1999-2002 Viper guys are all over these tires too.
I have my almost brand new Michelin Pilot Super Sport's for sale after replacing them with the Corsa's - where would you advise selling them, Viper form or just fleabay?

Tom,
Are you certain that the clutch hydraulics are working correctly? If so, how did you confirm that?
You could have an issue with air in the system, or a flex line that has gone soft, or a master cylinder that has a bad piston seal. It could also be the throw out bearing/slave cylinder, which is engine out anyway, but I would suspect you will see some clutch fluid (and fluid loss in the reservoir) dripping out the bottom if you had a problem there.
Just asking because it's always best to rule out the cheaper/easier problem areas.
I did a writeup on here on replacing the master cylinder. And I would recommend using a vacuum bleeder to really flush out the system.
Philip
I've had the clutch fluid changed and bled, there's not visible clutch fluid after the 2000 mile road trip and there's no free play in the clutch pedal with good travel. Next step i think is to use a borescope to see...

Hi All,
I just wanted to update you all as we got to the bottom of the shifting issue with Jason Giannetti of Giannetti Performance who I would highly recommend (377 Sheffield Ave, West Babylon, NY 11704 (631) 587-0268)!
The main issue is that the clutch isn't fully disengaging which is causing issues shifting out of and into gears, especially at speed. There may be damage to the synchros and gears themselves but I am able to drive the car with no huge issues with this knowledge now (to get into reverse I'll stop the engine, shift then start the engine again). I'll be taking the engine out to have a new tried and tested kevlar clutch put in along with a potential transmission rebuild this winter.
I don't know the make of the clutch unfortunately but apparently it's not the one UGR installed, time will tell.
As for the shifter, for now we have tapped a hole in the existing shaft, put a 5mm screw in and then tapped a hole in a screw matching the thread pattern of the shifter for a quick fix until replaceing the shaft this winter when the engine is out to minimize labor costs (a few pics attached).
If anyone's in the tri state area I really would recommend Jason, great pricing and an extremely knowledgeable guy!
Thanks,
Tom

Nice pictures....looks like you had the track all to yourself.
How fast did you do the 1/2 mile in and trap speed?
Also, how long was the drive from the track to Charleston?
Yes it was great - 4 of us on the track, they didn't have the timing board set up in the end, coupled with my clutch disengagement issue I had to shift very slowly so really just booted her in 2nd and 3rd gear!
Drive was about 1hr15 mins, Midway Motorsports is the place, great owner and the place has a huge amount of untapped potential...

Beautiful!!! I want to TT one so bad. Maybe I should just grab a salvage title vehicle and don't so I can just rip on it guilt free.
Very nice car. Awesome pics!
You should do it, so much fun! Thanks man

Does the clutch rattle around at idle?
Nope...

Smoky burnouts while riding the clutch will thin it out pretty quickly. It must be close to the spec if you are able to drive at all.
Stimpy - I spoke with a couple of people on this point and they mentioned this could be quite dangerous as this would most likely just heat up the flywheel and pressure plate creating hot spots which will result in chatter every time the clutch is let out as it's a kevlar clutch they don't burn easily?
-
Out of curiosity is it a RPS clutch?
All I've been told is that it was changed after UGR did the build and we have no idea who changed it... if anyone knows the past owner and could help that would be great, if not it's an engine out job over winter to find out more...
Interesting point contrary to the above is the tech I went to said he could see purple marks on each of the clutch bolts which apparently UGR do on their builds like their signature... so he thinks UGR did the clutch. Maybe what happened is the old owner got the UGR clutch rebuilt / re coated perhaps?
Who the hell knows at this point... lol

I know what i'm doing Tuesday at the drag strip then! I'll make sure to video this... Maybe I shouldn't have put a brand new set of tires on...

With 1000+ HP, clutches being too thick is a pretty quick and easy thing to fix. Let me know if you need help with that?
Tell me more.
I have been informed the best course of action is to replace the clutch with a tried and tested option. We have no idea who installed the current clutch / what brand it is etc.

Car looks great. Glad you got the clutch resolved. I'm close to DC!
I haven't actually got it resolved just yet... long story but it's drivable and over winter i'm going to pull the engine, replace the clutch, replace various bits in the transmission upon inspection which will include gears 1-3, syncros bearings etc., new manual gear shaft, upgraded lift system to LP640 and a few other bits to get the transmission working 100%
The clutch issue seems to be that the plates are too thick and they basically don't completely disengage.. still investigating.
If you're about and want to join the drive Thursday the 27th or the 4th let me know!

Really? It looks more like Blu Hera than Scuro from your pics.
Enjoy your trip. Sounds like fun!
This is very true... I'll investigate.
Appreciate it, very much looking forward to the drive! The double sided 3M tape is a good shout i'll order some now thanks!

Great looking car, what color is that?
Also I must say, the placement of your plate on the front of your car is making my OCD bounce of the limiter
Your trip sounds great, enjoy and stay safe.
Haha I know what you mean.... after 2 parking tickets in NYC for not having a front number plate I gave in and got the tow eye bracket... I'll be taking it off for the road trip though!
The colour is Blu Scuro I believe.

Dusting off an old thread rather than start a new one. I'm having the same issue on my 03 Murcie. Window stuck open - can hear a clicking sound - but won't go back up. Is there a way to get the window closed until my mechanic (in a different city) can deal with this properly?
Thanks!
I had a problem where sometimes the windows would work and sometimes they wouldn't, the problem was a faulty window ECU...

FYI everyone my Pzero Corsa's which i've had on order from tire rack for 2 months were just delivered today, they seem to be back in stock for what I imagine to be a very short time...

I'm currently having my Murcielago twin turbo'd and was wondering if anyone owns one on here. Looking for tips and pointers. I drive my cars so it will be rallied and cross countried just the same as it has been under my care for the last four years...
Happy to fill you in with my 12 months of ownership of my UGR 2003 Murci, shoot away with specific questions or drop me a PM and we can talk over the phone which may be easier....
Tom

Just my 2 cents on sourcing this, I recently purchased my TOB from eurospares, bought it in GBP due to the woeful exchange rate and had it shipped to the US for free. Customs charged me $80 but i saved over $1,400 in total.
Hi-Tech also make uprated TOB's if you wanted to go that route, and clutches.
