  1. The screws are small. so they might be hidden under the leather, one is very close to the front area, very low, there is a center one and one more on the vertical area, screwed to a small metal plaque, touch the leather until you feel the screw heads,

  2. What are the chances of removing trim to seal windshield without bending them or breaking the glass?

Has anyone tried this or had it done?

Don't know if this helps, I had that done on a Lotus Esprit when the windshield cracked, the repair didn't look that great, do you have to do that?

  3. I had the door tied up while I changed the strut. After I finished, I took the rope off and started putting the door panel back on.

I heard a small "tink" sound. About the time I realized it was the little circlip that held the door strut in place, the strut popped off and down it came.

I'm pretty confident the rubber weather seal saved my fingers! If there would have been no weather stripping, I think the door would have cut right through the fingers!

I remember there was a lot of blood! First thing I did was wiggle my fingers and was shocked they weren't broke!

I wrapped my hand in a towel and drove myself to the ER.

The lesson learned? Never reuse a circlip! Use a new one! LOL!!

    Oh wow! i am speechless!

  4. Hello all,

I would like to ask for a bit of advice, if anybody could kindly give me some directions on how to remove the door handle, (it seems stuck, and I don't want to bend or brake anything) and the rest of the trim to reach the door strut, I bought strut replacements and I am trying to install them by myself, I read somewhere that it would be a good idea to tie the door somewhere above to keep it from falling during the replacement, any other comments suggestions? thank you very much!

  5. Glad I could make your day. :icon_thumleft:

True. I realize I could have phrased my explanation a whole lot better. Don't flame me too bad. :D

I guess I'm kind of undecided, but leaning more towards a QV when the time is right for me. I was hoping that the 5000S just didn't feel too slow, haha. Even my 533i is fun when I think about it. It's as slow as a snail today, and hard to believe it was the fastest sedan sold in the US at one time, but it gives me thrills every time I start it up. :icon_mrgreen: I'm just thinking and wanted to read feedback from owners. I really enjoy cars that give a decent pull when you stomp on the gas. :)

I think as a fun feeling, the Lotus Esprit is what you need, it feels like a slingshot, the max power output in the CT is at high revs, so it takes a lot of time to get up there, the handling of the Esprit is like a ballerina, nimble, the CT? like a charging bull! right? (Actually now that I think of it, that is the feeling in the CT!) it has anger as if it saw red..

  6. I remember you telling me it could easily have needed $100K in maintenance from sitting. Still seemed like a better deal than this one that is unoriginal.

Do tell! :icon_mrgreen: I'm not in the market yet, but I love to look.

Doc! I was in your area last week, You won't believe it on Lamborghini business, Lambo lab is in your neighborhood, the Carbon fiber gurus that designed the sesto elemento,,,

  7. With the current age of the Countach approaching almost 4 decades, the countach shift knob is one of those items no longer available from Lamborghini.

Well they do offer a replacement knob, but it looks nothing like the original. More like an Alfa Romeo/Lancia vintage 1970's Gear shift knob.

I came across this company online that replicated the original Countach knob.

    Reproduction Countach Shift Knob

Curious if fellow members have ordered one from them?

Reached out to them, but no response. Looks to be pretty spot on.

Would love to have a spare, but it's looking like I will have to have mine re-upholstered instead.

I have a few contacts at the Countach owners club in Japan, I will ask them, maybe they can help us get these,
