  1. Hey Ronnie, thanks man, I am doing alright. Kind of in the middle of a crisis of figuring out what I want to be when I grow up. That was a great day for both of us man, you got to ride in a car you eventually bought and I got to meet a great family. I changed my screen name because everyone on the board thought I still worked at Lamborghini Atlanta, and it got a little old. I was trying to transition away from that side of the business and I didn't want to confuse people on the board. The place has since been sold to another owner this past week, it was a little bit sad for me. I felt like I still had a cornerstone at the place, now it is going corporate.

I have been riding bikes for over 30 years now, racing and leisurely riding. If you should ever happen to have a question, I am a good resource! I am currently trying to learn the car market again, and a bit has changed. Still fun though. Great to hear from you man, keep in touch!

That was a great day indeed, and yes it was the screen name change that I missed out on as I remember you being on the forum but not under that name. Sorry to hear that about LA, but hopefully they'll still be able to provide something resembling the personal touch that you had. I have no idea how things were behind the scenes, but you certainly seemed like you loved what you were you were doing. Great to hear from you as well!

  2. Damn, I just realized who Rouleur is; he gave me my first Gallardo drive in a new SE in '05 or '06 in ATL. That wound up costing me a lot of money over the next several years, lol. Now I know who to reach out to for bike advice too. :D Hope you're doing well Chris!

  3. Thanks for spreading unsubstantiated and false rumors. :icon_thumleft:

Yeah PCJR, how could you be so dumb as to think that '09 VI LP560 Heffner TT might be (you did say "if") the same car as the other '09 VI LP560 Heffner TT owned in the same place (in fact by the same guy!).

  4. Shows how much you know...

Do you elect every single worker in your local and national governments, do you elect all the people in your various governments councils and commissions? On what planet do you live exactly? This myth is mainly based on the European Commission which is indeed unelected, however, the European Commission is appointed by national governments which are elected and they are also subject to approval in the European parliament which again is made up of directly elected officials from each member state, and the EC is also subject to regular review and answer to the European Parliament. Also the Commission can not make final decisions on EU law or policy. That prerogative belongs to the Council of Ministers (which is made up of ministers from the governments of each member state which are elected) and the European Parliament. So... No... You're mostly wrong.

There are other more subtle things that the Bruxelles bureaucracy is guilty of and should indeed change, things which the average poor sap has no clue about.

Where did I say every single worker in an entire government must be elected to have a democracy? Does the term straw man mean anything to you? The point is the people making the laws (or with final say over making the laws) are not put in that position directly by the people the laws govern, which is obvious from your brief description of the byzantine setup they have in place. The last I heard this Council of Ministers makes most or all of its decisions behind closed doors, without even making a transcript of its discussions available. Does that sound democratic? Now if you want to argue that it's not that much more undemocratic than the British Parliament, that may be a different issue, as the BP is not as democratic as we are here in the U.S. The EU as an economic union of some sort made sense, but the desire to transform it into a political union did not IMO.

  5. I'm sure everyone who voted for exit is a racist rube who doesn't understand that giving up your national sovereignty to a bunch of unelected bureaucrats is for their own good. Why can't the poor saps just pay their taxes and let their betters govern them?

  6. For a moment, lets assume we create a society with no guns available either legally or illegally. This bastard wasn't out to just kill one or two people, he wanted mass casualties. If guns are no longer an option to a disturbed individual intent on causing maximum losses, they won't just settle for a sharp object, they will go the Timothy McVeigh route and load a moving truck with fertilizer. Then instead of 50 dead, you have possibly lost every life present in the club that night.

People hell bent on destruction will find a way to kill. I look at it like the devil you know is better than the devil you don't know. Yes guns are currently the easy option, but if somehow they weren't, I fear these disturbed minds coming up with far worse options.

Funny you should mention that because before this past weekend, the deadliest mass killing in U.S. history was carried out with bombs at a school in Michigan, killing 45. In 1927. But that is rarely mentioned today because no guns were involved.

  7. The crazy thing is the guy has enough of the major car magazine editors in his pocket that he got past the last round of lawsuits and internet meltdowns, company failure, etc. and seemed to be busier than ever, yet he's right back in the same spot? "Management issues" is the understatement of the year.

  8. eBay is a completely different animal as it has its own set of rules defining a sale. It is an auction and auction rules have to be followed. It is a contract between buyer and seller, and the contract is enforceable.

This is true, but even there I seriously doubt a huge mistake on a price would have to be honored (I haven't read their terms of sale). No contract has been formed if one party made a major mistake because that party never intended to be bound to the mistaken price.

  9. I'd like to know where these Democratic states are that Trump is going to flip. I've not seen a shred of polling data that would remotely back it up. Saying someone "will" do this or that is easy, but where is the evidence? And not anecdotal evidence about Sanders supporters voting for him. I'm not saying a few of those don't exist, just that they will be statistically insignificant. Anecdotes always remind me of the well known New York film critic who claimed to be shocked after Nixon won 49 states against McGovern because "I don't know anyone who voted for him."

  10. Isn't that the strategy BHO used for his entire first term? Everything was Bush's fault. Liberals and the MSM never allowed criticism of him, if you said anything negative the only response was "YOU'RE RACIST," as if disagreeing with BHO campaign for office meant you were a slave owning confederate flag waving sister humper.

Once again, we are left picking the lesser of two evils, and as many flaws I see with Trump, I would rather have Blow Job Bill back in office before we let his wife anywhere near the White House.

The MSM is always going to put their thumb on the scale for the Dems when it matters. And yes, this is a clear lesser of two evils election, but fortunately I live in a state that the GOP would carry if it nominated Charles Manson, so I don't have to struggle with it. I do think the Libertarian candidate will get considerably more votes than usual, unless a credible Republican runs as a third-party candidate.

  11. Bro....It's ok to be angry and feel humiliated.

We understand your frustration about future President Trump.

Why would I feel humiliated? I'm happy to tell anyone who wants to know I voted for Cruz in the primary, and not the guy who tried to get Hillary elected President in 2008, and who wants to make sure everyone has health insurance and the government pays for it. President Trump may (and I emphasize may) be a better option than President Clinton, but it's not going to happen. Just make sure and own your role in electing her by nominating the one person in a 17 person field that she can beat.

  12. BHO and Trump are cut from the same cloth. Both narcissistic and pathological liars. But I didn't mention BHO. Yes, he is a flip flopper, liar and a horrible CIC. But Im not sure what the point of that was. No one said O wasn't any of those things...

Yep. You gotta love the Trumpbots' response to any criticism of him. They can't defend what he says, so it's always "What about Obama?" or "What about Hillary?" as if criticizing Trump means you support one or both of them. And the great irony is that by nominating Trump they have ensured Hillary's election, as he is likely the only candidate she can beat. You can bet your life they'll blame everyone but themselves or Trump for his defeat though.

  13. What makes him a "thoroughly disgusting human being"? He has employed thousands of people. Not one person has come forward to tell us what a monster he is. NOT ONE. ZERO. NADA. ZIP. Not even any ex employees have anything bad to say.

Women all claim he hates them and he's against them. But he has an endless string of female executives. All of which have had nothing but good things to say about them.

Kids are normally a reflection of their parents. If Trump is this horrible, racist monster, then why did his kids turn out to be respectable adults? They should have turned out to be drug addict disease spreading DJs like Paris Hilton. Shouldn't they have learned from racist, woman hating dad to be a monster like him? Looks to me like they were raised very well by someone who taught them well. And it was not Ivana.

His kids are good people. His female employees saying nothing but good things about him. His minority employees saying nothing but good about him. Looks to me like people who have never met him and don't know him are the only ones who have bad things to say about him.

Here's a video from one of this BLACK FEMALE EXECUTIVES. Again...has nothing to say but good things about Trump and family.

I think he's just a pissed of rich guy who's tired of the way things are headed and he's not afraid to say it because he's not a career politician and has nothing to loose by speaking about what most Americans are thinking about.

Obama standing up on a podium and making excuses for criminals and blaming the police.....THAT man is a disgusting human being. The worst thing Trump has said is that Rosie ODonnell is a "fat pig". And she is.

Oh let's see. Just off the top of my head:

He physically mocked a disabled reporter. I'd call that pretty disgusting. In fact, I'd be horrified if my 8 year old kid did it, and he would never forget what happened next.

He claimed he has a big schlong during a Presidential debate.

He claimed a well known female reporter was unfair to him and implied it was because she was having her period.

He made fun of the looks of one of his opponents' wives.

He made fun of the looks of his only female opponent.

He claimed the Bush administration knowingly lied about Iraqi WMD's to get us into the war in Iraq.

He suggested Cruz's father may have been associated with Oswald prior to the Kennedy assassination.

He said John McCain wasn't a war hero because he was captured (I wonder how Trump would have held up during those years McCain was tortured?).

He defended Putin and when asked about Putin having journalists and political enemies killed replied "Our country does plenty of killing also."

He bragged about having affairs with married women.

He's being sued for fraud by people who enrolled in Trump "University," based on numerous allegedly false representations about the "program."

I'm sure I can come up with many more examples, but if you're a Trump supporter I doubt they will make any difference. You're either ok with anything that may come out of his mouth, or you're disgusted by much of it. I'm the latter.

  14. I'm libertarian too. TBH I think Trump is a libertarian. He just ran republican because as a libertarian ticket you can't win he presidency.

I wish I thought that, but he says way too many things that are flatly inconsistent with it (e.g., on health care, everyone is going to be covered and the government is going to pay for it). I think he's mostly a garden variety liberal who knew he had a better chance in a crowded GOP field than he did against Hillary. But this isn't the place for a lengthy discussion given the Wheels-A-Thon that is currently running.

  15. The 2016 election is a textbook example of campaigning on emotional sentiment and vague claims rather than specific policies. Trump has successfully gathered a cult following (I use this term loosely) by playing to the *existing* anti-political sentiment - a true opportunist, a true populist. An example of a successful campaign on emotional sentiment rather than specific policies: Cruz speaking to a Trump supporter recently, when Cruz asks the supporter what policies of Trump's he supports, he simply states "everything" and proceeds to call Cruz a liar. Unfortunately, this is indicative of all Trump supporters I have spoken with with one exception; not to say there aren't those out there who can articulate their support through specifics, I just do not believe that is the majority. On the other side of the coin you have various interviewers asking Sanders supporters on college campuses and at campaign rallys the same question, what *exactly* they support, the overwhelming answer is still "everything".

President Obama defeated McCain on the same campaign tactic in 2008 - "Hope & Change". This is the campaign strategy that continues to prove its effectiveness, and it will mean Trump wins over Hillary in November.

This is a good post, except for your conclusion that Trump wins in November. Sanders may be misguided and ignorant, but he also seems honest, and he doesn't say conflicting things twice a day. Trump on the other hand has been on both sides of every issue and is a thoroughly disgusting human being, with much higher negatives than even Hillary, and may be the only person the GOP could have nominated who can't beat her. I think we're looking at another President Clinton unless the FBI and DOJ intervene.

  16. JMO, but if your friends describe you as annoying, you're probably pretty darned annoying. And if you come across as a jackass in the first call before a business has done anything for you or you have become a customer, a busy business may not want anything to do with you. And even more so if the business involves a somewhat extended relationship (e.g., having a car and working on it over several weeks as opposed to simply taking your credit card info and shipping a product).

  17. Chadwick's is great, but given that it works like a detail spray, you want to limit it to cars with a relatively small amount of dust/dirt on them. For somewhat dirtier cars I'd use Optimum No Rinse (ONR), which you use by putting a small amount in a bucket of water and then using microfiber towels that you soak in it and wring out, and then gently go over a panel at a time. So you're using more liquid on the surface than you get with a spray on product like Chadwick's, which will loosen larger amounts of surface dirt better. But if you have a really dirty car you're probably better off to stick with a hose and the traditional method. I use Chadwick's a lot on our cars that are only driven in nice weather.

  18. And to think... UGR cars still don't just dump the exhaust out some random hole in the car. We still run gasoline. We still have full interiors. We still have AC. No fuel cell. No plexi-glass. OEM or upgraded stock brakes.

They look stock to 98% of people.

    And they win....

:iamwithstupid: -1 for leaving off no fat sidewall tires out back though. :icon_mrgreen:
