achilles99 Report post Posted January 14, 2010 Just wanted to comment that you should NOT be using power steering fluid, at least in the 02 Murc. I looked up the fluid specs, and it actually uses a specific synthetic automatic transmission fluid rating. Presumably because of the hydraulic lifting system? jefflambo Report post Posted January 22, 2010 The book calls for Dexron 3 this is nothen special just ATF Dexron 3 this is used in almost all Ford trans and many other.
achilles99 Report post Posted May 25, 2010 Exactly, Dexron 3. It's a transmission fluid and not power steering fluid. Glad I checked the book before assuming I should use power steering fluid...
aehaas Report post Posted May 26, 2010 And make sure you have plenty of the fluid on hand as the canister is quite large. Make sure the lift is in the normal position too, not elevated when you do the change. aehaas
