  3. Sorry about the location I places this topic. I should have looked a bit deeper for the best location. Stuart

  5. The storm you see in these pics was for real and hell landed there 10min later. I friend wanted to do some shots with cars and I was the test dummy. I had to drive pretty quick around this roundabout, got dizzy doing it, but pics turned out great. Stuart
  6. It was off pretty much straight away. The build quality is amazing, the welds are like fish scales.
  7. I've had the Kreissieg F1 set up for years (love it) but early on I noticed that it would make a tinny vibration sound at about 2,200rpm. Initially I thought it was a heat shield touching some part of the car. Finally I had a dad rev the car to 2,200rpm and I watched out back. I straight away noticed that I spotted the top part of the muffler vibrating very quickly (like a mating male croc vibrates the water) I got a bit of wood (no I wasn't excited) and pushed it on to the top of the exhaust. Straight away it disappeared. So I know that I had to come up with a way to cancel it out straight away. I had some header wrap and used it to kill 95% of the bad vibration. So I let them know of my issues and they send me a new exhaust. When you bang on the old one it sounds very tinny and empty and the new one more dense. A few more years go by and I decide to put the new one on. Pull the ass off and slid the exhaust over the top to find that the pipes don't line up (1" out)....WTF, what a waist of time that was, a year + later and I now have pulled the whole set up off and had a welder make the adjustments to match the up pipes to the new exhaust's downward ends. Going to put it back on this week..... here's what it looked like. You can see the exits lengths of the pipes coming out of the old and new exhaust are about 1" different, that's what needed adjusting on the new exhaust for a match up with the lower pipe work. The lower two pics are of the fixed setup. Stuart
  8. Absolutely by 2nd hand, not at all worth loosing a pile of cash to see a odo with 50kays on it. Been away from the board for ages (not sure why) Just getting my Kreissieg replacement can re welded as the initial one was faulty and the replacement they sent sat in gargae for years. I decided to pull the ass off the Gallardo to find that it wasn't a perfect match. Had the new one adjusted now and ready for a refit this week. As you see in my signature I did one clip with the whole system off (straight from the cats) It was so loud when I first started it up, it barked into life that it scared me....love that. Snuck out the back gate and hoped I didn't get caught and listened to the howel with the windows down for 45min. Ears had a ringing going on for 20min. Stuart
  9. Amazing how they can charge 7k for a clutch.....Massive mark up comes to mind. Rape???....can't be because we allow them to take payment. Stuart
  10. Those numbers are about what I've been seeing. I've got a 04 6 speed (yellow, 7,500miles) that I'm probably going to sell this year. Don't really want to, but I only did 400miles between the last services and got kid 4 on the way. Love the howl of the Kreissieg exhaust every time. Stuart
  11. When I raced one in the 05 Targa Tasmania they cost about early 400's Now a decked out Gallardo will have about AUD$200,000 in options to it. After the first 50k the govt add a 25% lux tax on every dollar up. It's BS, I know it's a small market, but it's a massive form or consumer rape. I've got a Ford GT in the US and if you want one of those from the people the import/convert them in OZ your up for AUD$600k. It's WAY cheaper to import a GT yourself and convert it for pennies on the dollar. Stuart
  12. It sounds like the 430 has the number on the Gallardo from many reviews. I would expect it to be better in many areas then the Gallardo it's got plenty of recent experience. How you rate those areas is up to you, and what your looking for between the two cars.....each to his own! The 430 is a good car, it's had to match and surpass what Lamborghini offered in the Gallardo to attract new and to keep old customers. I'm sure each will make better cars in the future, there's not doubt. I feel that Gallardo's evoloution in the next 10 years will grow quicker then what pace the 430 has set as of now. The G is just new off the line, a rookie with leaps and bounds of improvement to go. The competition between the two will always give us better cars....let the race begin. BD
