I spoke to Shmee150 last night and he told me there will be at least one Reventon and multiple Countach attending the event (and more). That sounds interesting imo. If someone joins with a Veneno then my life is complete

I will have to wait until I see one in person. Hopefully when I go to the factory in the end of May, But personally I think it looks pretty cool. I was thinking it would be a lot worse than I think it is. But I came in with a mindset that it would be horrible which it wasn't. Hopefully the reviews are good. I wonder when journalists will get a chance to test it

What's really sad, IMO, is to see Lamborghini "following" instead of "leading" and that applies to both the mechanical and styling progresses. Ok, Lamborghini has a V12 hybrid while others are 6 or 8-cylinders powerplant. But there is nothing "new" about the tech and that also applies to the DCT; dare we even say it's about damn time! As for styling, while it likely won't be bad, there's hardly any wow factor either. Both the Miura and the Countach literally rewrote the automotive history. Why can't Lamborghini do that again now that it has the proper financial support from VAG? And with each iteration of new model, we are witnessing the dilusion of the Italian DNA from the car. Consider this: the CEO, the CTO and the Chief Stylist are all Germans. While there's nothing shabby about German management and engineering at all, Lamborghini is, supposedly, an Italian brand after all. As to the styling --- again, Borkert can't hold a candle anywhere near to Gandini, Perini and even Donckerwolke. His cars simply lack the Italian flair. All Borkert knows is to make them look more complicatd than they really are with all the folds and creases, indents and inlets etc...
Regrets for the rant but I just don't want to be let down as the hype builds up for the launch. Hopefully, Lamborghini will change my mind in about 3 weeks but I am not optimistic about it.
Btw, what happend to the site? Looks like the mods are cleaning house?
I agree with everything completely. All the big people at Lamborghini is German now and you can tell. I mean the video was cool, but the accent of Mohr kills the feeling for me. I always loved Winkelmann but the others are way worse than their predecessors. And yeah, Perini and Donckerwolke really understood the Gandini design and had it in them. Borkert doesn't. It must REALLY hurt for him to know that the father of Countach (Mitja's favorite Lambo) hated his take on it
I am starting to not hate it now finally. But it definitely isn't amazing either.

As we all know the 60 Giro is going to be a strange one. Super expensive and less than half the cars compared to the Grande Giro. Oh and the "No cars prior to VAG's ownership" rule is just daft. It's funny how their slogan is "The future began in 1963." It should be "The future began in 1998" I think. Anyway I am still going to see it. As a fan. Not as a participant or Lambo owner (since I don't own a Lambo. The crazy price will make the quality of the cars in it very high I hope ...

Is there any more info on the specific stops? I was just last night discussing a trip to the factory this Spring because I wanted to re-live the amazing time I had ten years ago. But until now I had not seen anything at all about such event. Ending at the factory like last time?

I can't speak for others but I was wow'd by the car when I saw it person. There's a lot of design cues and aero which are hidden under the camo on the test mules but overall the car looks aggressive and what a V12 Lambo should look like. The performance is also leaps ahead of the Aventador.
That gives me a bit of comfort. The picture I was shown was of like 25% of the rear of the car. So I have no idea how most of the car looks yet. But I am a bit worried.

Borkert should design a tombstone for Centro Stile. It saddens me to say this because my love of cars started out with Lamborghini. Back when I was a kid I used to see a black Diablo on my way to preschool and it was love at first sight. Ever since that first day I saw it I have always had Lambo at the top. Along with Koenigsegg but they are not really in the same class. But Lambo is slowly slipping away. Trouble is I don't feel any sort of love and massive passion for any other brad. McLaren is crap, Ferrari is a bit too safe imo, Porsche can be amazingly epic, but can also be amazingly boring. So Lambo needs to sack Ze German and get a proper design boss to save its reputation and brand. I never thought I would say that. But I just did.

I actually came across a picture today of a small part of the rear. From what I saw I was not impressed. I really hope when I get to see the real car in the end of March that I was wrong today. But right now I am very worried that Mitja Borkert cocked it up. I am not a fan of his work for Lambo if I am honest. He is no Gandini or Perini that's for sure.

Yeeeepp ... Ten years of waiting to experience this. And now its cancelled. That really sucks! I know a lot of cars have already landed in Italy so it will be a massive headache for the owners. I wonder if Lambo will pay back the cost of transport or JUST the entry fee ...? Maybe they can bunch up the Polo Storico Event in September with this one and make it more like 50th was? Any way its very sad and I am stuck with booked tickets and hotels and all that. So I am leaving for Bologna in a few hours time.
