  1. If anybody knows this car any insight is appreciated. Thank you for your help. Gallardo Nera for sale
  2. Yikes indeed. I haven't been on here in a long time. I was just curiously poking around and found this thread. Wish I could say something to make you feel better. I paid about 30k in repairs myself with the clutch, transmission and various engine issues. Check engine light mysteriously went on and off on me as well. Previous owner put a ton of money into the car as well. I have no idea what happened to the car after I sold it to Premier Sports Cars but it was running well when I got rid of it. One of the most beautiful Diablo's I have ever seen and is quickly becoming the most expensive! When your issues do get resolved I hope you enjoy the car trouble free for a very long time. It certainly is a beautiful example.
  3. I just got this offer from Wil De Groot: "The AC upgrade involves several components: - replace/upgrade condensor - add auxillary evaporator with auxiallary modern hi-performance fan - install special ducting to improve air distribution The result is an interior that can be made so cold 'you could make ice cream in there' (customer quotation). Cost $10K. "
  4. Yes, time to move on to something else. I've received lots of lowball offers but this is not a desperation sale. If it doesn't sell I'm perfectly content with keeping it. I was just about to buy a Gallardo but I think I might wait for an LP560. In the short term I may pick up an Ariel Atom or a Noble for kicks.
  5. Make sure you get one of the newer models with the sapphire crystal. They switched over the past year. The previous version was mineral. Sapphire is much, much better.
  6. If more than 10 seconds a day, yes. Should just need an adjustment. Don't get down on Breitlings though. I wear one everyday and beat the hell out of mine. I haven't been able to kill one yet.
  7. 2 months in, it should be within 10 seconds a day. Have them send it in for an adjustment if that is not so.
  8. Well within specs, don't send it in. The watch should be within 10 seconds a day, figure roughly one minute per week = 4 minutes per month. They will be set to run fast from the factory. As the watch settles down and the oils settle in it will gradually slow down. Then over a longer period of time the oils will start to coagulate a bit. The oils become stickier therefore slowing the watch down. If they set the watch to be right on (0 secs a day) you would be looking for an overhaul sooner. They set them fast to lenghten the interval between servicings. Let a new watch settle down for a couple of weeks. If it is still more than 10 seconds off per day send it in for an adjustment. If the accuracy issue still bothers you that much, Breitling also makes battery operated models. Their quartz (battery) movements are called Superquartz which have temperature compensation. They are 10x more accurate than a regular quartz watch. They are also the only company that chronometer certifies all of their watches including the quartz models. Out of respect for our sponsors I will not say in what capacity but I am in the watch business and have been collecting, selling for 20 years. In other words, trust me on this one!

  10. Glad to hear you are doing well. Continued success and get well soon!
  11. Any word on how he is doing? I believe he was supposed to have had the surgery by now. Hoping for the best!
  12. It was Wil at Exoticars in NJ so I trust him. This clutch just feels VERY different to me.
  13. Thanks. I actually just got rid of the Diablo. After speaking to some people today this seems to be a usual property of this type of clutch. I guess I just have to get used to it. I only drove it about 2 miles yesterday.
  14. I just got my Countach back from having a kevlar clutch put in along with some other work. Just took the car out for a quick spin and the clutch doesn't engage until the pedal is almost fully released. (all the way at the top of the travel) I just had a clutch done in my Diablo and it grabs almost right off the floor and this feels exactly the opposite. The Countach was done by a well known reputable shop so I trust them but this just feels really strange to me. I never driven a car where the clutch engages so high up before. I e-mailed the shop and this is the response I got. "A clutch that grabs with the pedal right off the floor is usually a worn clutch. The clutch should grab high and due to the nature of the "double friction" clutch disk, which has a sintered ceramic coating on one side for instant and powerful grab and Kevlar on the other side to take the slipping heat, the clutch is engaged very quickly. Also the annular hydraulic clutch release bearing assembly, which we installed, eliminates the normal slop caused by a clutch slave cylinder linkage since that linkage has been eliminated. " I am a novice at the mechanical aspect of these things. Does this make sense to anyone here?
