a while)

  8. Does the price include the c/f surrounds and everything you need to install them? And would matte black tips be the same price?

if I needed to powder coat/ceramic coat the tips it would be an additional $150 and would look like these porsche tips I did for a customer:

(on the left obviously, the rights are a very nice gumetal)

  9. I'd be on board for a set at that price.

The flared section that you're saying has to be removed on the Tubi, that area is welded on, correct? Sounds like I would need to remove the rear bumper cover and actually cut off this part? If so, that certainly raises the install time lol. Am I understanding you correctly?

The bumper should not need to be removed, however if you feel so inclined I it is very easy to take off. The tips with the final bend in the exhaust should come off pretty easily though to modify with minimal work.

  10. I can't speak for everyone obviously, but I'd certainly be interested in doing it...maybe some of the members of another board would as well.

Regarding the fitment, I wasn't wondering in regards to how you guys designed them and if that was right as I've heard all good things about quality from your company...more so was worried that different tolerances and position(s) of aftermarket exhaust causing problems. I just know some areas there is plenty of wiggle room for things like that to be off, and others are an exact fit (just on cars in general). To be more specific, I have Tubi exhaust currently on my car with the stock tips.

On your Tubi, the flared section at the end would need to be removed. As far as the fitment that was brough up on lambo-talk, it was either a packaging or shipping issue. The tab on the top left of the driver side was tapped 1/16 of an inch back. Once I tapped the tab back into place it fit perfectly! I attached pictures of the tip (with the tab that was bent circled), the customers returned tip on our car and the CF shroud installed on our car.

tip that has the tab that needed adjustment:

    Tip installed:

  11. Michael, looks great. It is a nice addition to the back for sure.

David, maybe if you would do a group buy just at that sub-$1k price point for x number of pre-purchases, it would grab attention and get the ball rolling. I'd definitely be interested in a set at that price point. I really like them--just not enough to pay $1300-1400 for them. I'm not saying they aren't worth that....just that I like them, but not so much that in MY mind I justify the cost.

    It's like anything else though.

Anyways, maybe that would get a chunk of them off the shelf and stir a little demand.

Out of curiosity, one fellow on another board had some kind of fitment issue and was unable to get them to work with his current exhaust. Did you guys get that resolved or figure out the issue? The reason I ask is because I too have aftermarket exhaust and wonder it it may cause fitment issues also from the slightly different lengths/locations compared to stock...

You guys want a group buy? OK! Give me a few minutes to type it up :eusa_dance: I just picked up our gallardo to bring to the shop, once it cools down I will pull the tips off and install the "non fitting" tips to see if there really was an issue. On some exhausts minor modifications need to be done (nothing that will hinder performance) for example, on the stock exhaust the section at the end of the pipe that is held on with an accuseal clamp needs to be removed for the tips to fit.
