  1. Thanks, guys. We are having a great time and are all very excited to participate in these events. We have a great team and will undoubtedly taste a lot of success over the upcoming events. We are still filling out the racing schedule for the rest of the yearand yes, we will be in Georgia. Ideally we will be adding another car or so to the roster as well.
  2. Firstly, congratulations to the UR guys. You had a great showing this weekend. Scondly, Im sorry to see Eddie's crash. I really hope he's ok and hope (know) that we will see him back at it very soon. Our day obviously wasn't what we wanted it to be but we all had a great time and can't wait to get out to the next event. We had to spend the first few passes making license runs before we were allowed to run the car all out. Once this was done, we discovered that we had a boost leak that we would not be able to repair during this one day event. We managed to run 214.9 the way it was, which isn't exactly hateful but again, not what we know we can do. Most importantly, everyone came home safely and enjoyed themselves thoroughly. See you guys next time!
  3. A few weeks ago we delivered this gorgeous matte gray 2013 Final Edition LP560 to it's owner. The combination of the matte gray wrap and the finish of the turbo system made me want to do something a little different with the photos. So while we were at the studio the photographer mentioned that he had a woman that would be happy to come over and do some shots with the car. Well, I thnk we'll all be glad that he suggested it. Thanks to the owner, Seth, for sending us his beloved LP to install the system on. We all enjoyed seeing it come together. Let us know which one is your favorite.
  4. As we were heading out for back to back weekends of racing in our TT STS we knew that keeping the car maintainedand operating safely would be highly important. As we left Texas from the Texas Invitational, headed to California for the Shift Sector half mile event I wanted to make a few changes to the car and give it a good look over to ensure a successful weekend of racing. Not having time to leave Texas, head to Florida then back to California in time I called my good friend Alex at SP. Alex was good enough to invite me to use a bay in their shop to take care of anything that we needed to do in order to prepare for the weekend. In my opinion this type of attitude and comradery represents what the sport of racing is all about. We went on to win both days of racing and took home the top honors all the way around. Thanks again, Alex. As always it was a great pleasure to be in the company of you and your team.
  5. I would say that since this thread has been started, the Braille product line has improved quite a bit. They were great to begin with but are even better now. I would have no reservations about installing one of their lightweight batteries in any car that I wanted to save some weight on. They are leaps and bounds better than any other lightweight batteries that I have seen.
  6. I'm going to have to hurry up and cancel that bulk order of roof scoops. LOL.
  7. I was just looking through the log and the MoTec GPS shows a 60 to 130 of 3.415 seconds. The car shifted into second right at 60 mph then to third and fourth. Not really ideal prodecure for obtaining a great 60 to 130 time but still pretty quick.
  8. I really don't like to speculate but yes, I do feel that a high 7 is a possibility for this car. We have plenty more boost to go, weather was less than ideal for making power and we have a number of other refinements that we will be dialing in. I feel that by the time it would reach the 7's it would be trapping mid 180's. Please understand that I am not claiming this to be a 7 second car, just stating that it is a reasonable goal to shoot for.
  9. None. To be perfectly honest I was pretty uncomfortable driving the car. Not my car. Didn't want to chance damaging it. We crept up on the boost and launch and it went as follows: 10.99 @152 9.87 @ 157 9.38@ 157 9.22 @ 158 9.20 @ 160 9.10 @ 161 8.72 @ 169 In that order. We were just supposed to shake the car down for the customer. He will be drag racing it quite a bit and we just wanted to make sure that it's track ready before he takes delivery. After the 8.72 I was content enough to head back to the shop.
  10. Yeah but it had NOS so it doesn't count plus there is no way that was a factory e gear set up shifting that fast.
  11. Absolutely. When you want to accelerate quickly, weight is your biggest enemy. It's easier to get a car rolling when it weighs less. It's a lot easier on drive line parts as well. Unfortunately, weight reduction generally costs you in the comfort department.
  12. I am sure that Peak's white Superleggera will be quite impressive. I hear that it was flying yesterday at the track but just couldn't get the 60 foot to go with it but with all of the information / misinformation going around, it's hard to know what to believe is real. I have no doubt that we will find out very soon and as always, I am willing to give credit where it's due.
  13. I agree that the MoTec system, when fully dialed in will help us show the true potential of this car. Unfortunately we only had a window of about 4.5 hours to be at the track this week. We are proceeding with this in a very methodical and incremental fashion. When you are working with this type of car and equipment I feel that it is very important to take the time to do things properly and not rush through it. The calibration process between knock control, traction control, launch control, boost control, engine mapping, etc. is very time consuming. Rest assured that you will see more from this car. I felt that our shakedown outing was worth mentioning. LOL. This car is still all wheel drive. My apologies for not having any in car video. I really didn't expect that the car would run in the 8's so easily. If I had know how day one was going to turn out, I would have had much more camera equipment.
  14. To reiterate, this is not a dog box. Also, as I stated earlier, the car was on Mickey Thompson radials, not M&H's. The car was indeed only at 24.5 psi. We got to the track at around noon and had to be out by 5:00. As I said, we have only just scratched the surface here. Once we spend a bit more time on the set up and add in the rest of the power, it's going to go a bit quicker.
  15. To answer a few of the questions, the car was on race gas at 24.5 psi of boost. As far as the transmission goes, you'll all have to forgive me and understand that I don't want to lay out a blueprint for what we have done. We recognized that the e gear cars were all pretty lackluster when it comes to drag strip use. The inability to adjust your launch to environmental conditions to achieve an optimal launch really put them at a disadvantage. With this in mind, we came up with a solution that is working quite well. The car still has the original transmission with upgraded internals. This is an e gear car that is shifted using the factory paddles. We have installed a clutch pedal which allows us to launch the car however we need to in order to suit track or road conditions.
  16. A few months ago we were approached by one of our customers, who happens to be an avid drag racer of exotic cars, and asked if we could build him a Gallardo that would be capable of running eight second quarter mile times. We formulated a plan and a short while later a gorgeous grigio telesto Superleggera showed up on our doorstep. This car received our full engine treatment with CP pistons, Carrillo billet steel connecting rods, fully ported and polished intake manifold and cylinder heads and upgraded valvetrain components. We are using MoTec electronics to manage every aspect of the engine. The turbo system makes use of a pair of custom ball bearing turbos that were built by the guys at TIAL products, a four inch downpipe, four inch air inlet plumbing, an incredibly labor intensive custom water to air intercooler and a pair of TIAL wastegates. When it came to the wheel and tire selection we contacted the guys at ADV.1 who made us an awesome set of 18 inch 5.2.1's which we finished in matte black and wrapped with four Mickey Thompson radial tires. The car was driven to and from the track. We made a total of eight passes on the car, each one quicker and faster than the last. By the end of the day we had recorded an 8.72 at 169.8 mph which is quicker than any previously posted time by anyone in the world for a Lamborghini Gallardo. I would like to thank the team here at Heffner Performance, TIAL Products, ADV.1, Sakata Motorsport Electronics and the crew at Bradenton Motorsports Park for helping make this possible. Most significantly, I want to thank our customer, Shawn (nutcase) for having us build him this incredible machine. After reviewing the data from yesterday, one thing that we are certain of is that there is a lot more left in this car. I'm pretty sure that I actually had my foot resting on the clutch pedal which caused it to slip a bit in fifth gear. We will be posting more details on this car soon and will keep you all up to date as the car progresses. Thanks and enjoy.
  17. Guys, I'd love it if we can not turn this into a mud slinging contest. We built an amazing car. Our customer will love it and we are quite proud of how it ran on it's first outing. As far as I know, from what I have seen, it's the first one in the 8's and the quickest in the world. If someone else has gone quicker and faster, congratulations to them. No matter what, we have still performed an amazing feat and this car is really something for the Heffner Performance team and the owner of the car to be proud of. I was just remarking to my customer how unreal it is that we drove a car to the track, ran it on radials, no burnout, made several passes, ran an 8.72 and drove the car home. What a car!!!!
  18. We didn't have a V Box in the car but I can get it from the MoTec GPS. I'll have a look tomorrow and let you know.
  19. That's exactly what I said when I let go of the clutch.
  20. I guess there is no way to keep the cat in the bag when you do something this cool. I am working on editing the video now. This is a Heffner Performance built 2008 Superleggera. This is a complete street car with full interior, a/c, no weight stripped out. A little while back this customer came to me and asked for the world's quickest Lamborghini. Well, now he has it. This car was driven to the track today. we made six or seven passes, each quicker than the last. At the end of the day we drove home with the world record. We have only begun to scratch the surface with regard to the potential that this car has. I can't wait to get the video done. Back to work!
  21. The car has arrived in New York. Unfortunately, Joe says he has something to do today. I think he said "work". Here's a quick dyno video of the car. Once Joe gets a few miles on it we'll get some more video footage going. Have a great weekend.
  22. Thank you. This was not at our shop. We took the car to a few different locatons to get some pictures, the best of which I will post shortly. This picture was taken at a ready mix concrete factory where we got a few good pictures before an angry gentleman yelled at us because we were on private property and asked us to leave. The TOYO's on this car at the mid to low 800 whp range hook up very well, at least on our warm roads here in Florida. They will generally put down 900 whp in first gear. P zero's don't even come close as far as grip goes.
