  1. I've been trying to get one of these on my SVR but dealer hasn't had one now going on 2 months since ordered. I tried calling a few others in the area (So Cal) and even Nevada and no one had it. Anyone know if there's any production issues with the exhausts?
  2. I got the tune from VF Engineering. I was happy with the results. I'm local to where VF is located so I just took mine in and they did it for me. I didn't dyno it, so this is all subjective, but I did feel more urgency on the way up to redline when accelerating. I think I noticed it most when I took it into the dealer for service and they reflashed it and erased the tune. I felt a noticeable difference during acceleration at that time. I know Nik Saran the owner of VF Engineering, he is a friend of mine and he does excellent work, you wouldn't go wrong with his product. I have no experience with the other three you mentioned but I'm sure they are all good. Biggest downside to me is if there is a factory software update that your tune goes away, VF redid it for me at no cost second time around, but if I wasn't local that may have been a pain.
  3. The launch red color (I forget the specific name they had for it) was beautiful. It really works well, has depth and a bit of a metallic component to it. It contrasts really well with all the carbon and black trim on it. Very different effect than Rosso Mars, but more similar to another deep red lambo has (I forget the name of that red as well, there is pic on this forum of a few though). Everyone I spoke with there thought it was really nice. Also looked really good with the black wheels, those too I didn't like in the pictures (I thought they were too busy) but in person they look really good.
  4. I saw the SV at an event lamborghini newport beach arranged this past weekend (you can see the pics on their facebook or instagram site). When I first saw the SV in the pics I wasn't that excited about it, not enough for me to change from my roadster. But in real life (as is the case for most cars) it looks much better. The rear end which I thought looked way too busy in the pics looks awesome in person, probably one of the best views of the car, which is nice as I think a straight on view of a standard Aventador from the back is the weakest angle. Everything else works really well too. Interior is really nice as well, carbon everywhere. From outside the sound is not as loud as I'd have liked, there was a murci SV at the event that sounded better, blame it on emissions regulations I'm guessing. I have the kriessieg on mine which I love, so sound is obviously a big deal for me, but I guess its an easy fix by swapping to an aftermarket exhaust (or maybe one of the factory exhaust options if they have one). Overall though I loved it, didn't think I would but it just works really well. A more aggressive Aventador without ruining the underlying angles and shapes that so many of the aftermarket kits do. If I could afford 2 I would be all over this thing, but for now I'm still hooked on the roadster experience with the open air and louder sound.............now if(when) they come out with an SV roadster, well that's a different story!
  5. Yeah that happened when I had my 2012. I tried using the included charger and then jumping it but both didn't work, eventually had to get it towed in to get it restarted. I since changed to a 2014 and on the last factory software update they said they adjusted it to give a few more times it would allow jump start attempts before it cut out. Good luck with it but if battery is dead and you cant get it restarted you can always have it towed into service and get it taken care of. Mine was covered under warranty when it happened and didn't cost me anything. It was just a pain.
  6. Just thought I'd post a few observations on my Kreissieg exhaust after having it a few months. I had it installed at just under 1k miles. To be honest I thought it sounded good but I was pretty underwhelmed to say the least. I kept comparing it to that youtube clip of the white aventador doing the drive and thought mine didn't sound anything like it, but figured maybe it was different from inside the car vs outside. Fast forward 900 miles and the difference from when I first installed it is night and day. I really did start to notice a big difference right around 1500 miles. Now it has that high pitched wail at the higher rpms that I loved on that clip. I find myself holding it in gear longer just to listen to that sound. There aren't many tunnels near where I live but when going under an overpass the echo sounds incredible. I came pretty close to selling the car while it was 'breaking in' but I'm glad I held onto it. Another interesting thing, I sat in the passenger compartment for the first time the other day while my friend was driving it and I noticed the sound was very different from the passenger compartment. It was downright uncomfortable in my right ear. It was almost deafening but not in a good way (maybe its similar to what one of the other kreissieg owners had posted about their experience with it). It made me wonder if you could use some appropriately placed sound absorbing/reflecting materials to 'tune' the sound at all? For example it sounds very different with the back window up/down and the roof on/off, so I wonder if an audio installer would be able to do something to improve those areas like the right passenger compartment in my car?
  7. I got the software update on mine as well. A 2014 Roadster I had delivered in Dec 2013 (don't have the build # off hand). It definitely does make a difference on the shifting. I have the kreissieg exhaust on mine and it gives a lot more pops and crackles at the lower rpm range which is nice. I was hoping the change would give that same downshift throttle blip you get in sport mode when you are in corsa but it doesnt do that. The shifts are much smoother but appears to take a little longer(?) at the lower rpm range to complete the shift, though once you get into the higher rev range it still has that same visceral jerk. On my 2012 coupe I thought it was too aggressive but I think they've got it dialed in just right now. I didn't notice anything on the display so if there was a change it may have been more subtle. Otherwise the dealer told me there are some changes to the startup with the factory software exhaust upgrade, but not too sure what those were, I'm in CA so we can't get the factory exhaust upgrade here. I had an aftermarket software upgrade and mine actually felt a bit less aggressive after this latest update, so I'm not sure how it works but it may have wiped my aftermarket upgrade. I'm going to take it back to the installer and get that checked out. Overall though just for the shifting changes I think it was an improvement from stock. I got a call about a factory recall/upgrade of tensioner and a couple of other things and when I brought it in they said they just released the software update so I had it done at the same time. Maybe the newer 2014's already came that way?
  8. Question for other Kreissieg owners: I've noticed a bit of a dead zone from about 3k to 6k RPM, at 6k it really comes alive, and its got a nice sound below 3k, but that range between 3 and 6 it feels like it should be a bit louder. I had the vacuum lines to the valves adjusted before and that helped a great deal (it used to go dead at 3k and stay really muted anywhere above 3k), but just want to compare to see if that matched other people's experience or if I should have them look into it some more.
  9. Not sure what happened to the other Kreissieg thread, but thought I'd post a few impressions. I finally got it worked out on my car. I don't know all the logistics but they had to reroute the vacuum lines as they said the Kreissieg exhaust valve worked opposite to the way the factory did, so when it hit 3k RPM valves closed instead of opening up when in the 'loud' mode. I'm not sure if this may have been due to the way they originally set up the software exhaust upgrade on mine to begin with so it may not be an issue others will deal with on install, but just something to keep note of if you are planning on installing it. The sound is truly awesome. At the lower rpm range it's loud (but not too loud). It actually has a deeper note at the lower rpm range than I thought it would. In comparison to my old LNB exhaust it is not as loud, but on the flip side it is much more bearable and doesn't have a drone or resonance inside the car at the lower range. At the higher rpm range it sounds incredible. It doesn't have as high a pitch as I was hoping for from inside the car, but driving under a few overpasses I could tell that high pitch wail is there, just doesn't come through quite as much from inside. The exhaust has a metallic edge to it at all ranges that just sounds awesome. The car definitely has a sound to match its looks now! At a stoplight or reversing out of the garage I do notice the exhaust smell as it bypasses the cats, but its not bad at all. I have a very sensitive sense of smell, so this was a big worry and I'm relieved it isn't really an issue. In quiet mode it's not too quiet at all but its definitely nice to be able to tone it down when you need to. I wasn't able to get it on the dyno for a before and after as it would have just added to the time and I was too impatient to get it back. I also have to mention that Louie over at Kreissieg was a great help and answered all my questions. My order came without any problems and it is a quality product. Thanks to everyone on the forum who posted their impressions (especially RaginBull and BlueMonster), it really helped me make my decision. If anyone is in the SoCal area and is thinking about getting it, just PM me, I'd definitely recommend hearing it live if you can as you can only get so much from the video clips.
  10. Thanks, I just figured out how to post pics so I'll post more pics in the Aventador pics thread. Check your PM for my installers contact info. He may have an idea about the overheating issue you brought up in your other thread too.
  11. Wow, what an awesome collection! I am putting the kreissieg on mine as well. Its at the shop waiting to be put on. I just ordered a rear wing and am waiting for that to come in before doing the install as they said it was easier to do the wing and exhaust at the same time. I'm also getting an ECU tune, supposed to be good for about 40hp +/-. My installer has a dyno so I'm going to run it before and after and I can post the results. I'd guess either late this week or next. If you want I can send you my installers contact info and he can tell you a little more details about the software tune.
  12. I actually like the wing, but not when the factory wing is in the up position like it is in two of the pictures here. To me its a night and day difference between the way it looks when its down and when its up in the pics. When its up the angle on the Novitec wing is too exaggerated and makes it look like the air brake. In the down position it just makes it look more aggressive (thats a plus in my book). All personal preference though I realize. Thanks for the pics, helped me decide which way to go on mine.
  13. looks good, love the color. does the wing still raise up (from the factory wing) once you hit a certain speed or is that disabled now that you have the fixed wing? And if it is disabled is that just a simple software adjustment or do you have to disable the wing by unplugging a wire ? thx
  14. Just wondering if anyone on the forum has an aftermarket rear wing on their Aventador. I've always liked the look of the big wing on the back, my favorites being the Countach and the Murci SV. So far my favorite on the Aventador (from pictures) is the Oakley design wing, but I have yet to see one in person. My dealer was telling me though that when you install the wing and disable the feature for the factory wing to raise at speed it gives off a warning light. Just wondering if anyone knew of a workaround to that. Also if you do disable the raise feature does it affect the engine cooling? (On another note I ordered the Kreissieg exhaust, my installer has a dyno so I'll get a run before and after to see if any difference. I'm also going to get an ECU tune so will do a before and after (both with exhaust at level 5) run with that as well. I'm guessing April or early May by the time the exhaust gets here and gets installed........maybe by then I'll figure out how to post pics and vids on the forum!)
  15. Congrats!! How awesome is that!!! When I drive mine sometimes I think back to when I was a kid and first saw the Cannonball Run and the love affair began! Then all these years later and I'm driving the dream. Its truly an awesome feeling, so I can only imagine how you must feel. Congrats again.
