limey Report post Posted June 20, 2013 So, need to get a set of rings for an 04 Gallado, Lamborghini wants nearly $3000.00 for a set, anyone have a source for direct replacement or lower costs. Total seal offer some, but i think these only fit there aftermarket pictons. All help appreciated.
EpDarks Report post Posted June 20, 2013 Not a lot of help, but have you tried an Audi part number? I know many of the VW/Audis use the 82.5mm pistons. No clue if the rings are the same. Another thought would be to ask UGR or Heffner as I'm sure they put new rings in during some of their builds. GL

Turbo50Mike Report post Posted June 23, 2013 I would take the $220 set, and measure them side by side to the stockers with a dial caliper. Then push them into the cylinder with a piston (to square them up) and measure the ring gap with a feeler gauge (like you would do with a file fit type ring). Then compare that to stock. If it checks out, use them. Verify rings are made for the style of bore you have (i.e. alum or steel), and use JE's recommendation on final grit finish for the hone on the bores.
