  3. Hi Mike, nice run at 209.88 mph. cheers, john
  4. Hi Leo, Congratulations on the impending nuptials. I have ben happily married for 40 years with a wife that indulges my car fantasies:) It sounds like mike is in the same boat with wife that indulges and even participates in his car fantasies! Some light relief but wise advice on marriage below cheers, john No English dictionary has been able to adequately explain the difference between these two words. In a recent linguistic competition held in London and attended by, supposedly, the best in the world, Samdar Balgobin, a Guyanese man, was the clear winner with a standing ovation which lasted over 5 minutes. The final question was: How do you explain the difference between COMPLETE and FINISHED in a way that is easy to understand? Some people say there is NO difference between COMPLETE and FINISHED. *Here is his astute answer:* When you marry the right woman, you are COMPLETE. When you marry the wrong woman, you are FINISHED and when the right one catches you with the wrong one, you are COMPLETELY FINISHED!!!
  5. .. and if you don't like the look of the 'new carbon fibre ' engine covers, you can always get the engine cover panels hydrographically dipped with a carbon fibre weave pattern. As an experiment, I went for the same oem carbon fibre weave 2x2 twill, but in a lighter grey same as Maserati. Great attention to detail by the dipper to get the pattern to line up across the four engine covers. cheers, john
  6. Very clever:) but unfortunately over here in Perth, mine is the only grigio lynx LP560-4:( Investment in a set of ahem "laser parking sensors" tuned to the right frequency is probably a better investment. cheers, john
  7. Great video of great cars. I don't know how it is in the states, but here in Western Australia around Perth, nearly every car has dash cams and the 'normal driver' is encouraged by the police to report you to the local constabularly for hoon or hoonigan driving on the freeways. http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/western-au...1f97fceb7eec0d3 A bit of a worry as new traffic law just passed that if you are going more than 55mph over the posted speed limit whatever it is, in town or country, then your car is automatically impounded and if of no value, crushed or if has some value, sold at auction. Our max speed limit in the country is 68mph. So having to buy the lambo back at auction would definitely turn out to be a very expensive fine- $200,000! Sort of spoils the fun. Will have to restrict speed to the track, drag strip and half mile events. A young driver from the shallow end of the gene pool, I suspect, even posted on youtube his 'hoonigan' driving and speeding showing the speedo and was surprised when the police rocked up at his place with order to surrender his car for crushing or auction! cheers, john
  8. I would agree with that as stage 3 Huracan /R8 with DCT would get a 0-60ft around 1.6 second and a quarter mile in 9.5 secs. I say this as I ran against a modern Pontiac GTO with drag slicks, roll cage and parachute. He ran a 0-60ft of 1.52 sec, ET of 9.3 sec and terminal speed of 152mph I ran a 0-60ft of 1.87sec, ET of 10.37 and terminal speed of 153mph. 1/8 mile speed was 115mph. I did have some wheel spin going from 3rd to 4th. So if I could get 0-60ft down to 1.70secs, ice up, I should break into the high nines, hopefully:). I also got kicked off the strip for running faster than 140mph without full roll cage and parachute:) My e-gear stage 3 with race heads on race gas , R888's, no ice, stock gear ratios regularly runs 1.86 sec for 0-60ft without a hard launch. You have to get it just right or you will run 2 sec 0-60ft. Using launch control, I once managed a 0-60ft of 1.78 sec, but too hard on the car IMHO. cheers, john
  9. From my experience, 255x35x19 s' will rub at the back on full lock 245x35x19's will also rub at the back:) cheers, john
  10. +1 for master sub forum LAMBO FORCEDINDUCTION cheers, john
  11. Hi Mike, Indeed, 7 is a lucky number! I sense that you are going to roll the dice and that there will be a UR Huracan in your future:) cheers, john
  12. Hi dustin, thanks for clarification There are a few Huracans around here that have gone for the black wrapped roof and highlights. Does set them apart. cheers, john
  13. Is this red stage 3 with race heads Huracan running with latest up graded DCT or sequential box? If running with DCT would have to be the ultimate street machine!!! cheers, john
  14. Yes it has. imho not in spirit of the forum. we should all get along as per kevins request.
  15. You can see that the factory is heading this way with the X frames in the engine bays of initially the Aventador and now the Huracan. cheers, john
  16. Gentlemen, We are all lucky enough to be members of the Audi/ lamborghini TT family with our Audi R8's and lambos Every tuner does the best he can by his clients. Keep it friendly. cheers, john
  17. Hi Leo, I like the sill decal also, but around town here in Perth, the local officers of the law are pretty hot on pulling over modified vehicles and checking if they are road legal for exhaust emissions and exhaust noise levels:( UR stage3's are not the quitest vehicles on the road:) So discretion is the better part of valour:) have you run your stage 3 with race heads in any half miles or quarter mile drags lately? cheers, john
  18. Hi fellow UR owners, I am very proud of my LP560-4 UR stage 3 with race heads. I was offered the full sill decal, but wishing to keep the car somewhat stealth, did not go with the sill decal. However, I have weakened and asked UR to provide me with some more subtle chrome UR shield decals. These have been applied to the rear side windows and a larger decal applied to the underside of the engine cover- see pics. They don't mean much to most observers, but do to those who know of UR's fame:) cheers, john
  19. Hi Dustin, the secret is out:) On my RS6, it runs the half mile faster in drive and suspension set to comfort at 155mph than in sport engine and suspension mode! The reason is that in drive the auto shifts gears at lower rpm than sport, with the shift taking place in each gear closer to peak torque than when in sport near redline when torque has fallen off. Also in the comfort suspension mode , the softer suspension allows for greater weight transfer from the front to the rear wheels assisting traction. As further evidence, at the drags last Wednesday night, a Chrysler SRT hemi owner could not get off the mark with lousy 60ft time. I suggested he take off in drive and set suspension to soft/street mode, explaining why. He made his run, came back and said ' thanks for the advice. I got a better 0-60 ft time, ET and terminal speed!'. So you don't have to wring the neck of your engine to get the best ET and terminal speed! I found with my Gallardo that ran a slightly better ET and terminal speed rolling into first gear than using launch control. Still had some wheelspin, but ran 10.3 secs and terminal speed of 154 mph. cheers, john
  20. Hi mike, congratulations, great result!!!! Did you do a dance like Moe? How did the wife go? cheers, john
  21. lol! we used to call them 'Japanese safety boots' on the rigs! cheers, john
  22. lhi duhawks, good one! and lambo UR TT drivers have been known to ask their fellow competitor at the start line just before they take off: "tell me if my brake lights are working" lol. cheers, john
  23. Hi Kevin, oooh! Mike will be a very happy camper:) cheers, john
  24. .. and who is the lurker in the background? lol
  25. Hi Mike, congrats on the purchase of a very nice car! Are you going to UR stage 3 with race heads AWD so a nice daily driver sleeper with big sting in the tail, so the wifey can drive it? Or going to X version like Richard Fowlers monster -UR3 so you can both feel the immense adrenaline rush at the half mile:) cheers, john
