svoshop Report post Posted July 1, 2018 I feel kind of silly posting this. But today we took the car out. It was about 95 outside , but my daughter wanted the windows down. I just have a habit of turning off all hvac if the windows are open. We stopped and got ice cream ... 😉 and on the way back the car insisted on turning on the AC on the climate and would not let me power down the hvac system. It would turn right back on. I got home. Powered the car down and restated. It was still the same operation. Is this some secret hot weather operation I don’t know about? Not a huge deal. But I found it odd. 2016 700-4 with 1100 miles. Thanks in advance. Mike
topjay Report post Posted July 1, 2018 If very hot it is required to be on to cool the fuel tank for some reason
svoshop Report post Posted July 1, 2018 Thank you. I had a feeling the car was up to something. I have a Galileo and scanned the climate system with no codes. But you made me feel 1000% better. Thanks Mike
Fortis Report post Posted July 1, 2018 Same thing happened to mine, if the engine or ambient temps (I think) reach a certain degree it works by itself and you can’t switch it off, quite annoying TBH, the mechanic confirmed that there is no issue so you have nothing to worry about.
