  1. I'm heading to ATL in December - I need to hear this thing in person, so that I can pull the trigger myself.
  2. The P104 is almost exactly the same as the stock wheel...
  3. Hmm, that definitely does not sound how I had hoped it would. Leaning towards Capristo again...
  4. I have not been able to find the exhaust that Lamby123 mentioned, part number 400253368. However, Lamborghini Carolinas found me this one, part number 0R14400644 (flyer attached). Does anyone have this exhaust or know anything about it?
  5. You can use industrial-strength 3M or the included screws - I opted for the screws to make sure they stay on tight. The downside is drilling into the bumper, but the protection is worth it IMO.
  6. My bad guys, I completely forgot to post pics! These pictures aren't the best (I just ran out to the garage with my iPhone), but the skid plates are perfect. They provide solid protection but are basically invisible - I honestly forgot I had them on the car. It's a much more simple solution than having something custom done, and they won't make as bad of a grinding sound as the metal ones.
  7. Please share the part number!
  8. Wow, that's amazing - I need that on my STS!!!
  9. It's an awesome unit! I just need someone to help test it... The cost of shipping my car to them outweighs the benefit of the module, hence the desire for someone closer to them.
  10. Good afternoon, everyone! The thread title seems absurdly specific, but it's for a reason! I need a Chicago-area owner of an LP550/560/570 with an Escort 9500ci radar detector that's interested in helping Mid City Engineering / me develop an instrument cluster interface for the 9500ci that works with LP model Gallardos. I don't know how any of your PASSPORT displays are mounted, but it can't be as slick as this! I've been in contact with them since April, and they make an absolutely insane interface for the R8: http://www.midcityengineering.com/radar-in...erfaces/9500cr8. You need to watch the video to get a real idea: . As y'all probably know, the R8 and Gallardo share an instrument cluster interface, so there is a chance that the R8 interface will be plug-n-play for the Gallardo (no wire splicing or cutting). Installation requires removing the radio. If the interface is plug-n-play, installation would be quick and easy (all done in 1 day). If not, they would need the car for 2-3 days for development - the tester would of course get the module and installation for free. I spoke recently with TJ Stailey, operations manager at Mid City, about functionality, based on how the R8 interface works. The interface only briefly interrupts whatever is displayed (e.g. iPod track or satellite radio station) for alerts or for setting changes using the standard Escort control module, e.g. changing the volume then goes back. That means the iPod track or SiriusXM data would still be displayed. If anyone is interested, please respond here or PM me, then give TJ Stailey a call at (312) 421-1114 or email at [email protected]. They said they would need a day or so notice to make sure they were ready to tackle it when your schedule would permit. If anyone is close to Chicago and willing to ship their car, that would also be an option!
  11. Come on guys, sweaty palms wearing down the suede steering wheel and heavy breathing fogging up the windshield?! In all seriousness, I had this happen the other day - not being entirely familiar with the A/C controls yet, I randomly pushed a few buttons, moved the vents, and it went away for the most part. That's clearly not a solution, but the problem is obviously related to the design of the system.
  12. IMO you should go for a used LP570 - it's much more fun and raw to drive than the LP560. If the LP570 is too much, I would either wait for the G replacement or get an LP550-2 with a 6-speed. The McLaren is cool if you have a stable of exotics or really love interesting doors. The fit and finish wasn't on par with the price for me, and it lacks the soul of the Italians.
  13. The 458 is technically superior to the LP560, but the 458 is fairly close to the LP570 performance-wise. It's really a matter of personal preference though. The LP570 better suits my driving preferences - I prefer the more raw feel to the technical wizardry of the 458. For what it's worth, a friend of mine has traditionally owned Ferraris but cancelled his 458 build right before putting down a deposit to get an LP570 as a holdover before the Gallardo replacement or an Aventador roadster...
