  1. So I wrecked my '04 gated and I have been in full clinical depression for the past 16 days. Nobody hurt, only front of the car ruined, but insurance called it a total loss.

Now I am faced with the reality that a decent mileage gated LP640 will be nearly impossible. I guess I will need to learn how to love the egear.

I have looked at the aventador, but I am a little thrown off by how busy the interior is, although the outside is amazing. It's also alot more money and will likely depreciate alot more over the next couple of years.

    Couple of LP640 questions:

Is there a big difference between the 07 and 08? I am looking at one in dallas and one in chicago.

The chicago car is an 07 with 11K miles, the dallas is an 08 with 8K miles.

Both have similar clutch left (the 07 has a newer clutch).

Both have carbon package and Q cintura interior which are 2 requirements for me.

Both are black (I like black and grey cars always)

The chicago car is a little cheaper (not a huge deal, but a plus), but it does have the Carbon ceramic brakes.

I want to know if the 08 e-gear is improved over the 07 and/or if the 07's brake package makes the car that much better than the '08.

Lastly, if anybody out there has a decent mileage gated LP640 I am all ears! My guess is no.

Thank you all for your input

Sorry to hear about the wreck and glad everyone was okay. I'll just chime in on a couple of things with my opinion:

    1) If buying an LP640, go for one with Carbon Ceramics. Braking is by far the most pleasurable part of the LP640 with CCBs.

    2) You're not going to find a manual LP640 unless you're willing to pay 50-100% more.

    Good luck!

  2. I would be hesitant to do that much of wiring changes to a Lambo, but I bet it's been done before (maybe to one of the ones that ends up in the news or eBay after burning to the ground). But if you get one, go for one with a remote popping of the front trunk. That's always annoying to have to open the door and reach in to pull the trunk release.

Yes, the trunk release would come in very handy. Hopefully someone who has done it successfully will respond and take away our fears of the car catching fire!

  3. I have a 2003 Murci and it only came with 1 key/key fob. please check with our franchised lamborghini dealer sponsors sells the programmable remote fobs at a reasonable price, but I was wondering if anyone has gone with an aftermarket alarm system with a remote start feature. Is it possible to disable the factory system? Since I start the car and let it warm up for a while before driving it, it would be nice to be able to do it via remote. It would also be nice to have proximity sensors and other features now possible with modern alarm systems.

  4. Hi All,

I own the Aventador in these videos. I raced the Hellcat 4 times that night. I clearly won 3 of them but was playing catch up every time and pulled away once at higher speeds. The closest race was from a 30 roll where he got a big jump but just as I caught up and was about to pull in him, I had to slow down due to a car in front. All others started at 40+ and there was no problem winning. The Hellcat also started a bit ahead in most of the races as well.

So everyone can rest easy here. The videos were purposely edited to look the way they did. The Hellcat is fast, that's for sure, but not faster than the Aventador. I was in Sport mode and let the car shift on its own.

  5. I was wondering if anyone has experienced the issue I sometimes have with my '03 Murci:

Hi Safeer thank you! Yes he would be able to attend tomorrow but we would like his commitment to buy a few raffle tickets to helps us raise more money!. Please let him know to be here by 1:45p to start staging his car in the classic section

to go through a reboot while driving. The car runs fine but the air conditioning fan goes out and all the gauges on the instrument cluster go to 0 position and all the lights go out. A few seconds later, they all come back on. So far, this has only happend when the car is warmed up and it's hot outside, making me believe it could be a relay somewhere. It can happen while driving or at a stop. Everything else, including radio, work fine and also continue to work while the ecu reboots.

I took it to a shop here in town and they were not able to find any issues after going through all the wiring. Although it only happens sometimes, they did experience the reboot a few times a on test drives. So we are stumped. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  8. One of the buttons on my '03 instrument cluster has broken and popped out. The button itself has two tabs and one has broken off so no way to repair it. Anyone have a source for replacement buttons? I'd even take a plain one with no label for something completely unrelated if it would fit. Dealer says you can only order some part # that would result in a ~$700 bill for part + labor just to replace one five cent button.

Unrelated; the other buttons in center console and on the door handles are getting that old Lambo funky sticky issue; it's starting to happen in my gallardo too. Any advice on how to clean that off without ruining them?

Which button do you need? I need one too. Maybe we can buy the set and split the cost, unless we both need the same one. I need the 2nd one from the left (can't remember off-hand which one that is).

  9. I have been thinking of doing the RWD conversion. Looks like getting the front SV axles is the best way to go is that correct? Any idea where to get some and how much? Is there a thread on here anywhere showing step by step how to convert?

Wondering from those that have done it. Does the front end seem to float without the added weight up there?

I've been thinking about doing this as well. Hopefully those that have done it can chime in with their pros and cons.

I worry about the safety aspect as well. I would assume that you would have to turn off the TCS or it would constantly engage. Does the car then become a wild child?
