  1. Yes. I have. Gone form standard LP gallardo to a UR stage 3 TT as daily driver and now 2009 LP560-4 as a daily driver while re fettling my UR stage 3 TT after 50,000 miles of 'spirited' driving. If you have a 800 rwhp vette, you will be underwhelmed with the performance of a pre-lp Gallardo. A 560-4 LP Gallardo has stronger performance and is nicely balanced. A LP 570- 4 Gallardo even more so. As you are a hands on mechanic, the manual Gallardo , if you can find one is easier to work on., A comparable car performance wise to your vette would be a stage 3 UGR TT, but pricing again a lot higher. Prices coming down as more owners switch to UGR Huracans. The naturally aspirated Gallardo in whatever form are very reliable as a result of their german Audi DNA in my experience. The UR TT also very reliable due to the bullet proof UR engineering, in my experience. The one thing that wont underwhelm you is the attention you will get on the road and wherever you park up as the Gallardo is a classic supercar. So be prepared for that! Whatever Gallardo you get into, I am sure that you will become a tragic as the other forum members are. cheers, john ps my brother is an old style vette tragic, so we both go to our local classic cars and coffee together.   4. UR cars are perfect and reliable when they leave the shop! If you want changes done, lowering, etc, have them all done when in the UR shop. The Huracan Performante TT does look fantastic though when left the UR shop. I am not a fan of removing the rear bumper. Prefer the more understated standard looking Performante, well as understated as a Performante can be- 'the iron fist in the velvet glove' look. But I can understand why the owner would like to strike fear into the heart of other hipo supercars when they see the UR turbo set up! cheers, john
  5. Hi Babybull89, congrats on buying your 2011 LP550-2. You will love the car. The LP series is very reliable. You have bought german reliability with beautiful Italian styling. The only relative weak point in the lambo is the e-gear clutch. Not because of its design as it is a very reliable component but because of the way drivers use it. Google up 'how to drive an e-gear Gallardo Lamborghini' and you will get a lot of good advice from the forums. The key to maximising clutch life IMHO is to engage the clutch briskly when taking off or going in reverse, coast in neutral when coming to a stop, minimize reversing up steep inclines and driveways, never ever drive with your foot on the brake and the accelerator at the same time and drive in sport mode or even corsa-never auto. cheers, john
  6. Hi Unabomber, I applaud and congratulate you for your effort and sporting spirit. Good to see your GTR and other competitors taking it up to the UR cars. To me participation in these events and enjoying yourself is the name of the game. I have been a rooster one year and feather duster the next year in these events in Oz, but love every minute of it regardless of the outcome, as you do. cheers, john
  7. Yes, it looked like the Viper driver #95 could only drive flat out. Very frustrating for the driver in the green Huracan #1 racing against the white viper #95, I bet. I assume from the drivers registration list, KC was driving the Huracan Whoever was driving the Huracan could be forgiven for thinking 'what is this turkey doing? I just want a legit roll race!' Great showing by the UR cars and drivers. cheers, john
  8. Hi Woosh, UR build carried out at 23,500 miles. Now at 48,500 miles. So 23,500 miles on the UR build and engine still running as strong as the day it was delivered. Still runs 196 mph in the standing half mile. Still on the original UR clutch. Grand Champion at Racewars2017. Some light relief- I am a crap roll racer but got highest speed Vmax in half mile and standing start 1000metres- on the rev limiter at 203mph at 900 metre mark. on this you tube clip, I love the start of the race and the commentators enthusiastic comment on the lambo ! Very aussie! https://www.facebook.com/racewarsau/videos/1240244772763734/ Twice across the US and seven times across Australia as a daily driver plus a few half miles - one in the US- WGF and several in Oz (800 metres) and 1000 metre sprint events in between! A testament to the reliability of the UR stage 3 as a 'daily driver' street car and the build quality from UR, Kevin and the team. Bummer about the rain delay! cheers, john

  10. I would love to see this Huracan run at our drag strip! I like the 'mean' look for the drag strip A funny car outlaw nitro Countach shell dragster that ran at our local drag strip, got plenty of attention, especially from the younger fans! That was a shell, but this is a real street car Huracan with drag slicks. Would gain great street cred for the Lamborghini marque amongst another sector of car enthusiasts! Of course we will never see this huracan here in our backwater, but I am sure it will have an electrifying effect in the US. stay safe. cheers, john
  11. At those insane power levels and speeds, I would suggest need to run more down force front and rear to ensure hold traction safely on sub-optimal surfaces, if you decided to run on them anyway. Stay safe guys. cheers, john

  13. I am with Fortis on what IMHO King of the Street should be. The GTR and cars of similar ilk, fine and fast machines that they are, and all credit to their builders and tuners, should run in a separate Unlimited Modifications Class for a King of the Track title, not King of the Street. I have never seen a drag chute on a street car or turbo exhausts coming out of the hood! Admittedly the front mounted turbo exhausts would look impressive at night on the street and useful for toasting marshmallows, until the local constabulary pulled you over and handed you the defect notice/ticket to remove the car from the street. cheers, john

Unbelievable! congratulations to Gidi as the driver, or should I say pilot of the 256.99mph Huracan and also UGR for building a Huracan that can run reliably at what must be the current insane power level -eek! Congrats on the DCT Huracan new record at 233 mph. The DCT gets stronger and stronger! cheers, john
  18. As Leo would attest, even a humble UR stage 3 with 1250rwhp would walk a 650rwhp Porsche 991, fine car that the Porsche is. Great for the Porsche to run against Gabe's Huracan showing the true spirit of run what ya brung! cheers, john
  19. On the viper engine, I have been reliably informed that "the 8 litre V10 engine was fettled by Lamborghini engineers when Lamborghini was under Chrysler ownership". As quoted in Wikipedia : "Lamborghini engineers revamped Dodge's cast-iron block V10 for the Viper by recasting the block and heads in aluminum alloy. Prototype blocks were cast by Lamborghini, at the time a Chrysler division" Perhaps the viper tt builders can offer a warranty for 1250 rwhp as extra 3 litres to contribute power so engine not as stressed as a 1250 rwhp lambo engine with only 5 or 5.2 litres. Of course the viper putting that power down on the ground from a standing start and through the gears is another question. I have seen stage 3 UR TT beat a blown twin turbo big block monaro (Pontiac gto) with 1500 rwhp in the standing start half mile!! cheers, john
  20. Hi Leo, 1R certainly is a killer package, but you have to change 6th gear to allow higher speed than oem 203 mph to make use of the race gas 1650 rwhp. cheers, john

  22. Hi need4speed, Kevin would be the best person to answer this. I know from my limited experience of 25 sprints or so that logically, icing the reservoir resulting in lower inlet air temps should give more power. UR would not go to the trouble of making a lovely intercooler reservoir with provision for icing, if icing was not of benefit. Frankly, I personally have not been able to 'feel' the difference as don't have vbox. The 'butt dyno' is not known for accuracy when you are hanging onto the steering wheel under full acceleration, I give you the big tip-eek! but vbox would tell you. I have found that for me picking the right rpm to change up in the lower gears so as to get onto max boost in 3rd gear and up as fast as possible is most critical for a good Vmax. just my two cents worth. cheers, john
