  1. Was looking at buying a used MB SL-600...its really been hit by depreciation (137K MSRP, selling now for under 80K with warranty). Just wondering if anyone here has had experience with one? I test drove it....its really smooth power, and I love the hard top convertible. Suspensions a little cushy, but adjustable. Would probably rather have an SL55 AMG, but the SL-600 caught my eye because of the color and the V12 engine sounds very cool, especially at high revs... How about maintenance? THE MBs are terrible on maintenance problems to begin with, but what about the SL600 in comparison? WOrse than the "average" MB? Thanks... Rick
  2. Yah, I have an attorney, but I decided not to sue, so its moot. The part I like best is that I decide not to sue Roy...so in gratitude, Roy goes around telling everyone I started the fire. I haven't made any false accusations...just the facts All the italics are quoted directly from Roy cats Rick
  3. Hi everyone. Yah, everyone is asking why now. Why is RL bringing this up a whole year and a half after the event. Well, its because so many of you have been finding tidbits of information about the burnt up car and sending them to me. (For instance, the ebay history), and because RoyCats is pushing my buttons by implying I am responsible for the car burning up. There are ALOT of you out there who have been screwed one way or another by Roy...why don't you post. Maybe Admin can make a new section, "xxx Lemon Stories" Member, Thanks all for doing work for me behind the scenes and giving me all the info... i won't post names, but you know who you are! And about me not seeing the PPI, I accept responsibility for that. That's why I decided to lay low on the whole thing. I am aware it was a stupid thing for me to do, and now I learned my lesson the hard way (to use a cliche). I am not looking for sympathy. The purpose of this post is just to warn some of you about the sales practices about Roy Cats...Yes, he does often sell good cars at a bargain price...but he is selling a lot of lemons too. He is just a fcuking broker after all. Maybe I can save someone from getting one of those lemons. Due Diligence! Regards, Rick PS at least the fcuking alligator seats are burned up with the car...
  4. Roy, show me some respect and stop BSing me. Here's the odometer from the ebay listing. (Thanks to lambopower members for hunting this down for me) 70950 kilometers is equal to 44086 miles.
  5. Roy has contacted me by email, threatening me to "take caution" Its actually titled, "YOU ARE INCORRECT...TAKE CAUTION" He has requested I post his letter in its entirety, so I will: My replies are colored in BLUE. I was forwarded your posting on Lambo Power. As you are aware I am banned from there. I am shocked to see what you wrote, however it is clear that your script comes from Allan, as the reference to 1 1/2 month and 2800 miles was sent to ALLAN only via e-mail.. It was done to determine where these false accusations were coming from...and it worked, so thank you for that. ---NO, I ACTUALLY RECEIVED THAT FROM SEVERAL MEMBERS BY PRIVATE MESSAGE AND EMAIL. ITS BEING SPREAD AROUND LAMBOPOWER, MAKING ME LOOK LIKE A FOOL...THIS ONE THING IS THE STRAW THAT BROKE THE CAMELS BACK You are more than welcome to your opinion. However I am curious if you honestly think I KNOWINGLY sold you a defective car?? Don't you think "shit happens"? --- I AGREE. I FAILED TO PERFORM DUE DILIGENCE. THAT'S WHY I PROMISED YOU NOT TO SUE YOU, DESPITE MY ATTORNEY'S ADVICE TO GO AHEAD AND DO SO. I STAND BY THAT PROMISE...I HATE LAWYERS...I HATE LAWSUITS...I WILL NOT SUE YOU. I do wish to point out some mis-information you have posted, I ask you correct it, you are free to use this e-mail and post as you wish...BUT ONLY in its entire content, NOT pieces. 1) The car was advertised on E-BAY by Lamborghini Dallas. Per YOUR request I acted as your broker with them. I found out all the info that was provided to me by LOD and passed it on to you. It is a FACT that the car was owned by one of their techs. It is a fact on the 39K miles...AS a matter of fact I find it strange that you NOW say it had almost 9K miles more, YOU never contacted me about that....don't you think anyone in their right mind would have upon this GREAT a mile discrepancy?? NEVER SAID THOSE PARTS ARE LIES. JUST STATED WHAT YOU TOLD ME. Fact I never saw the car. YOU SUGGESTED THAT YOU DID, BUT LETS LET THIS ONE GO BECAUSE ITS NOT A BIG DEAL IN THE BIG SCHEME. Fact PPI was performed by LOD. SHOW ME, AND I WILL ISSUE AN APOLOGY ON LAMBOPOWER ASAP...LOOK AT HOW MANY REQUESTS WERE MADE FOR IT...YOU IGNORED EVERY ONE Fact your insurance company contacted us, was provided ALL paperwork we had. GREAT Fact your insurance company released us from any wrong doing and paid your claim, ( I have that in writing). DOESNT MATTER TO ME. LAST TIME THEY CONTACTED ME, THEY WERE ASKING ME FOR YOUR PERSONAL CELL NUMBER AND EMAIL, BECAUSE YOU WOULD NOT TALK TO THEM. I DID NOT GIVE THEM THAT INFORMATION OUT OF RESPECT. Fact the PPI was NEVER produced to us from LOD and was as far as I know never produced to anyone. Fact books and records were sent to you, I have the DHL sign off from you. ROY, I RECEIVED NO BOOKS, NOTHING. I GOT A MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE. CHECK YOUR EMAILS. Fact engineer said it had nothing to do with OIL leak, was a Fuel leak fire (have that in writting) so why is it our fault? THATS WHAT I SAID ON MY POST TOO. Fact you NEVER until NOW asked for any lost money, had you back then I am sure insurance would have covered it AND you can still file a claim. Fact you e-mailed me, (I have copy) Roy not mad at you, know its not your fault, ca you help me find a Murice now? YES, I WAS NOT MAD, AND I DID NOT SAY ANYTHING FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR. I EMAILED YOU FIVE OR SIX TIMES ABOUT A NEW MURCI AND NO ONE GOT BACK TO ME. I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT ONE FROM YOU (WITH A ppi OF COURSE) FOR THE RIGHT PRICE. YOU'RE JUST A GODAMMED BROKER AND SOMETIMES YOU PROBABLY SELL A GOOD CAR Fact you dated the Fire Capt's daughter and stated (in e-mail) all would be OK cause you knew him. NOPE. DIDNT SAY THAT AT ALL. READ YOUR EMAIL AGAIN. ITS IRRELEVANT ANYWAYS, BECAUSE HIS ROLE IS TO DETERMINE WHETHER I STARTED THE FIRE MYSELF. HE PLAYS NO OTHER ROLE THAN THAT. Fact we are not now or have been involved in ANY law suit from your insurance company over this, LOD may, but we are not. NOT MY PROBLEMS. LAST THING THEY WOULD TELL ME IS THAT THEY WERE SUING YOU. The point is I do not see how TRASHING me has anything to do with what happened. I never knowingly sold you a defective car AND I think you are well aware of that?? ROY, I THINK I HAVE BEEN MORE THAN FAIR. 1. I promised you I would not sue you. 2. My posts were fair, and truthful. Read every one of them. There were NO LIES 3. I never made any requests for compensation. The amount I lost was signicant (transport, two months lease plus two months penalty, financing fees, insurance deductible) and was probably closer to 20K. I make a comfortable living. I am not as rich as you, so to lose that chunk of money was actually hardship to me. what was the reason for this hateful half truth posting? You are telling people half truths yourself. I accepted the financial hit. I promised not to sue you. I kept out of it. Then you tell people that I did something to the car to make it burn? WTF I am sorry I could not have made you happy... Best of luck in your life. Say Hi to Allan for me. Dude, I have never met Allan...don't even know what he looks like....never received a PM or email from him EVER. I know two of the moderators and lots of fellow lambo owners. That's the truth. Roy Cats
  6. I really enjoyed my NSX, but I had the 3.2 engine. Great car overall. The Good Feels great to drive. You feel connected to the car and you feel like you are driving really fast (until the C6 POS passes you without even trying). Never broke down. Best clutch I have ever used. Oil changes at Acura for 35 bucks. Amazing visibility. Build Quality excellent. Great handling tending towards understeer. The not so good. The engine sounds like a sewing machine. Every so often you get a moron who say, "nice ve++e". Clutch cost 4K to replace (if it has the dual mass flywheel, which cannot be resurfaced). Wasn't really as fast as it looked (yeah...I know there are documented 0-60 of 4.5, but it was probably closer to 5 or 5.3 seconds) So I would give you a vote for the NSX with the caveat that I have no idea what an older Viper feels like to drive. Have driven the 2nd generation and 3rd generation Vipers, though, and they are a lot of fun. Ergonomically retarded on the inside, but the torque is addictive. But...I would not buy an early model NSX because of the older engine. It would be fun to drive, of course, but the performance on road and on track would be pretty lame. Definitely don't get the automatic version of any year. It uses the 3.0 engine, even in later models, and although the handling is fine, the 0-60 is over six seconds (6.5 if I recall). Have you checked NSXprime.com to see if there are any private sale NSXs with the 3.2 engine? Regards, Rick
  7. I've been off the board for awhile as I have been traveling, and was overjoyed to see that the RoyCats love fest is finally over. I knew it would happen eventually since I personally got screwed in a transaction with Roy. For any newbies on the board, this was the Diablo that I purchased from Roy.... http://www.lambopower.com/forum/index.php?...mp;#entry202578 It was described as: PPI complete ("The PPI was performed by us and showed no issues, (actually by LOD)....."-- Roy Cats) mechanically sound owned by a lamborghini tech 39000 miles "I BACK the car 100%. The owner is actually a Mechanic at Lamborghini Dallas, I know him...HE has put way MORE money into this car then he ever should have..HE is NOT getting it back.......THE only issue was the stick shift knob was weathered, it is being replaced.....IF You have any issues with the car contact me right away, I will take care of it!!.....I know you will love it.......OH and yes clean car fax....." -- Roy Cats After I took delivery of the vehicle, I noticed that NONE of the promised MANUALS or SERVICE RECORDS or PPI were provided. A/C didnt work. ABS light wouldnt go off. Its got 44000 miles on the odometer, not 39000. I noticed a small "wet" spot of oil at the valve cover gasket. A very small amount of oil on the floor but could have been from my SUV or my lawn mower for that matter. No oil anywhere else anywhere else. Called Roy about it...he said the vehicle passed PPI so it shouldn't be a problem...as for the other stuff, he says he will "look into it" "all Diablos have some sort of oil leak, not a big issue" -- Roy Cats So, the car burns, I become the wreckedexotics.com mascot for a day, but I don't get injured or die. After the fire, the investigator and engineer determined it was a fuel fire...fuel line leaked in engine bay somehow. Fuel tank was empty, oil pan was 3/4 full. The PPI was never found. Last I heard, Roy Cats was refusing to speak to the insurance company, the engineer, or the investigator. All my insurance company would say to me was that it was in litigation and that they were suing Roy Cats... Now...I was going to just let things go, but then I see Roy shooting his mouth off about how everyone is a satisfied customer... "Can someone, bring me just one customer PLEASE!! come forward and tell where I did you wrong. JUST ONE PLEASE!!!!!! CALL ME OUT!! PLEASE that way we can put all these he said said, ALLAN heard, MIKE has three frined, I know a brother of a cousin in New York BS aside........JUST bring me one...!!! I have still yet to see one in three years...and to suggest that I have "DIRT" on every customer so they dont come forward...do you know how really STUPID that is!! COME on again IDIOTIC!!"---Roy Cats And on top of that, he is suggesting I modified the car to cause the fire: "As far as the fire car, it burned MORE than a MONTH and 2800 miles AFTER it was sold to him...it was a used car, it DID pass a great PPI...should it last FOREVER...? I have no idea what happened NOR what he did or did not do to the car in this time frame" -- Roy Cats The facts: car received April 16th 2006...burned April 25th, 2006. driven less than 100 miles. So Roy...you sold me an uninspected car that you falsely represented. I now know you bought the car on EBAY without having done any inspection or knowing anything about the car at all. Everything you said about the car was a lie. And now you go around suggesting I am a liar? You suck. BTW...send me a check for 12000 dollars, which covers my financial loss on this deal, and I might consider calling it even. PS- thanks to all the members who have been sending me the behind the scenes info on Roy. PS - admin/Mods, I tried replying to Roys post but the thread is locked. Let me know if you want me to move this somewhere else.
  8. Four pieces luggage set from Lamborghini. Factory option for the Gallardo. Two pieces fit in the front trunk, two pieces behind the seats. The only reason I am selling is that I have TWO sets. I bought the second set thinking I could use it for the Murcielago, but then I reailzed the Murcielago only has a trunk, but no storage behind the seats for the other two pieces. I want to sell the Gallardo luggage so I can get something for the Murcielago. I paid $3560 from Lamborghini Atlanta (MSRP is $4733) Any takers at $3000 shipped? Its really nice luggage! Rick PM me for pix!
  9. I have been having trouble getting the background color and fonts to change to subsilver. In my preferences/profile, its set but the screen does not change. Any way to fix this? It used to work before. Thanks!
  10. Yah...like i said on my other post...the alligator seats in my Diablo are like Zits on Jessica Alba.
  11. I have heard that from at least a dozen of my friends and neighbors now... Girls...the hot ones especially...seem to be totally enamoured with the Diablo. The Gallardo gets an insane amount of attention; The Diablo gets even more than that! Its absolutely nuts! But I love both cars...like two girlfriends, right? Oh yeah...I still my NSX. Three of them. Kind of a pointless post...but just wanted to let you know what I am hearing from people who see both cars in person! Rick ...dammit got a sunburn today in the roadster...
  12. Thanks for the info! Its really helpful. Glove compartments...Excellent! Too bad the extra buttons are superfluous. Kind of clutters up the center console...but hey...the Diablo still rules! Double thanks!
  13. just got my Diablo Roadster from Roy Cats. cant show you pix until I get rid of the alligator seats...kind of embarassing...like acne on an otherwise pretty girl... will promise to send pix once the benzoyl peroxide kicks in... thanks! Rick
  14. appreciate it much. please check with our franchised lamborghini dealer sponsors.com had a bunch of manuals will probably try to pick some up. before I get one, can anyone decode the hieroglyphics for me below the stereo? thanks!
  15. Hi everyone! just took delivery of a diablo roadster from Roy Cats and need to find a manual. anyone willing to sell me one? or how about this deal...i will pay you to photocopy it for me? before I get a hold of a manual... this if vexing me...what the heck are the buttons on the bottom left of the middle console...it says 1-2-3-4 and auto-error. thanks everyone! Rick
  16. Dont get me wrong, there is a nice car underneath all that crap, I don't hate any lambo! I might have a rear bumper for you though... abolfaz...i am on the same wavelength as you totally! I want to bring this car closer to the way its supposed to look. I totally appreciate your advice and help so far. If you could, PM me about the rear bumper...the only issue is the exhaust is dual-center out... rick
  17. thanks for the heads up... will give him a buzz. as you know...the roadster i just bought has the "updated" wheels (6.0 wheels) and I am thinking of going to the 1999 Diablo roadster wheels...on the other hand the 6.0 wheels are pretty nice... you wouldnt happen to know which are lighter would you?
  18. found some 18" diablo roadster wheels on ebay. 18inchwheels wondering if they would fit a 1998 roadster. thanks in advance
  19. tried to get a hold of these guys, but no luck so far...will try again. I think they might need to get their hands on the vehicle to do the restoration so it might be problematic to get the car up to New York thanks for the info though! Rick
  20. Ted and Abolfaz, Is it these guys? Cloverleaf Auto Upholstery & Glass 3625 South State Road 7, Hollywood, FL 33023 (954) 983-4897 They said that they do a lot of work on Lambos and that they could even take the seats out, put some temporary seats in, and let me drive the car away until the restored seats are ready... Abolfaz, the car that Roy set me up with is that one the 98 Roadster that you hate so much...I am going to try to kick-it-down-a-notch and get it closer in looks to the factory specs...the seats are the first thing to go...then the front air splitter...the the side skirts maybe...might be stuck with the rear diffuser due to the custom exhaust...(apparently its all real carbon fiber) Thanks for your help!
  21. Thanks for the head up guys! I will check these places out. Rick
  22. does anyone know a place that can do custom seat inserts for a diablo? thinking of alcantara or leather and want to match the stock look as much as possible...except might put a small bull logo on headrest getting close to a diablo (Thanks Roy!) but need to see about seat inserts...or maybe I should just get Wet Okoles...(kidding) thanks guys.
  23. mmmmmmm.......bonus elf........ waddya say Roy? kev99sv...thanks for the info! wanted to hear from someone who actually has owned both!
  24. hey everyone. Love my NSX, but time for a change. thinking of a diablo, and talked to Roy so he is on the lookout for me (thanks Roy!)... diablo sitting next to the gallardo would be awesome! plus i want scissor doors. want to keep within a 150K budget, so it limits me to early MY diablos... anyone want to help me by either talking me into it or out of it? if you talk me out of it, I will have to think if a 360 Modena... thanks guys
  25. Sounds like the NSX needs a blower. havent ruled that out either. was waiting for the Dali setup. Basch didnt seem to have the bugs worked out of it either. The applications for the 3.2 seem limited. Now my warranty is up, the s/c is sounding tempting. Couple things: 1) Dali will never come out with a setup. 2) SOS is putting out a system very similar to the Dali setup. Should bump HP by 90-100 at the wheels. 3) Comptech has a new blower that is really nice. What year is your NSX? 2001 NSX-T Spa Yellow; only mods are Taitec Parallel GT Exhaust and Zanardi Shift Knob and boot. Tried to keep it stock, but s/c keeps tempting me.
