  1. It's here. Took delivery last Tuesday. I haven't had a chance to drive it much yet as I've been working and busy with family. From what little experience I have with one of these, it lives up to what I expected. The V12's seem like more of an event to drive. More raucous, not as civilized. I kind of like it. :icon_mrgreen: My favorite things about the car so far: the looks (obvious statement--I think the Aventador is one of the best looking cars ever produced), the shifts in Corsa, and the rumbling the exhaust makes when you let off of the gas (sounds so awesome--worth the price of admission). A few pictures from delivery day.

  2. AWWW HELL YEAH! It is easy spending other peoples money. :eusa_dance:

Seriously excited for you man! That car is stunning and you are going to love it. I still remember my first ride the night DoctaM3's Aventador came home. HOLY CRAP IS IT BRUTALLY FAST.

Enjoy in the best of health.

Thanks again Hannibal! I have a feeling this one may be around a while.

  3. BEAUTIFUL! We need more pics, ASAP! Congratulations! If I was to buy an Aventador, the first color I would go with is Orange. It's so fitting on this car. What official color name is yours? It looks outstanding!

Thanks! The color is called Ariancio Argos. It's an orange with some red hue in it. Like all of the Lamborghini metallic paints, it looks different depending on the light. It is stunning under direct light. They still had to install two carbon pieces just in back of the hood. You can see them missing in the pic. The car has the carbon fiber exterior and interior package. The engine bay is also covered in carbon fiber. It seems like a lot but it ties nicely together--at least to me.

  4. Well everyone, I finally took the plunge. After three V10s (which were all great cars), it was time to "grow up." The decision was not easy for so many reasons:

My last Gallardo was the LP560-2. The last of the gated shifter Lambos. I love what it stands for. Tough to let go.

Then there was the choice of what to get next. There are so many great cars available but I am a one exotic at a time owner. I seriously considered the Huracan and 650S. Both phenomenal cars and wicked fast--especially the 650S. But deep down, I've been wanting a V12 Lambo for some time now. There's just something about those doors.

Ok, so V12 it is. But which one? Initially, it was LP640. I really like these cars and they fit my budget. But then the Aventador came into my price range. It is my poster car. I've loved this car since they first pulled the cover off of it. After three months of searching, I found several cars that I liked. But one, in particular, I lost some sleep over. It had everything I wanted. Right color, right options and at the dealer I had bought two other Lambos from. My perfect Aventador. But it was over my budget. Damn!

So, I held off and looked for others. Nothing fit the bill. I decided to post on the Aventador sub-forum about my dilemma. I was encouraged by the responses I got and one from a certain member. Hannibal, thanks man! You were right. I went back and reached out to the guys at Lambo NB. On Monday, we struck a deal for the Aventador I wanted all along. It is my first V12 and I couldn't be happier. It is still surreal. A huge thanks to Nick and the crew at Lambo NB. They are a first class operation and made this a great experience.

Here are a couple of crappy cell phone pics of the car. More to come when it gets delivered next week.

  5. Back in November I was offered a brand new $455K '14 for $405K...and it's still there!

Yes I agree that the advertised/asking prices are going to have to fall while more used newer cars hit the market.

Seems that some cars have been advertised for close to a year!

That seems like a pretty good deal, especially for a new car. Can you share what color it was and what dealer it is at. Or PM me if that works for you. It does appear that a lot of cars have been on the market for a while. The two yellow '12s in Dallas and an orange one at a exotic dealer in FL come to mind. The one in FL is way overpriced even though it only has 950 miles on it. It sounds like it may be almost the same price to get into a new one, which would be awesome. Thanks for the heads up.

  6. Have you talked with the LNB guys to see if there is anything they can do to get you in to the car? With the roadsters, 50th Anniversary and now SV coupe (and eventually roadster) coming out the plain Jane coupe should be dropping in price even if it is a newer model year.

Yeah, I have been in contact with them. Nick said there should be some coming in on trade as the SV's begin arriving this fall. We talked a little about the Orange one but it didn't seem to fit my budget--for now. From what I'm reading here, it appears there is more negotiating room than I thought. So, I will be patient and see what happens.

  7. Hey everyone, I'm looking to get into an Aventador by fall. The original plan was to enter the V12 world in a LP640 but I have loved the Aventador since it first came out. It tugs at my heart strings. I know there are faster, better driving, and handling cars on the market but the Avy is where it's at for me.

Right now, my budget dictates a 12, maybe a 13. Orancio Argos is my first choice followed by Blu Nethuns, Verde Ithica, and Yellow. There are examples of most of these for sale now. My top pick is unfortunately a '14 model at LNB but it is not quite in the budget. It's a gorgeous car loaded with carbon fiber and I happen to like the guys at LNB a lot. I am telling you about this car because it seems Aventador prices are softening a bit (particularly the coupes) and they are not selling quickly. I get that they are an expensive machine but still surprised how long they are remaining in inventory. So, do I wait a bit and let the prices drop and get into the newer car? Also, if you guys/gals could provide your input to some questions/observations.

    1) I've heard different opinions on the '12s. Some say stay away, others say they're fine. I realize the suspension is firmer and there is no start/stop. I don't see a reason to stay away if the car checks out.

    2) If taken care of, are they fairly reliable? I understand they are more costly to maintain. I'm coming from a Lp560-2. Not one problem.

    3) Why do you think these things aren't moving from inventory? Introduction of the Huracan maybe? There are some nice ones avaible.

    4) Any other buying advice or things to look for on these when looking at them?

Thanks for the help. Super stoked to get into my dream car.

  8. Great Post Hannibal. You put into words (very well) the way so many of us feel.

To all the servicemen and women, past and present, you have my deepest gratitude for your sacrifices. Thank You for the freedom you give us all! :turboalex:

  9. Nice pick ups and an awesome collection! I think the Zee06 is great performer for the $ and a very good looking machine. Was just at the factory and museum last week. Missed you by one day. My dad bought a velocity yellow Z and got to do the first start as it came off of the line last Wednesday. He didn't get museum delivery but it looked fairly well done. I'm thinking about picking one up myself in the future.

Love the STS as well. Pics look like it came from AZ. I'm familiar with the place those pics were taken. :icon_mrgreen:

    Congrats on both and enjoy!

  10. The dealer's name is "Driving Emotions" which says it all. They deal with emotional buyers. And emotional buyers always pay too much.

phx, I agree. Not going to overpay for a car on emotion. I was prepared to step up a bit on that car but not fall over for it. It's funny, as soon as I told them no regarding price on that car, he tried to deflect me into their '09 Rosso Vik car. Nice car but overpriced as well. No thanks!

  11. They will deal on the orange one. Have a ton of money into the green one, so that one would certainly not be the "good deal" choice. Ask for, Joe, directly. He is the owner - shoot straight with him and he may do the same.

Thanks for the info. The green one is what I'm interested in. Looks like it has sport seats and it is an '09. One thing I noticed all of their Murcies don't have are the carbon interior bits. Those could be added over time but should be reflected in the price. I'm certainly open to orange as well. I would think 230k would be a solid offer on the green one. Was hoping to get one in below 220 but it is a '09 with very low mileage. Thoughts? The orange one would definitely have to be priced more aggressively as there are several others out there for sale and they have two of them.

  12. Are you referring to Abbas or Perillo? The latter owns the place, the former runs it.

Guy said his name was Chris. Guessing he is the one who runs it. I have heard of Joe Perillo but don't know much about him or his dealerships. From what I see, they get mixed reviews on the net.

  13. I had this long post written on this thread, right when you first posted it, that was telling you not to bother calling as you would never be able to purchase the car. I decided not to get involved because, end of the day, I could have been wrong. If you knew the way that store was run, you would know that car will never be sold, unless they appreciate in value like an F-40 in the coming years. Good luck with your search, too bad that car couldn't be had, it really needs to be rescued from there.

From what I had researched and read here, I was pretty sure it wouldn't happen but thought 'what the hell'. I think short of them going out of business or someone who doesn't care what it costs, that car will never be sold. It's the poster child of their business. I would love to rescue it and was prepared to pony up some extra dough but not the ridiculous amount they think it's worth. Se la Vie.

On a separate note, I called on a couple of Murcies at Bentley Gold Coast. Not sure of other people's experiences there but I was unimpressed with the sales guy I spoke with. Arrogant would be putting it nicely. They do have a very nice VI car and a couple of orange ones. Time will tell.

Thanks for your input with regards to the Florida folks.

  14. Hannibal, thanks for help man! Not in a big hurry on my end but since you asked. :icon_mrgreen:

    CCB's definitely preferable.

    Q-Stitch would be a plus.

Navi - can live with or without.

Would prefer manual but those are unicorns these days. E-gear will probably end up being what I get.

I do have my eye on some other cars but will sell mine first unless I get a very good overall deal. I know dealers are in business to make $ but it has to work for both of us.

    Thanks again.

  15. That is a stunning Murci! I know this one is a bit older and doesn't have q-stitch but I love the color combo:

Thanks for the info. but not my thing. I think this one is/was in my backyard here in Phoenix. If so, it's rough! Saw it in person. I definitely want a LP640 in coupe form and am picky about color. MB was my first choice but I do like Verde Ithica, Rosso Vik, and Arianco Atlas. There are others I'm looking at but I think it's best to sell my car first then try to work a deal on a Murci. I honestly don't know how the place that is selling the MB Murcie stays in business. They are there to sell cars, no?

  16. Well, of course you guys were right! LOL. Whatever these people are smoking, I'd like some. I offered to trade my LP 560-2 and see what they came up with. They wanted my car plus 100K. Laughable. I was thinking more of a straight across trade or maybe a small amount of cash on my end. I'm certainly not going to give my car away as its one of the last manuals Lamborghini produced. Without the trade, they were still in the 250 range and started out at 269. I guess they'll have this car for a LONG time. BTW, for this price, the car is not up to date on its services, has no car cover, needs new tires, and has the typical scratches on the underside of the nose (no big deal). Oh well, gave it the college try. There are other Murcies out there and, of course, it's most always better to work a deal without a trade involved. I'm pretty sure I can sell my car for a lot more money than what they offered. Anyways, thanks everyone for your input.

  17. I have a surprise that will BLOW everyone away...

I just have to wait a few more days to post it up...just wait and see!

Don't tell us you now have two holy grails--manual SVs that is. I wouldn't doubt it. If so, huge congrats!

That's my guess, anyways. Perhaps the white one with the big wing that Lambo Houston had several months back.

Looking forward to see what's in store.
