To Roadster owners; Questions on placement of emblems

After looking at a number of pictures of Diablo Roadsters, it would appear to me that the emblems on the rear grille are different on 1999 Roadsters versus older cars.

Specifically, on 1999 Roadsters the rear grille would seem to have the following emblems (from left to right):

Picture of bull & “Lamborghini” text on the left side – nothing in the middle – “VT” text on the right side

Whereas older Diablo Roadsters appear to always have the following:

Nothing on the left side – Picture of bull in the middle – “VT” text on the right side

Furthermore, only the pre-1999 cars would seem to have the “Diablo Roadster” badge on the rear deck (approximately under the rear wing).

Is my above understanding correct? Are there any differences between the placement of emblems and badges between European and US Diablo Roadsters?

The reason for my question is that I am considering buying a 1999 Diablo Roadster (pics here: http://www.lambopower.com/forum/index.php?...mp;hl=roadster).

For some reason or another, the car in question has the following (unique?) combination of emblems on the real grille:

"Lamborghini" text on the left – Picture of bull in the middle – “VT” text on the right side

In addition, the car has the "Diablo Roadster" badge under the rear wing...

Thanks for the pics emilio & Night Life!

BTW: I have found what seems to be a 1999 Roadster (updated interior, new style headlights) with old style rear emblems: http://www.lambocars.com/hr/dia/diavtr9942.htm http://www.lambocars.com/hr/dia/diavtr9943.htm http://www.lambocars.com/hr/dia/diavtr9941.htm

Perhaps some very early 1999 models still had the old style rear emblems? However, the above car does not appear to have the "Diablo Roadster" badge at all. Can anyone confirm whether any 1999 Roadsters had the "Diablo Roadster" badge?

Just for the record:

I have found that there are two different kinds of bull emblems. The pre-99 (and apparently a few early MY99) cars have a 3 inch bull in the middle, whereas later MY99 cars have smaller 2 inch bull emblem on the left, before the "Lamborghini" text. Both emblems can be found here: http://www.please check with our franchised lamborghini dealer sponsors.com/xq/asp/qx/Category-Emblems.htm

  • 2 weeks later...

Just for the record again (and in the hope that it is useful for other prospective Diablo buyers):

I have found this video which claims to be of a "Lamborghini Diablo roadster at factory in 1999 fresh off assembly line":

In the video, it is very clear that this particular 1999 roadster not only has the old style badges on the rear grill as well as a "Diablo Roadster" badge under the rear wing. If the video is genuine (I cannot understand the Italian spoken...), the conclusion must be that 99 roadsters may have a surprising amount of variation in the OEM badging.

He is sayin " Black, I would prefer black, this car is like a woman, some you like with long legs others with bowed legs (I swear to God thats what he said)

He the asks if the roof panel can be removed by one person or does it require two. Salesman answers "logically it takes two to prevent scratching the paint when placing the roof on engine lid".

Thats it nothing more :), I have watched this video many times for the obvious reasons looks like my car.
