  1. Perfect is very difficult to live up to. I don't think that word should be used with ANY car body part as almost everything without fail (OEM or not) requires work to make it right. If you doubt me, ask your local lambo shop how much prep work an oem murci/lp 640 or diablo bumper needs before its acceptable.

I completely agree with you. But if a vendor uses that word, he can't complain if the customer won't accept anything less. And frankly, if the grills or splitter don't fit properly, that's not just less than perfect, it's less than reasonable. But we'll see. Hopefully these few preliminary reports aren't signs of a pervasive problem, or at least one that can't be remedied easily.

  2. With all the talk about the wait being necessary to ensure a "perfect" product, I'm not going to be a happy camper if it's anything less than that. The color match on the prepaints I can understand because there is always a risk in that, but the issues with the grills and the c/f piece are unacceptable.

But LAMBO-N-IT said his grills and c/f piece were perfect--maybe he can clarify how closely he's looked at them. Could be a quality control issue.

  3. You are 3M'ing it that quick after paint? I was told to let the paint breathe for 30 days before 3Ming it.

I asked Hersh about that (he had mine done before shipping it), and he said with the way the body shop down there bakes them it wasn't necessary for them to cure more than a few days. I hope he's right, although I'm not sure there would be a way to tell unless you removed the film at some point.

  4. Also, the front grill opening looks smaller than the space available. Is that the case with the LP560 as well?

    Happy Trails.

This came up several pages back. The grill will cover the entire opening. The problem I see here is based on the earlier post the area behind the grill should have been left black and not painted orange, because the orange part will be visible through the grill.

  5. You might try this at evilbay. Looking at the pictures it does look like the lens is part of the casing and not seperate.

I've actually exchanged emails with that seller going back a few days, and the problem is he has no idea why it was removed from the car and won't guarantee that it works. Which leads back to my question. If the lens is removeable, it wouldn't matter if it works or not as I could swap lenses onto my headlight. If not, then buying a non-working headlight is money down the drain.

  6. Honda lost a lawsuit based on a 3.75% odo error...id be curious if the odometer is 10% off as well..i see that doltmo has done a visual, has anyone done a official calibrated odo reading besides what the dealer is saying?

I haven't (and would also be interested to hear if someone has), but I'd bet a significant sum of money that my odo is off at least 10%. It was very noticeable the first time I drove the car.

  7. Hi Ronnie,

I have had a couple of cars experience some e gear related shifting issues at the 1000 horsepower level. We are currently in the process of re writing files in the factory control modules to correct this. There are definitely a handful of differences that must be considered when TTing an e gear car.

Thanks for the feedback Jason. It seemed to me there must be some issues once the power level is increased beyond a certain point.
