  1. nsxer, tell us more about your other cars. Are they all gems? I assume they are. What years are the 308 and the 930 - more photos would be fine with me and hell no brutha, I sure don't 'mind' if you bombard this thread with photos of your CT! I am guessing your 308 to be an 85 quattrovalve (basing it on bigger wheel size) than a late 70's model? The turbo is just hard to tell, but post 79? based on table top whale tail (love playing guess that car!) Actually narrowed the 930 to an 86 or 87 based on rear brake light?? How'd I do? I don't know squat about nsx's or that 'other' blue car whatever it is, lol! I also think you should change your name to 'cter'
  2. nsxer - beautiful car! There are a lot of red cars , yours is rare and a very sweet looking combination color wise, you should be stoked
  3. Lambolarry, was the car with that bumper a white/red car? I described it on the 'front wing' thread. It was a CT I once owned and had that exact rear bumper and a front wing. Just curious as I am wondering about where that car is nowadays.
  4. Mick you are right. I formerly owned a white/red late 81 5000s that had a nicely fabricated mini replica of the rear wing bolted right there into the front lid. It had a little block spacer and then the wing. I was told exactly that - it was 'the front bumper'. That car was originally brought into the country by the Dollar Rent a Car top dog and was titled in the company name. Worked out nice for me since I lived in Nevada and the original titile - Dollar Rent was based in Las Vegas- easy title and no smog where I live. They 'federalized' it, that is where this particular front wing was borne. They also fabricated a very nice rear bumper that ran zig and zag along the lines of the rear lights and straight in the middle, painted white and a clean tight fit. Yet to see one nicer. Anyone know the car I am describing? I owned it for about 5 years from 1990ish to 1995ish. I brokered it to Mo Moscovitz from Walnut Creek Ferrari and then I am pretty sure it ran in some Symbolic Motors dupont registry ads for awhile. I am guessing Japan?? I don't know the serial number and don't have access for awhile to my own records where I might find the serial #. Also had factory white painted wheels.
  5. some thoughts and opinions.....as an owner of a very rare and exceptionally nice CT, I for one am enjoying the FACT that CT's valuations are on the rise - duh! One thing I find intriguing is the reaction this car (more than any other 'collectable' car I know of) garners with regards to said valuations. I've watched hemi cuda ragtops rise from 10's of thousands of dollars to multiple millions of dollars in fast order and I wonder what the owners of those cars read as far as opinions along the rapid ride up. It had to blow through 300k...900K....1.5million...etc. etc. Already bid up over 119k, the car on ebay has made those that predicted 115K as tops WRONG. more opinions....I think eBay is an exceptionally inexpensive way to expose any car to the entire world for about a hundred bucks. Finding a direct buyer/bidder may not always occur, but as far as exposure and networking to the world it is an amazing opportunity. I almost parted with my car back in Decembr due to life changing events. I have a fair amount of my net worth in that car (not a rich dude, like many here are, but still in the 'club'!), but since I have insurance for these life changing events I am able to hold on to my gem. Now why does one man's opinion on the value of a Countach PISS off so many? Strange phenomenon indeed.... I think my CT story/history may be interesting to some here, so I'll share, if you don't like it, scroll down!! When I was 29 I bought my first CT (damn, I was proud!). It was a beautiful white/red, front wing, fabricated rear bumper, bought it from the "TOY STORE", a small out of the way mainly muscle car dealer in Phoenix, AZ. I had contacted Jim Heady out of the blue and he refererred me to a broker who had just made contact with him about that car. A day later I paid under 100K for it (this is 1990). I showed it at an early Concorso Italiano and it took 3rd place, after I drove it there from Walnut Creek, CA. Got photos of Al Burtoni and Jay Leno (in blue overalls) looking it over and judging it. Realize at one point I had an interested buyer in the car at 285K (no joke!! - those were the whacky Italian car days). A few years later, I caught my frisky young wife misbehaving and needed to part with a valuable asset to rid the wench from my life (divorce), I had a home, business, etc. to protect, so off went the Countach - very sad day and no, by that time it was not worth even 100K anymore, even more sad....ouch! For years I watched from afar, but noticed the market on these cars just stayed down. A few years ago I enjoyed the sale of an overpriced home and took the proceeds and searched not only for another CT, but for the finest example of my favorite of all - the dd. I found a REAL GEM and bought it from a very nice and very professional broker by the name of Mike Haber in Bensalem, PA. Considering the unbelievably amazing condition and quality restoration (Thank you Mike at Evans), I have simply preserved it, no racing around rashing the paint, etc. The point of my story (I love talking Countach, so hopefully someone will enjoy this story), is that I have an INVESTMENT grade CT, and I am not ashamed to admit I don't thrash around at high speeds and can't talk to you too much about it's performance, etc. etc., so valuations are of great interest to me for sure. I did enjoy driving my former Countach and know they are amazing cars to drive, but this one is museum quality and will have to stay that way. As far as it's value - I hope I never have to sell it even when it tops a million bucks, lol!! For those who are selling, get all the money you can, we are talking about THE exotic car icon of the history of the automobile - hands down! To me CT's are WAY undervalued even at today's rising prices when you compare them to ANY OTHER CAR!! Got bored watching the stock market today, so just typed away.....hope my story didn't piss anyone off - like I said earlier it is interesting how just talking about a CT's value just pisses some off? Strange indeed....
  6. having a hard time 'uploading' newer photos, so here are some oldies... p.s. Mike at Evans is setting me up with the front bumper grille's getting things as they should be...thanks Mike!
  7. I like the 'baby blanket' car cover!!
  8. come on folks, more photos of CT's, some before and afters, restorations, stories, something!!!!! I am addicted to Lambo's and this sight and I need a fix!!
  9. I was referring to the recent ones, too bad!
  10. is anyone working on resurrecting the old CT threads? Sure would be nice to see them back!
  11. Anyone got any photos of their CT with a hot chick, keep in mind the competition is tough with Gallardo and FINE ASS model on the 'general' thread. Sex and money sell and get the emotions going, so photos or talk of $$ CT values please!!
  12. Thanks for the suggestions, Griot's garage products are excellent, a little over priced, but certainly great stuff. I will check thier offerings..drove my car today - Tahoe has been like summer, but finally got some precip today, exercised the car and put it away before the rain and snow came -
  13. I plan to store my Countach indoors - duh, and I am looking for options, anyone done the ultimate search and found the ultimate car cover? Perhaps super soft, with logo, cool color, etc. etc. Thanks in advance. P.S. I am not opposed to buying a 'used' one from a member here who has an extra or a ' special' one they might part with, just let me know, thanks!
  14. good on ya Alex! There is no car on the planet that looks as good (or goes as good) as a Countach. Murci's are cool, Gallardo's are sexy, but Countach's - OVER THE TOP!! More photos, more story, more more more!!!
  15. since the meltdown, the Countach thread is lacking in excitment. The photos of the blue car (absolutely stunning car - yes, I am jealous of the color) definitely helped, but.... Let's talk about Countach values or something, that usually gets the juices flowing and the keyboards clicking? Serioulsy, I have needs folks, the need to read about the most awesome car in history!!! somebody say something - aaaaaarrrrggghhhhhh!!!
