The bottom line is both cars are absurdly fast and we still don't really know which one is faster as they never got a clean run in that day (traffic was a problem which is why the video is so short). I talked to both of them within a day or two of that run (and there were actually 2 or 3 more attempts but it was a spur of the moment thing and conditions just weren't right), and neither of them was claiming it proved anything one way or the other. I think that may also have been before Kyle's car (the G) got its last round of upgrades. Would love to see them go at it again with a clear road and get the start and shifts right, etc.

Very sweet--love VI on all G's, and the 560 is the best of all!

Great results man!! Why not keep it at a 6psi daily on pump gas it should yeild 700+-whp.
I'm sure it would probably be fine on pump gas at 6 psi, but given that I can get 110 out of the pump a couple of miles from my house I'd rather play it safe with anything over 4 psi.

Picked mine up today. This seems to be the best site for discussing stuff too:
Here are a couple more good resources:
I'm liking mine a lot now that I've gotten a couple of kinks worked out. Google maps & navigation and Google voice search are really handy, as is the Weatherbug app and a few others I installed.

Incredible garage! But that is just the "display" side, right? I know there has to be a Snap-On toolbox the size of a minivan sitting around in there somewhere.

I picked one up Friday. Have been using a BB 8830 for the last couple of years, and making the transition from non-touch screen to the touch-screen has been somewhat of a challenge so far, but it's early. My initial feedback thus far is that that viewing messages (office email or texts), web browsing, taking and sending pics (which the 8830 didn't even do), etc. is much, much better on the Droid, which you would expect. The only major downside I've seen so far relates to typing messages. At this point I am much slower (and somewhat frustrated) with typing on the Droid, whether using the virtual or physical keyboard as compared to the keyboard on the BB. Which seems rather odd given the tiny keys on the BB, but it's true. It may just be that it's more different than inferior and I may be fine in a few more days (I hope). I can also already tell that the battery life probably isn't going to be as good as the BB, but I expected that for this type of device, and I do think it will last a day even with heavy use. I just won't be able to skip a day or two of charging it like I could with the BB. Phone functionality seems good on my end, although my wife told me I sounded kind of like I had a cold--not sure if that's a one-time issue or not. And the speakerphone seems much better (and louder) than the BB. Of course I had to change the default notification from the robot like "Droid" sound immediately--fine for teenagers I guess but considering my 20 year old son was laughing at me I don't think I'll give my partners and clients a chance.

Doug Levins basic bolt-on kit is 25k installed and makes 650whp at 4psi, 800whp at 8psi, and 950whp at 12psi.
Where did you get this information? Not trying to stir anything up, just asking.

I have done many performance launches in the past, and with the power off the TT, the car just spins wildly. Honestly, I was more worried about the slipping clutch and avoiding hitting the rev limiter, the launch was the least of my worries. I was hoping the clutch would hold the power so I could see what the car would trap. The car will definitely trap higher than 140 on the pump mode with a new clutch.
Aaron
The spinning wildly is what I would have expected. I'm just surprised you were able to pull a 1.9-2.0 60' time without being able to get the revs up before the clutch engaged (based on your response I'm assuming you gave it moderate throttle until the clutch engaged and then floored it). That 60' time is a lot better than I would have expected without benefit of some type of launch control or direct control of the clutch.
-
Aaron, how were you launching the car? Just using the "performance launch mode" (Sport on, ESP off, and floor it), or were you doing something else? I haven't heard of anyone trying E-gear power launches with a TT car (and I have held off trying one so far) so I'm very curious. Props for getting your cars out to the track and running them!

Can you still paint/powdercoat the wheels all flat black (lip and center)?
Thank you
I'm sure it could be done.

Ronnie, are these the same rims that Kyle has on his Orange Gallardo?
Don't think so. I believe his are HRE's. These are Iforged. The styles are very similar though. The funny thing is with all the grief Underground gets about putting those wheels on every Gallardo they work on, they actually had nothing to do with mine. I've bought lots of Iforged wheels, and my contact there made these up for someone else who didn't follow through on the order, so he told me he had them in stock ready to ship, so I grabbed them. I had wanted an all black wheel from the beginning (not necessarily this style but I do really like them).

Ronnie, NOW you are talking. BAD ASS rims, brotha!!
Thanks Fadi. You need to post up some more pics too--love the orange!

Post some more pics man, gorgeous car!
Thanks! Here are a few more. These were all taken yesterday afternoon BTW. The second one was taken at the same spot as the one above (obviously), but the photographer edited it to make it much taller and narrower, and I'm not sure what he did to the car but it looks like glass or liquid metal.

painting the rivets would finish it off
All black would be fine, but there's a method to my madness. When the car is going down the road the rivets and the chrome lugs create a small spinning circle inside a large spinning circle that actually looks really cool.

yes
VRalexander had so many cameras everywhere I was expecting him to unzip his fly and have one on his Jimmy as well.
Lol! Glad we haven't seen that footage yet. Seems like there were cameras everywhere, which is great for those of us who couldn't make it--thanks!

At least that's the reaction I had to this pic--the Dark Knight has to be around there somewhere:

Great news for RSC.. their bumper holds together at 217mph!
I was just going to post that--Kyle's body guy must have used some serious epoxy on that splitter! And we may find out how well it holds up at 230 or so tomorrow--Kyle only got in the one pass.

Holy shi* on that spinning 911! And great photo. Hope that guy is ok. Excellent thread going here!
Really surprised at this outcome

That is the same car that ran 241 mph at the TX Mile recently, and it's capable of 1,400+ rwhp and 26 psi or more. I don't know if it was running that much boost on that run, however, or if so how much power it was making--as noted, that run may have been before the last upgrades to the car.
