  1. Yup, it's one of the funnier threads I've read in a while. I've been waiting for "Mercy-Me" to give us something else to chew on but I think he had enough.
  2. No, if he had a mullet he'd be building a replica AMC K-car.
  3. Yea, nice to see it dirty, like it's actually been driven hard. Now it looks like you were having fun in it and it looks bad-ass.
  4. Nice EC120B Mike! They are kind of rare around here.
  5. There are a bunch of reasons we're on you M-M and don't think much of you. First, you're trying to replicate something others worked hard to get for real and you slammed owners who look down on replicas. Second, you lied about owning an 09 LP640 (justification for a ban in my book) and you also lied about owning a Eurocopter. All of that adds up to the point where any post you makes isn't going to give you much respect and it takes time away from other more important discussions. Frankly I think there will be a point where Lamborghini will sue anyone who throws a badge on a replica including you so enjoy your car while you can. I don't get it M-M, if you have the talent to build a decent replica, then it sounds like you have the talent to earn enough to buy your own Murc and not come on here and lie about who you are and what you have and also spend your time insulting everyone in the process. Why the shortcut when it doesn't give you the respect you want on the forum you want? Why bother coming here and mess with Sokos and others who are well respected on this site? You should be banned and that's the end of it and allowed to come back when you're posting something honest, and not insulting everyone here.
  6. There must be a convention somewhere. I can't believe how many I've seen lately. Is there a shortage of flatbeds?
  7. I sure as hell don't want to ride in his Eurocopter either!
  8. But that's my point. Who are we to decide what is and isn't the right thing to buy at the right level of means? If someone lives in a shit-box and drives a nice car, so what? I know people who spend every dime they have and enjoy nice things. I also know people who have a lot of money and won't spend a dime to have fun. It's not for me to judge. I don't see the value in some expensive clothes (parents were in the rag business) yet I know people who think it's extremely important. I say to each his own. A poser is someone who's pretending to be someone different than who they are. They are not authentic by personality. I'll spend all day talking to someone who hopes to someday have a Lamborghini and wants to talk cars. I have no time for the guy who pretends to have one. Big difference.
  9. You're calling someone who wants to buy a recognized quality brand a poser? Where do you get off??? Sounds like you're reflecting your perceptions based on who you are. People who have the means value things differently and who cares? How does that make them a poser? Pretending you're something you're not is a poser. I know lots of women who have little money but buy Louis Vuitton (which I personally think is complete crap) simply because it makes them feel good about themselves and they take pride in owning it. So what. That doesn't cause me to think they are pretending to be rich by doing so. It's the fakes that get me, those who try and pass themselves as something they are not. What bugs me about the kit cars is that they aren't building something unique, they are building something to pass off as real which cheapens the brand for those who spend the money on the real thing. Every quality brand who cares about their brand spends big dollars to protect it for that reason. I don't care how others spend their money and I don't pass judgement unless they are trying to pass themselves off as something different from who they are. A nice suit, purse, watch without comment wouldn't rise to the level of poser. Telling me they own an 09 LP640 when they don't is a poser. When I worked as a studio musician (once again I'm not THAT Tommy James) in the late 70s, those who tried hardest to look like a musician ALWAYS sucked the most, every time.
  10. SKOKOS- funny posts! I was laughing my ass off. I was suspicious when he first started to blast owners when he also claimed to be one. He doesn't realize how few are made and that if he was real he'd likely be facing the same people somewhere and have to explain himself. First hint. Second is the helicopter crowd is even smaller and there are not that many Eurocopter private owners because the hull insurance is so high they can't justify the few hours flown by a typical private owner in a year. They too typically know each other. He was by far and away the dumbest poster so far. VERY FUNNY! Good job nailing him.
  11. Before you lecture us about our views consider the other side. First, those of us who have real cars worked damn hard to be successful enough to buy one (or more). The last thing we want is the brand cheapen by someone who makes a fake to pass off as real. This owner didn't attempt to build any car, he attempted to fake a real Lamborghini which cheapens the brand for those who have the real thing. The LAST thing I want is to someone come along and ask if my car is real or not. Did you ever consider how this idiot effects true owners??? Probably not. I hope someone asks you if your watch is a fake, if the diamond on her hand is fake, and if the purse she carries is fake too, and if really have the job you claim to do, especially if you worked hard to get your wife something nice (and real). People like you never consider those who work at the factory who produce the real products and how they are impacted when their brand is cheapened. I bought my Lamborghini because I love the REAL car, not because I wanted to look like someone who's rich as is the goal of most who own fake anything. I don't look for any justification to pretend to be someone I'm not as you do. I wish Lamborghini would sue the ass off those who produce these replicas.
  12. I seriously doubt there is much of a market for the RWD. I keep seeing posts from those here who hope they come out with one, but that's very different from those who will actually write a check for one. When you look at total LP640s sold in the US, it's not a big number relative to the G. While I see the line extension in limited edition cars, we're still talking about very small numbers. If you REALLY want a RWD, go down to your nearest dealer and give them a large check that is conditional on Lamborghini building the car. If the market actually exists, they would then be more likely to build it. One of the real tricks in the marketing department is separating those who make demands that they build something who don't have the means to buy the car, and those who will actually step up and write a check. The Versace cars didn't exactly fly out the door either yet there were a lot of posts saying it too was cool. A stripped out LP that could end up less comfortable than my car doesn't appeal to me.
  13. Before the market crash, I estimated $10.00 a mile for my new LP Roadster if held three years with an average of 5,000 miles a year. With the market down, it's probably twice that for a new car, but may swing in the opposite direction if you buy right and cars start to dry up. There are a lot of us that won't sell our cars at low prices because we love them as it is and have no need to sell. Lamborghini will have a smaller market because fewer people will want cars that drop at $20.00 a mile and thus the market will shrink. At some point demand will come back if and when the economy comes back and prices will rebound. I have no idea if we'll ever get back to $10.00 a mile.
  14. Mostly sailboats, 24-70', typical brokerage stuff. It was the first business I bought when I got out of college. I didn't make much, but I learned a lot.
  15. Sort of like the early 80s when inflation led to high interest rates to get it in check which started a long chain reaction. It began in 80 or 81 and didn't stop until 86. We were trading boats for anything because you just couldn't get a loan, but it did recover. Who knows this time what's going to happen. It's not static for sure.
  16. Yea, I was in the boat business in the early 80s and saw it happen. I also saw it happen with exotics at the same time. I had a friend who sold Ferraris and couldn't give them away at the time. Two years later he couldn't find cars fast enough.
  17. Now is a good time to buy and your biggest expense is normally the depreciation. The market of those who 'need' to sell will dry up and prices will begin to rebound which should offset some if not all of your expenses if your buy right.
  18. What happened? I used CSL Auto Transport the last few times and while not the cheapest quote, they are really good. John (the two car transport driver) couldn't possibly be more careful and they do what they say they are going to do. I'm really a happy customer. I used JP and they sucked. I hear so many horror stories so I'm really cautious who I'll use. We really need a thread here that we can keep with transport reviews. When someone like you gets a bad one, I want to know about it.
  19. I saw the matt finish, really more like eggshell, at the dealer in Saint Louis and it's spectacular in person. I also saw the same color Gallardo at Lamborghini Chicago. It's really stunning. Again, another color that's very tough to photograph.
  20. It's on a truck on it's way to Seattle now. Should be back home on Sunday or Monday.
  21. No rush, I just wanted to make sure you got it.
  22. I love the photos of your car. A bunch of us are going to take our Lambos up the pass this winter on just the right day for a little snow driving.
  23. Thanks Sameer, they came with the car, but I think LOC gets them from an aftermarket source. Loved the video of you guys running around town. Very cool!
