  1. Great to see another Shelby Cobra owner! "There is nothing nice about a Cobra. It is stripped down to the essentials- a big engine, a small car, and four wide tires to keep the whole business on pavement. Its loud, smells like gasoline, and shakes, shudders, and bucks. It makes your arms tired and your feet hot. You nearly crash about once every 10 minutes. It’s so damn wonderful that you can’t believe it" Automobile Magazine 2004 My CSX (not a replica or kit car) makes my Aventador seem like a Prius. One other thing...the sound is deafening.
  2. A dichotomy presents between quarterly and annual data. For the complete financial overview check out the following link: http://www.marketwatch.com/story/ferrari-n...2015-2016-02-02
  3. Brazilian cherry was installed about 15 years and the floors appear as new. The Rotts have not damaged the finish or wood. In my opinion, this would be an excellent choice although some bamboos may be harder. I believe there is a rating scale for hardness which may be worth investigating.
  4. I have a 2015i Platinum which serves as my “dog wagon” and general purpose vehicle. The cargo area easily accommodates 700 series international canine shipping crates which, for me, is critical when picking up dogs shipped from Germany. Some dogs arrive in a foul humor that prevents transferring crates. So far the vehicle has been perfect as no problems have presented and the vehicle is vibration free. Fit, finish and build quality seem better than the BMW X5 M. The semi aniline leather is exceptional and puts the leather in the X5 M to shame. Leather in the X5 M has the suppleness of cardboard. The electronic driving and safety aids are useful and function as described. Especially appreciated are the hands free opening of the “tailgate”and the nanny that precludes backing into an object (I tested it and it works). Adaptive cruise works flawlessly. Unlike the Cayenne Turbo S I owned and the X5 M the rear AC actually works. Another plus is the Escalade is a truck and fully capable of towing and hauling duties. It has proved to be the ideal utility vehicle for my needs.
  5. Here is Greg...AD BH ZTP (all V's in performance) IPO (SchH scores 92 95 99) HIT Multiple V's in conformation
  6. Three weeks ago I received information re the hypercar in order to gauge my interest. At that time it was indicated world production would be 30 cars and the price was estimated to be $1.5 million USD.
  7. Thanks for the articulate and comprehensive critique of the SV. Paragraph 4 captures the reasons I cancelled my standing order as the SV is a bit too hardcore for my driving enjoyment. Not only is there no carpet but, according to dealer sales information, there is no sound insulation. Re weight savings, once the comfort seats, infotainment, front lift. etc. are checked on the order sheets the the weight approximates the weight of my 2014 Aventador with the factory racing exhaust. Furthermore, the performance differences reported as .1 or .2 seconds difference in acceleration from 0 to 62 mph would be imperceptible for me. For the market segment tracking the car, it will be monster. In all likelihood another Aventador update is on the horizon which, if as expected, will be in my garage.
  8. "No one is going to scan no title and email it to anyone?!" Why not? Blacken name and address and what remains, at least in Kentucky, is the title number, VIN which also may be partially hidden, the year, car and model along with sales or usage tax paid.
  9. It is a matter of preference. It would be interesting to determine how many (or what percentage) of current Aventador owners on Lambo Power have: 1) as of today submitted an order and deposit 2) are presently undecided 3) have no or little interest in the SV Ownership would be verified by scanning a copy of the car's title and emailing it to a moderator to establish qualification to participate in this part of the survey. Alternatively, how many non Aventador owners on Lambo Power plan to purchase a SV?
  10. Perhaps it is premature to criticize but the SV is much less than expected. In my opinion, the bits and pieces, especially the wing, are not well integrated with the overall design of the Aventador; personally, they seem to detract. I am high on the dealer's list but...
  11. "does anyone think that eventually Aventadors will go even lower in price in the future"... If they depreciate and they will.
  12. The racing exhaust, in my opinion, does not justify an additional 5 figure expenditure. For me, the software upgrade has been worthwhile and satisfactory.
  13. +1 Recently the opportunity presented to spend a couple of hours with David Donohue and the 918. The car is scary quick and immediately responsive probably because of the almost instantaneous torque of the electric motors. Steering feel, in my opinion, is excellent and preferred over the Aventador. Ride seemed much firmer than my A. PDK was flawless; braking was excellent as would be expected but the regenerative sounds are initially disconcerting. Handling was superb. In my view the car is a remarkable if not a landmark milestone for Porsche. In full electric mode the car is eerily silent. In terms of design and styling the Aventador wins for me. For some reason entry and exit from the 918 seemed difficult requiring one to be something of a contortionist. Of average size (6 feet and 145 lbs.) and reasonably good condition (jogging 25 miles weekly with a Rott) ingress and egress were a struggle. The Aventador presents no difficulty whatsoever probably because of the scissor door configuration. Reservations center on complexity, battery replacement and how the rapidity of technological advances will impact future values. For me, the experience with the car reaffirmed just how good the Aventador is.
  14. +1 and I do own an Aventador. The DCT (PDK) is precisely why I sold my Porsche Turbo S. Don't castrate the bull.
  15. Finally, with the x-brace installed the engine bay is complete. Excuse the poor quality camera photo.
  16. Since my car (2014) was at the dealership in March (carbon fiber upgrades) the campaigns were subsequently implemented. The dealer's service manager always emails me as new releases are announced.
  17. The dealer is scheduled to pickup my Aventador next week for the upgrades and for the installation of more carbon fiber pieces. Once back I will share my impressions. Thanks for the review.
  18. Comparative Sound Bite from Cincinnati Oh. Cars and Coffee last weekend...Mods, please delete if link is deemed a violation of forum policy.
  19. Hannibal is correct. The shocks tie into the brace and it appears they will need to be unbolted to remove the steel brace and then reattached to the carbon substitute during installation. The question is do the shocks require compression prior to unbolting? It seems as if they do. The 4 carbon or composite panels will also require removal to access mounting bolts. Once removed are the bolts easily reached? Since my mechanical knowledge and skills equate to a nullity it seems prudent to me to have a professional do the install.
  20. Many thanks!!! Also, thanks to Hannibal and Jagata for the compliment on the seats. For me, the carbon fiber interior option was a must. Once the carbon engine brace arrives and is installed the car will be complete until the service manager at the dealership sends an email with a photo of a new carbon piece Lamborghini released.
  21. Planned production for mine was October; it was completed as scheduled. It arrived in port (Baltimore) on November 19 and was delivered to the dealer on November 26. My recollection may be incorrect but once you have the VIN check "port examiner"...this may not be the precise nomenclature...for supplementary information including the bill of lading, etc. The dealer supplied the VIN at least a month or so prior to production.
  22. Correct about ordering...several weeks ago I ordered the brace for my Aventador. It is a nice complement to the carbon fiber in the engine bay.
