Craig Report post Posted March 6, 2011 Hi I currently have my QV in a workshop having a major overhaul and one thing I want to get done is to clean the area in front of the sidelight - this is the silver area just in front of the headlights. Does anyone know how to access this area as the garage were not able to? thanks Craig
ken qv Report post Posted March 6, 2011 I believe the only way is to remove the metal frame around the edge of the lens. There was a post and it showed it just prying off and then the lens lifts out. DON'T do this based on my response until we hear from someone that knows.

If you look at the following link it will illustrate what needs to be done if someone has not buggered it up. http://www.cannonballcountach.com/Restoration.php Below are a few photos showing the area you mention. wbnemo1 Report post Posted March 8, 2011 Since I got to do this for my friends Countach, I'll tell you they were glued with some sort of industrial silicone adhesive, perhaps windscreen adhesive, to the lens which was in turn glued to the frame. We had to carefully pry off the frame from the lens, and since the lens was cracked, we went in from the edge to keep from destroying the brass frame itself. crazy stuff but I needed to restore the pitted metal of the buckets so no really had no choice. Once done I replaced the cracked lens Will
