  1. Thanks. Yes the Larini tail pipe is the slanted version, they call it the "slash cut revolver". They do a standard slash cut version too.
  2. Finally all my cosmetic alterations have been completed. Before and after pictures below.
  3. Yes was in two minds whether to go for the Hermeras, they have a similar spoke design to the SV-16. Finally went with Savini as felt the 20" at the rear was more suited to the car and wanted a more unique look which I think has been achieved with the 3 piece construction and custom painting.
  4. Thanks. Went with 20" at the rear and 19" front. Pirelli tyres were a pain to get hold of though as Pirelli UK are not stocking them throughout 2010 (they will be from the start of 2011 though), the Savini UK dealer fortunately managed to source some from the states.
  5. Tyres on, in the country and being fitted to the car on Monday.
  6. Thanks for the responses guys. I managed to find a very similar colour from another wheel manufacturer (HRE) and fortunately they were kind enough to give me the powder coating code. The wheels have just been assembled by Savini and below are a few photos they sent me, very pleased with the finish. Hopefully they will look as good in the flesh and be on my car in about a week.
  7. I've ordered a set of Savini SV-16 wheels for my Murcielago and have stipulated a titanium centre to match the titanium roadster wheels and Gallardo Callisto wheels which Lamborghini OEM make. Savini have had three attempts now and haven't come close. I have contacted Lamborghini but cannot obtain the paint code so was wondering if anyone has had their titanium wheels refurnbished or has done the same thing as me and has a paint code I could use. Unfortunately Savini haven't an actual wheel to match to and are just going off pictures I have sent them. The first picture below shows their latest colour match attempt, the other pictures are what they have attempted to match to. Savini SV-16 latest colour match, appears to be a flat grey not a shiny titanium. The following pictures show what I am looking for.

  9. The front lift system uses power steering fluid to raise the front shocks. The motors in the shocks are there to stiffen the suspension, if left on the auto setting the shocks alter their stiffness based upon the speed of the car but the motors can be operated manually between the 4 settings by using the arrows on the control pad. I think there's a section in the user manual about this. Anyway, if the red error light displays it means you have faulty shocks, nothing to do with the lifting system. Replacing or refurbing the faulty shocks will solve the problem.
  10. Oh dear, just the 'aggressive' rsponse I was expecting. It's a shame that these sort of anonymous sites attract people such as yourself. The aim of this thread was to offer the reason for the red error light and a solution to it, I spent my time writing of my experience and expected it to be well received. All my information has come from Lamborghini Manchester and they were the ones who diagnosed the problem not me! In you previous post you mentioned Lamborghini London, you'll find they are actually part of the same group and my car has had a number of services there, Lamborghini London were the ones who were instructed to check the reason for the red error light on my car by the previous owner and this is documented on my service sheet, no diagnosis was offered and they now have no record of it. There is one of two reasons for this, they couldn't diagnose the fault or due to the car being for sale the remedy to the problem was hidden due to the £6,500 cost involved to solve it which would obviously put off any prospective buyer. You obviously feel that you know better than I so can you please offer some constructive input or take your absusive personality elsewhere.
  11. Could you please explain exactly what has amused you?
  12. Yes i'm afraid it was just done as a favour for me. My contact does quite a bit of business with Koni as they work for a race team and buy shocks from them. Saying that i'm sure other people in a similar position to my contact would be able to get hold of the motors/kits too. This is definitely a common problem though as the main dealer here in the UK has quite a few old shocks which he has replaced for customers in the past.
  13. I'm not not technical expert but a Lamborghini main dealer in the UK carried out the work. Apparently there are motors in the rear shocks as well. The problem can be identified by usung the manual shock absorber settings on the key pad, you need to use a stethoscope right next to the shock absorber body to listen to the motors turning when someone else presses the up and down arrows on the key pad, if you cant hear the motors then they're broken. This can also be reinforced (in my case anyway) when first starting the car and driving at low speeds I had no red error light, when speed was increased the light came on. This is due to the shock abosrber settings being speed sensitive, signals were sent to the motors to alter the settings but as they weren't functioning the error light was displayed. The shocks are manufactured by Koni and unfortunately they do not sell the motors and other individual parts necessary to refurb them, only brand new units are available, approx £1500 each. At the time I decided not to replace as the motors only increase handling at high speeds etc and was going to wait for used ones to become available. Fotunately last week a contact of mine informed me that a friend of his working for Koni was willing to supply the kits for refurb, they have now been completed, I think the cost was around £500 each. I now have developed a problem with the a small amount of air getting trapped when using the lifting system, it keeps the front about 2mm higher and the lifting system light flashes now and again when driving over bumps, not a major issue. Apparently its the valve black which is faulty, over £3000 for the part, again manufactured by Koni. When one problem is solved another one develops with this car, it's never ending. Still love it though.
  14. The red error light on the centre console is indicating a problem with one or more shock absorbers. I had the same problem and found that three out of my four rear shocks were faulty in that the motors inside weren't working.
