  1. The problem is that the Lambo part is a $ 1.25 item but Lambo used to sell the set (1 rod) for something like $ 30. so X 12 = $ 360 for a V12...and people did not want to spend that. Using old hardware on a motor turning a max of 5000 RPM might be OK...but I would do whatever I could to get new bolts/nuts. Now you could remachine the rod to take a "modern bolt" but that may cost more that its worth v.s. getting a new Carillo or other non-OEM rod. Paul
  2. This is a 1920's design...a shouldered threaded rod with a nut. Later in around 1986 the Jalpa went to a more modern rod bolt which threads into the top (beam portion) of the rod. The QV Countach motor received the same updated design. ARP can provide this type of hardware, but it is a custom order. The rods and all associated hardware need to be NDT'd Re-using old nuts and threaded rod is a no-no...a broken rod can easily result! Paul

  4. That is not a P-111, which superficially looked like a P-300 but had an emission motor with single coil distributor, and recessed side marker lights and a different rear bumper. This is a Bob Grossman special, which were both P-111 and P-300 cars which were supposed to be fitted with the 3 liter motor courtesy of Lenny’s in Toronto…the EPA caught wind of this and Bob paid a big fine and the cars remained as is. The only one which made it through to the US [long before the grey market] was a gold car in Michigan # 20152. Paul
  5. Actually its a P-111. This car was in Pittsburgh for many years and it has a a smogged 2.5 liter engine. Several P-111's had the pP300 type serial # this is one of them. There is a long story involved as to why. Bob Grossman tried to bring in 4-5 cars and change the motor to the 3 liter model. He was "caught" paid a fine and the cars kept the smaller motor. Paul
