azlambo Report post Posted October 23, 2012 I have a small leak coming from one side of my oil pan gasket. I'm going to Replace it. Does it go on "dry" or with some type of sealant? If sealant, What type, how much, apply to one or both surfaces (engine and/or pan)?
turbo-max Report post Posted October 26, 2012 i normally put them on dry, but if you DO use any sealant, be sure to use a very very small amount.
IlToro Report post Posted May 20, 2014 How did this job go, where did you get the gasket? My oil pan is wet. Don't think it's all coming from the pan, but looks like gasket is fairly easy to replace?
Chipster Report post Posted May 20, 2014 Easy to replace and gasket is pretty cheap. Might as well check out the filter inside when you have the pan out and make sure nothing bad is in there.

azlambo Report post Posted May 26, 2014 Got the gasket from Lamb.....ff. Haven't done the job yet. Leak isn't that bad. Still haven't got the difinitive answer on whether to use sealant or not. Job looks fairly easy. Might do it when doing my next oil change.
