  1. sorry to be totally off topic...but when did you pick up a ME diablo? ANd which color is 10 of 20?!

Sorry for the off topic! Wasn't looking for one but the deal struck me and I couldn't resist...Bought it earlier this year.

  2. If you're asking those kinds of questions...the Veyron is not the car for you...You have to replace the wheels every 8,000 miles or 4 months, and they are around $42k for just the tires alone...and yes you have to replace the rims to because the tires are held in there by a special glue, and the molecules in the glue breakdown after 4 months which makes them not suited for 250 MPH.

I figured someone would give the predictable cliche answer of "this is not the car for you". Your answer provided no info I was looking for. It's not a matter of affording it, but a matter of is it worth affording...

Plus, you have no ownership experience. I was looking for someone with actual experience. As far as the wheels and tires go, I'd be inclined to put HRE wheels with Michelin tires on it. I have zero intention of taking the car to its limit. If I want to go fast I'll jump in a car I consider to be actually fast. This car is for the experience.

  3. Thanks. For the record I think the Chiron looks kind of funky from certain angles and in the wrong colors. In darker colors it looks very good. It also looks ALOT better in person than it does in pictures. And those rear bumpers are easily removable, thankfully.

Having a few experienced Bugatti people in here, I've read all kinds of different things about Bugattis and their maintenance. As the early Bugattis age, what would you say ownership and maintenance costs would look like. I could see spending $1m on something like a 2008 car with some miles on it at some point down the line. But am I opening myself up for disappointment and potential six figure repair bills? I just wonder how they will age. A car like that would be worth the price of entry, but would not be worth it if the maintenance is painstaking. Any info or input you have I'll soak up like a sponge:)

  4. I was looking at a 2012 Aventador from a family member of one of the members on this forum and it had a check engine light on. Dealer was 300 miles away so that's why he hadn't had it sent in yet. I told him I'd take the car once it got checked out and engine light issue resolved from dealer. Turned out to be a head gasket replacement as well. Fortunately I didn't just go ahead and buy it. It was just past warranty period but they did end up taking care of him on it. With that said, I still passed on the car as it concerned me... Pretty crazy. Would definitely stay away from 2012's for this reason and for transmission issues...

  5. One thing I have a hard time withis any more 840hp is soooo easy to make and have it be reliable. So I get that this car you should be able to flog on all day under warranty, but for the money it's going to cost and the ugliness and weight of this pig, I don't see what all the excitement is about.

  6. I will absolutely own a CS in the near future. Had a deposit on a 2k mile 1 owner car a few years back and purchase price was $160k. Ended up passing on it for no good reason. But it's probably my next "big" purchase. That or a 675 LT but the CS gets me giddy every time I see them. My first time experiencing one was about 5 years ago at Houston Cars and Coffee. I was down there to look at a Rosso Metis Gallardo at the Lambo dealer and went to Cars and Coffee first. Of all the cars there that morning the CS messed me up the most for some reason. Then I proceeded to the dealer to look at the Gallardo (passed on it because I didn't love the color) and low and behold they were having their running of the bulls. It was when the Aventador had just come out, so to see several that morning was pretty epic. But what stuck with me was the CS. It also attended that morning among about 40-50 Lambos and believe it or not, the CS was my favorite car there and the Lambo dealer. Still can't explain why... But needless to say I fell in love with them that day and will own one. Congrats!

  7. Going to spray my murci after 3+ years of love roughly. I want to change the color once again to make it feel like a new car to me. Pushing 86,000 miles and runs like new. Can't wait for the next 3+ years with it. If anyone needs pointers or directions in any part of dismantling the Murcielago let me know now while it's fresh in my mind lol.

    86k miles! Congrats!

  8. What did you get? I think EVOMS. I believe other tuners use them too. Renntech too.

I actually have not bought one yet. Wanting to talk to someone about what the potential is on the V8's. Because if I can turn those up to 600-650 then I'll probably go the V8 route. If not, I'll go the W12 route. I'm indifferent at this point so I'm just wanting to talk to someone about power potential and make my decision on which car to buy based on that...

  9. Really have an itch for a luxury car with four seats. My first priority is comfort but secondly power. I've driven the V8s and really prefer the extra 100+hp of the GT speed. I haven't driven the supersports yet but I hear they are a little rougher ride? Also, it's hard to beat the new body style. Another factor is how well the supersports have held their value where the GT Speed still has a ways to go with depreciation. This is probably the third most important factor to me...

Would consider an S63 coupe but those depreciate even worse! But love the new tech on them. Obviously leaps and bounds better. But I also hate that the styling is a little dull and hardly distinguishable from a c class, not that image means anything to me (mean that sincerely)...

Anyone have any thoughts. Any other over the top luxury cars I'm missing? The Wraith did very little for me when I test drove. Just too over the top in the looks department... Appreciate your input!

  10. ok, here's the rough scenario:

    - got an approval from PUTNAM for open-ended lease 60 months for a 2015 huracan.

    - about $3300 a month.

    - about $9500 (first and last month payment, and fees)

    - $110,000 balloon at end

but here's the parts i'm trying to understand:

    a) if i wanted to get out of this car in about 1.5-2 years, what would that cost me to do it? not looking for a number, but basically an idea. i know with finance it's pretty much (Payoff - Trade In or Market Value = What i OWE or make) and i know that with such short term ownerships, i'll be in a negative scenario more times than not. but does this change with the above lease?

    B) what would i have to pay for or look at when getting out of this car in about 1.5-2 years?

With these lease companies if you sell the car before lease is up you automatically forfeit at least one months payment, possibly two months as kind of an early termination fee. But then you can sell it or pay it off however you please. Rates won't be as good through a lease company though. Only way it really makes good sense is if you can write the lease off. Otherwise traditional financing typically will be cheaper financing...
