  1. The switch is identified with an icon of the spoiler; a complete explanation is found on page 166 of the Owner's Manual. Hope this helps...
  2. I am not familiar with BAR mode but I believe on my 2014 Aventador there is a switch on the center console to raise the spoiler manually. This is also described in the Owner's Manual. If your car is a 2014 it should be there.
  3. My model arrived approximately 2.5 months prior to delivery.
  4. RB ...thanks for the levity. I cannot stop laughing.
  5. Perhaps selling prices are to a minor extent a function of economic conditions in various geographical regions...but data are needed as, the only "evidence" presented to this point, is anecdotal. Let's see the numbers.
  6. I wish you would have posted the name of the dealer and discount amount prior to my writing a check two weeks ago for my 2014 Aventador.
  7. Nothing about the introduction has surfaced from an OH dealer. Since I purchased a new Gallardo 560-4 Spyder from the dealership in the spring of 2011 and a 2014 Aventador (delivered during the snow storm last Friday) I hoped an invitation would be forthcoming. It seems we Northern Kentuckians are not worthy.
  8. Weather permitting my new 2014 Aventador is scheduled for delivery Friday. As roads have previously been treated with highly corrosive magnesium chloride and calcium chloride and up to 3 inches of snow and ice are forecast for Friday (coupled with ice pellets a favorite term of forecasters in this area) it is likely the car will not be driven for some time. As a result I have been searching for the preferred way to connect a battery maintainer. Opinions vary and the Owner’s Manual is not clear. There are two power outlets…one in the trunk and the other the lighter receptacle. Some suggest using the outlet in the trunk to connect the maintainer while others use the lighter receptacle. My Lamborghini tech recommended connecting the maintainer to the jump points in the engine compartment. Per the Owner’s Manual the power sources in the car (trunk and lighter) are not available unless the instrument cluster is illuminated. Further on page 114 appears an important caveat: “To prevent damage to the vehicle’s electrical system never connect electric power supplies such as solar panels or battery chargers not approved by Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A to…either outlet.” Does this imply if a maintainer is approved by Lamborghini it may be connected to either? On page 331 of the Owner’s Manual under the heading Periods of Disuse we find the recommendation to “charge the battery at a buffer charge rate.” Nothing, however, is mentioned about the optimal means of connection. My knowledge of electricity equates to a nullity. If an electrical engineer would chime in with a professional opinion re the correct mode of connecting a battery maintainer I suspect many Lamborghini owners will benefit. Many thanks...
  9. Toofdoc, you are correct on the color. Once again selection is personal preference as for me a highly polished gloss back finish free of swirls and defects is perfect. A second reason all my vehicles are gloss black where possible (had to compromise when ordering my 2013 BMW X5 M as a metallic was the only black offered) is I have absolutely no sense of color. My original pro forma for the Aventador included a number of carbon fiber options that, according to the factory, were not available during the month of production. These including the full interior along with the engine bay will be retrofitted once they may be ordered through parts.
  10. Clearly it is personal preference but for me heated (and cooled seats, if available) along with an upgraded sound system are highly desirable if not mandatory. If the heated steering wheel option were offered this box would also be checked. While, in my opinion, they are positives for resale I always try to spec any vehicle to match my preferences rather than for the next buyer. I am looking forward to checking out both options as my Aventador arrived at the dealership late yesterday. Expected delivery will be next week as the bull will spend time at a spa for the clear bra installation.
  11. For my order the option(s) deleted was (were) the carbon fiber interior option which I believe includes the seats and trim. I suspect retrofitting the trim, excluding the door handles, will not pose problems. The seats, however, may be troublesome. Ever since I saw the carbon fiber seat trim on a 599 it became a must have option for me. The costs...who knows? I am not pleased...actually irritated. There may be other options on restriction. If your sales rep checks with Lambo and knows your specific options along the month of your build he can get the information. Apparently, availability, restriction, etc. are to some extent a function of timing of the build. It is disappointing to see coupes and roadsters now arriving with the options I ordered. While I am venting the irony of the situation is I was offered a build for a roadster in April with the options I selected for delivery in July. Now I am annoyed...thinking about this results in a rather foul humor. Hope your build encounters no set backs and you do not have to experience the same frustration.
  12. ToofDoc is correct. I placed an order for a 2014 Aventador accompanied with a deposit in April of this year. The order was accepted by the factory in May and the dealer received an allocation for the build the same month. The car is now "in process" with an estimated completion date in October. A month or so ago I took a trip to the dealer to see the facilities and to check on the status of my order. All was not well. Pulling up the pro forma indicated the sell price had declined because, according to the Lamborghini rep, the factory placed restrictions on certain options. It may be possible to retrofit the options but the deletion is disappointing. I purchased my Gallardo Spyder new from dealer stock in June 2011 so the non-availability issue did not present. The same problem did arise when ordering a 2011 Porsche Turbo S with similar options. This appears to be pervasive among different brands.
  13. My specs are considerably more modest than those of ToofDoc. Given Lamorghini's color palette, I suppose many will consider my exterior choice rather prosaic...black. Options include: Dione rims (silver), yellow calipers, yellow rear springs, yellow stitching, multifunction steering wheel with perforated leather, premium sound, electric and heated seats, Homelink, park assist, branding package, transparent engine bonnet, T engine cover in CF, both CF interior packages and the recently released software upgrade for exhaust sound. I decided against black wheels (have black Cordelia rims on the Gallardo) as in my opinion the wheels appear too small. Prior to delivery clear bra will be installed in the most vulnerable areas...compete front, full hood, full fenders, rockers, etc.
  14. First post...sounds as if ToofDoc and I are facing a similar situation. My order has been placed for a 2014 Aventador scheduled for production during the fourth quarter of 2013. 2010 Gallardo 560-4 Spyder 2013 BMW X5 M
