  1. No plan for mods at the moment. I'd like to live with it first. The suggestion on Heffner is intriguing! I've read about the many mods done to HP, exhaust, etc. We modified the SL55 last year - reflashed ECU, bigger pulley kit to spool up the supercharger, braided brake lines, high temp brake fluid, slotted rotors and carbon ceramic pads. The car was awesome stock, and the mods made it quicker and sound even meaner and gave it the stopping power needed for the track (it's heavy). I love the exhaust note of the SL and the lambos. Intoxicating! It wasn't what you'd call nimble on the track but on the straights - awesome. Just wrong car for the job but lots of fun. Having driven a friend's 2007 G on the track several times I can't wait to get mine out there. I know the car (stock) will do more than I'm capable of. But once I get comfy with it (like on day 2 ) - who knows?
  2. Thanks guys. Re silver/red & balloon white/red - got 'em both covered. The SL55AMG is silver w red - classic MB colors. The balloon white does have a silver cast in the sun - very changeable which is one of the (many) things I love about the car. It seems to reflect and pick up nearby colors. Yes - Lambo of Sarasota. Guess if it's a small world, the world of lambo is even smaller Speaking of Italian beasts - went to a Ducati Diavel unveiling last night. It's a controversial model in Ducatista circle but I happen to love it. Carbon with red frame would be my choice. Currently I'm out of room for any more vehicles but there's a Ducati in my future....
  3. Awwww...thanks Hannibal for posting pics & for the nice comments. And thanks all for the warm welcome. Carrier says the car should be on the truck next Tuesday or Wednesday (from FL). It can't get here soon enough for me!
  4. Any advice/suggestion to protect windshield from sandblasting while running at Pocono? Found a couple options on internet. No installers for Clearplex nearby. Found DIY products including "Tear Off Guys". I helped install Invisible Mask on friend's G (hood, lights...) so I have a good idea of what's involved in protecting paint. Windshield systems look similar. Plan to remove windshield protection after Pocono so temporary is fine. There are single layer products, and peel off in two or four layers (similar to what Nascar uses). I searched the forum - found one old post but no info. If you can suggest how I should search (if it's already here) - I'll look it up. I'm a new owner. Awaiting delivery of my 2009 (dealer demo) LP-560-4 balloon white. Will be at Pocono and have seen what the grit did to my friend's G. He also ran his Murci at Infineon last year and got sandblasted. I'd like to preserve my windshield. The dealer has already installed clearmask over the entire front of the car and rear wheel arches. Thanks For those who want to know: red interior red calipers e-gear, CCB, clear bonnet cant' wait to get it!
