  1. Yeah, he's a boss. Makes his SO sign a huge contract because he ostensibly believes it will ensure she adheres to terms and conditions in said contract.

*Signs long winded contract to not sell Ford GT - sells it 48 hours after delivery*

:lol2: I had forgotten about that, but that's pretty rich isn't it?

  2. Agreed toyo doesn’t make a r888 or r888r in a front profile for the huracan or performante. It’s a weird really thin size 245/30/20. Lots of other options, whether is Oem Pzero garbage (good to only 1000hp :). Optional Pirelli Corsa which is standard on the Performante and a really nice tire for performance overall.

Then you have the barely street legal tire Pirelli Trofeo R, which is what I’ve gone to recently and is very very good tire in the warm climates. Almost nobody has used these on a street car in the USA, in fact I could only confirm one set being installed anywhere in south Florida between 3 Lamborghini dealers which was by our LP member SV-N-IT in an old car. Besides the fact that Pirelli doesn’t even list this size as available on their website, it is a OEM Lamborghini spec tire for the Nurburing record!!! There is usually less than 6 tires available at one time in the USA over the past year but Tirerack says they can special order them.

So are you running Trofeo R's in the rear? I've been wondering if anyone had tried those with TT's, and if so how they hooked on the street compared to the Toyo's.

  3. Any other recommendations on the lowering situation? I really would like for it to be adjustable but, seemingly, not an option.

The Novitec setup is adjustable as it's basically the KW HAS (height adjustable system) with Novitec's name on it. It uses an adjustable spring perch and new springs with your stock shocks.

  4. This is all super simple. Here is what I have setup and it's very easy to work with.

    Samsung Smart thing hub.

    Standard Switches: Leviton DZ15S-1BZ

For the 3/4 way setups, you just need a 'coordinating' switch'. Also, if you want a dimmer on a multi-way, you only need 1 dimmer switch. Much less expensive than the regular switches and you can control switch sets that aren't wired together. For instance, my wrap around porch has two sections that are on two completely different wiring circuits. With these switches any switch I push controls them all.

The cool thing is you can use other sensing devices like a Ring doorbell to turn on porch lights, or act as a motion sensor. Lots of cool shit can be done pretty easily, once you stomach $40 switches.

Biggest thing when buying the switches is obviously make sure they are rated for the load. If you are controlling fans you need a dedicated fan switch. Wiring a dimmer to a fan thinking it will control speed will fubar everything.

Is it possible to get smart switches that still use the old style toggles for the manual switches, or are they all the more modern flat rocker type?

  5. I saw this minutes via text from Fikse after he posted it...can't believe the huracan gets pulled that hard. Maybe UGR really is the ones who have the clutch setup right. No other reason I can see for 800hp 3600lbs huracan to lose to a 3150lb mclaren at 700hp so badly when they have an equal HP to weight ratio.

Fikse always make the exciting real deal vids!!! great work.

Maybe we can arrange a lower hp level for a UGR car compared to this mclaren..hmmm

I doubt the HP claim on the TT car, but regardless you are correct about the tranny as you can see it lose ground on every shift. Kevin has stated here before that getting the clutch setup right is tricky even for a bolt-on (I don't think UR will do a bolt-on and leave the tranny stock like this tuner did), and that there are a lot of poorly shifting TT cars out there.

  6. I was going to say. Hannity teased an interview with him last night. So it didn’t happen!?

Nope. Apparently the guy was scheduled to do interviews with 5 networks (including FOX) and disappeared from whatever room he had been waiting in. Don't think anyone has heard where he is since then. Maybe someone with MGM got him to leave now that there is a dispute over the timeline?

  7. I saw that, but it doesn't look as sharp IMO not much different exterior :(

Yeah, they've made the nose so smooth all over that it seems kind of bland and lacks any defining features. The other thing that drives me crazy is this whole "trickle up" approach some manufacturers are using now. Rather than put the newest styling and features in the more expensive models first and letting them trickle down to the less expensive cars, they're putting them in the less expensive cars first and then the more expensive ones down the road. LR did this with the Evoque, and now the Velar, and MBZ did it with the new C-class, etc. The Velar does look good overall IMO, but if you get into many options at all you're firmly in RRS territory, which has higher end materials if not the newest electronics (yet). But the big deal breaker on the Velar for me are the engine choices. Definitely don't want a diesel or turbo-4, and the SC V6 is not very impressive IMO. Think I'd stick with a RRS with the turbo V8 instead of a Velar for the moment.

  8. The timeline just changed a bit after tonight's briefing.

The security guard was shot 6 minutes BEFORE the concert was fired upon. That puts time around 9:59pm. Guard was shot through the door. The security guard then radioed down what happened to hotel security. Police did not know he he been shot until they encountered the guard when they reached the 32nd floor. Police said they were fired upon while in the hallway, an estimated 200 rounds.

This might also account for the different sounds in videos that we've seen. He was firing toward the hallway at the police at some point.

The fact he had to fire at police to suppress their advancement and switch back to firing at the concert, I believe helped give the pauses essential for many concertgoers to run and escape.

Saw that a little while ago, and yes that puts things in a different perspective. Not sure why the shooter shot the security guard before he had even started his main attack, but presumably he assumed the guard (who was up there for an unrelated reason) was onto him somehow even though he hadn't started firing. But it also sharpens the question of why he stopped shooting when he did, after only 10 minutes. With the original timeline showing him stopping around the time he shot the guard, I was assuming he thought an assault on his room was imminent and killed himself, but if he didn't even start the attack until after that, and no one appeared outside his room or tried to come in for an hour after he stopped, why did he stop firing and when did he kill himself? He apparently still had plenty of ammo.

  9. I honestly thought everyone was kidding at first saying Fowler left on time....since you can CLEARLY hear even in that video that fowler left a half second early. I guess thats just one of the negatives of this type of roll racing. More of a light operator fault for not red lighting the race since the cars weren't even remotely lined up. To be fair, I would have NOT given a re-run given the rules and that there was money/competition involved. I still dont understand based on the angles of how un even the cars were, and the fact that the green lambo left early, that the race was'nt red lit, but according to the rules, thats a win regardless.

"Early" meaning what? If you mean he accelerated before the GTR did, then yes I agree (so what?). If you mean he left half a second before the light turned green, then no, I don't hear (or see) it in that video. Looks to me like he timed it almost perfectly, and the light operator must have thought it was legal too or as you say he would have red-lighted it.

  10. It was not an hour, it was 12 minutes according to the police who went in

No. The police may have been talking about 12 minutes until the first officers pinned down where he was and were in the vicinity of his room, as there were a couple of officers with or near the security guard who was shot 12-13 minutes after he started shooting (and 2-3 minutes after he stopped firing), but they didn't blow his doors and enter the room for another hour, after they got several additional officers (SWAT etc.) on scene.

  11. Dope for different areas he wanted to reach out to in a general area to blanket the area where hundreds of targets are at is smart...does not take much aim or accuracy if you have hundreds of targets in that area. I really do not want to get involved here but you can not compare a bump stock to a real machine gun/full auto AR10 or 15. It just does not compare. The bump stocks are crap and a with a single stage trigger you can shoot just as fast...but never as fast as a machine gun. I would never own a bump stock. Their were NO machine guns/full auto weapons in his poessession. The shooter clearly had more time to shoot continuously and just stop for mag changes or move to other position in room. We are lucky he did not do that otherwise would have easily doubled those numbers of dead/injured...alot of down time between shots fired.

+1. And not only that, apparently he thought when he saw the security guard in the hallway and shot him in the leg that entry into his room was imminent, and went ahead and offed himself. But it was another hour before LE actually entered his room. Now maybe if he had kept shooting they would have gotten in there faster than that, but if he had kept firing he clearly could have fired 2x or 3x the number of rounds he did before they stopped him (he only fired for 10 minutes).

  12. Your counter argument just says that if the military is going to mutiny the citizenry still doesn’t need arms.

Um, what? The reason the military would "mutiny" in that scenario is because they were ordered to attack armed civilians. Assuming/hoping for a military coup or military opposition to an oppressive government in the absence of such an order is an entirely different (and much less likely) scenario. The government isn't nearly as likely to order the military to attack unarmed civilians.

  13. Firearm transfer laws are a Fereral matter hence the goverenence by a FFL(Federal Firearms License). Christ sakes this place is erroding into a.....nevermind.

I'll come back when educated people are here with meaningful content. Until then I'll be elsewhere.

    Later

We aren't talking about FFL's. We're talking about casual sales between private parties, which are not subject to any federal requirements. You were correct earlier when you said that a simple Google search would answer this question, but for whatever reason you apparently haven't performed one. Perhaps Roman might care to clear this up. Or you can check out this state by state list of laws on private sales (which would be unnecessary if the feds required all sales to go through FFL's): Private Gun Sale Laws by State
