Peter K Report post Posted March 23, 2006 The black vents on our quarters, they must be some really good epoxy or something. Last year the machine shop could not blast them clean. I just painted trim black over them. But one has the original stuff peeling off. Any suggestions on how to get the original finish off? Mike Report post Posted March 24, 2006 Paint stripper. A pain and a mesh. But works. Make sure you clean the hell out of them after stripped and prime them. Them paint with satin black, Will look like new.

Mike Report post Posted March 25, 2006 Huummmm......well haven't run into that. Can you scratch the paint thats on there? I'm wondering if they may have been powder coated at one time. Paint stripper won't touch powder coating. Which would also explain why the paint you put on didn't stick.
