ysrjunkie Report post Posted September 15, 2009 One of my favorites is Ruggles on the corner of Westeimer and Montrose. Great portions Italian grill setting. Nice atmosphere.

MikeJ Report post Posted September 15, 2009 It's true Houston does have spectacular restaurants! It all depends on what you consider "expensive" here's my top 3 in least expensive to more expensive (to me). The Taste Of Texas - Kicks steak house ass. Perry's Steakhouse - A tad bit more pricey but still great! Strip House Steak House - THIS place has lots of character not sure you would call it "fancy" but it is cool though...may be more pricey than Perry's don't remember but I do remember the steaks freakin' melting in the mouth. I think that Taste Of Texas is the best all around with great steaks and beer atmosphere...."Meat & Beer" atmosphere! LoL Hope this helps. evsm Report post Posted September 16, 2009 If you don't mind spending some money go to Vic & Anthony's for some good steak, or even try Pappas Steak House on westhiemer.
thecyrax Report post Posted September 16, 2009 For steak? I'll vote The Palm or Capital Grille IMO Taste of Texas is nowhere near as good as it once was.

MikeJ Report post Posted September 16, 2009 IMO Taste of Texas is nowhere near as good as it once was. Damn, Taste of Texas fell off? I haven't been there in a few years...that used to be my joint! I didn't even know that the Palm served good food...I pass by it every day, never knew anybody that ate there. Forgot about Capital Grille, I had a gathering there but never had the steak. I used to go to Taste of Tx at least once a month, now I go considerably less. The Palm isn't my favorite restaurant, but their steak is still excellent. Capital has my fav Steak in Houston. I'll have to check out Del Friscos..... never heard of it.

MikeJ Report post Posted September 17, 2009 I believe I saw Del Frisco's on Westheimer somewhere...I do know it's by the Galleria somewhere though. Mr s420merc is gonna have a hard time deciding. Finding great steak places in Houston is like finding great pizza in NYC, or cheesesteaks in Philly.....or....a hot chick in Miami....yeah. Pick one you damn near can't lose.
