Guest miyagi Report post Posted October 6, 2007 Quick question for you guys. I am finally going to get around to taking my car into have another Dyno run. I have heard that if it's a 4WD dyno you need to do a calculation to determine true BHP? Is this true? I don't seem to be getting a clear answer from the dyno shops I am ringing. This time I want to know exactly what I am looking for. Thanks in advance
intence Report post Posted October 6, 2007 if you dyno your car you will get a reading of all wheel horsepower.....

Guest miyagi Report post Posted October 9, 2007 Just give us the awhp reading. They didn't give me awhp. They said that it was at the flywheel? But they weren't sure, they had to go and check. They couldn't give me my graph as they were out of ink? I assume you will be be able to tell from that, right? But I'm going to swing by tomorrow and get the grap and then on Thursday I have it booked in at a different dyno. The UK is wack for this kinda thing, no one knows what they talking about. intence Report post Posted October 10, 2007 i would stay away from that shop if they cant give you a wheel hp read out. yes some dynos have the option show flywheel such as dynapack but most are wheel hp
yellomurci Report post Posted November 6, 2007 The only real way to get flywheel HP is to remove the engine and dyno it. All rolling roads read wheel HP and a loss calculation (drive train losses) is used to aproximate flywheel HP. They probably dont know how much loss to calculate for the Lambo 4 wheel drive system. In the real world where you need a gear box and drive shafts wheel HP is what counts. You could remove your front drive shaft and dump the loss from the diff etc this will decrease the overall loss from engine to rear wheels. And incase someone chimes in a dyno really tests torque and calculates HP. Russell
