  1. Whart, Indeed your car looks really fantastic. Ale
  2. Again, First of all, thank you sincerely for your advice. Secondly, I wish you all a Happy New Year, may it bring serenity and joy to everybody. Finally, my very first attempt to spot my dream-Lambo ended up very early: last thursday I incredibly spot a (presumably) pristine Orion Yellow car in a specialized magazine classifieds. I immediately rang the dealer, but his response was "just sold. Two weeks time and the car was gone before Christmas". It seems my quest will be a tough task... Ale
  3. Dear all, Thank you very much for your prompt responses! I think forums like this one are unvaluable, since here in Italy we miss your competent expertise made available to prophanes like me. I confess I got more and more excited when I went through your responses., since they are conforting me on my "insane" purchasing decision... A handful of final questions before I start "the Chase for my 6.0"... A. It seems that only shock absorbers could be an issue, the rest of the car being rock-solid (correct me if I am wrong). Could you please give me a hint to effectively spot defective shocks (I presume sellers would clean them prior to let the car be test driven)? B. The clutch wear is not a real problem, I would have it replaced anyway unless it proves to be near to brand-new condition. BTW, how much does it cost to have a clutch replacement (parts+fitting)? C. Is it common for 6.0s to need minor (or even major!) fixings like with Ferrari 550 Maranellos (e.g. side window seals, exhausts)? Are spare parts and fitting as expensive as Ferrari's? D. Indeed I expected some issues connected with introduction of sophisticated parts such as carbon fiber panels/interiors, DVD player, rear camera, relatively new engine (e.g. oil leaks), dynamic exhaust noise filter, etc. As far as you know have any claim arisen related to these parts? E. Also, I am very happy to read that depreciation is limited now. Is annual depreciation within the region of 10K$ per year? Again, thank you very much in advance and hope I can join the company as a Lambo owner! Cheers Ale
  4. Dear all, I am a newbie here and first of all I must congratulate with the forum managers and members for their valuable efforts. I'd like to introduce myself, then I'll submit to you my first - tough - questions. I am an Italian guy, 35 yo, I am a long-term Porschophile, but since I had a look at a DVD featuring several Lambos, I cannot sleep anymore... always the yellow Diablo 6.0 coming out and making me wake up! I am afraid I am getting again into the same "irrationale" frenzy which 2 years ago led me to my last buy, a brand-new 911 GT3 MkII. Indeed I am very happy with my GT3, but I feel I am falling in love with a yellow-bodied, black interior Diablo 6.0... In Italy we say "You cannot rule your heart"! Anyway, before my bank account dries up because of a pre-owned Diablo 6.0, I'd like to gather up as much information as possible on rationale and irrationale issues relating to owning a Diablo 6.0. It would be helpful to get elements impacting on the "Total Cost of Ownership", e.g. 1. average prices in the US for a mint 2000-01 car (either standard or SE) 2. residual values and devaluation trend (GT3 commands 75-80% of sticker price after 2 years) 3. maintenance and servicing costs (first 40K Kms of GT3 services are in the same price-league as a Mercedes SLK - few hundreds euros total; also very durable tires, clutch and brakes) 4. main reliability issues (GT3 is virtually bullet-proof as of today - a couple of really minor fixes/adjustments at no cost) Also, I'd like to get your opinion of pros and cons comparing my current car (the 911 GT3) and the Diablo 6.0 in terms of, e.g. 5. emotions/adrenaline (GT3 is on top of Porsches, but a little behind Ferraris) 6. real performance (GT3 is very close to supercar realm:0-62 in 4"5, 0-100 in 9"9) 7. handling (GT3 is razor-sharp, but little forgiving) 8. practicality (GT3 requires care on driveways and potholes, but you can fit your weekly shopping in it!) Anybody with a fair experience with both cars is welcome. Even if you just want to express your competent opinion, I'll appreciate it. Thank you in advance! I hope I can turn into a Lambo owner very soon! Sincerely, Ale
