  1. No problem. PM sent. Have you ever VBOX'd the SL?
  2. I am in Central NJ. Around New Brunswick. I assume I'll be going to you since you know some good roads?
  3. Yeah, definitely agree on the no one to race part.
  4. That is a large issue. I've contemplated that for a while and that's one of the reasons I didn't immediately go the TT route. In addition, in NJ there are no roads to do anything here, there's about 1.5 people per square foot. But luckily, recently I've found a couple HPF Stage 2.5 M3s and some boosted Z-06's that may be up for it. I'm definitely going the bolt on route if it happens. Not full build cuz I'm broke hobo. Are you up to wake up early on a weekend? That's usually when I prefer, less traffic, cooler temps, and less police officers. So just the SL and the 997TT?
  5. Thanks. I am glad we are in agreement with something. It's all in good fun I know what my car is capable of and what it isn't. I know a 997TT w/ mild mods (intake, exhaust, tune), on a 40-130 roll, will be very close and the deciding factor will be driver. After I race Mike's LP560, win or lose, I think I'm going to start discussing TT-ing with some tuners so that I can finally get out of this slow bracket.
  6. I actually want to race three of your cars, the SL, the 997TT and also the RS6 if it's modded. I promise I'll make some epic video for you if you allow me to do this King of Prussia aint far from me. Let's meet up.
  7. 134 seems really fast ... but then 30-70 (4.2 seconds) seems really slow. My car does 40-70 in 2.2 seconds, I reckon I would do 30-70 in 4.0 seconds at most.
  8. I don't know what the real curb weight on my car is, but I'm going off the Wiki # of 3407. Full exhaust, seats, battery, carbon bonnet, and wheels weigh out to about 220 lbs, this was all weighed out on a scale and not speculation. I don't see why it wouldn't dyno 460. A bunch of people on here dyno'd 425-435 bone stock. I have a full exhaust and tune and I'm sure 30whp is not out of the question on something like that. Doing math, I dyno'd 385 w/o the tune and 415 w/ the tune. Even if my full exhaust did nothing and 385 was close to stock, comparing it to 425whp dyno's that other people get my tuned # should still be about 455-460. As for the VBOX times, most times on the internet are a wash because they are different days, different roads, different driver, different cars, different temps, different everything. The times I have are of a bunch of cars, all on the same day, same temperature, same road. If you average the times out, I ran 9.1, the 997TT ran 9.1, the LP560 ran 8.9, a fully bolted on GTR ran 8.2 and a stock 997TT Cab ran 10.5. What I'm saying Allan, is that from a dead stop, I'll lose to a Prius, because I don't launch my car at all, nor do I ever intend to. From a roll, I speculate that I stand a fighting chance against mildly modded (intake, exhaust, headers, tune) 997TT (dependent on driver of the Porsche) Eat shit, you're just mad that I'm a fast non-turbo'd Gallardo Mako: we aren't arguing the LP560 at this point. I know I'll lose to one but not by a huge margin (at least I hope not). Me and Allan are just in disagreement about my personal Gallardo's ability against a couple 997TTs.
  9. Here are my three statements: 1/4 and Trap No one runs from a dead stop. As you know I didn't launch the car and I didn't nail the throttle til the 60' mark. The ET is obviously going to be shit. Looking at the trap, running 120 w/o launch and losing some distance @ the start is saying something. He averaged 121 and 120 with a launch. 60-130 The 997TT I raced ran on the same day that we all did our VBOX pulls. He ran two back to back 9.10 and 9.11s. On the same road, same day, same temperature, I pulled inconsistent #s but ran between 8.7 and 9.4. If you can post better times than me (an 8.7) with just a cat-delete, that means that both you and I are in agreement that a Gallardo with my spec would beat a 997TT and also an LP560 since you ran 8.9 with Mike's. On any other day (pre-tune) I would run 8.9-9.1 depending on road and temp. I agree, the 7.9 was a fluke, I was surprised too. I just decided to submit it just for kicks. The Video The video is a real world representation of what these cars can do. The 997TT has turbos, it's an automatic. There will be lag when compared to me driving a 6-speed N/A motor. Given the fact that our VBOX #s are so close, the N/A car will always pull ahead slightly at the start and then the 997TT has to play catchup @ this point. The second race definitely had him beating me because (1) I hit the limiter and (2) my car probably hates me. But the other three, if the 997TT was truly a faster car, you would see it start reeling me back. But I would get that initial 1-2 car length jump and maintain it throughout the entire race without him reeling at all. That just means the two cars are evenly matched. Math Some speculation here, as we both know that power to weight is not everything. But here's a rough estimate: Gallardo = 3200lbs./460whp (my dyno shows 416, but I fail to believe that because it was run in very hot conditions on a low reading dyno and a bunch of other stock 06 Gs have dyno'd higher) = 6.95 Porsche = 3450lbs./510whp = 6.76 I will definitely beat a stock 997TT, there was a cabriolet @ at the VBOX day we had that pulled between 10.5-11.0. Factoring the weight of the convertible, @ best, on the same day, a stock 997.1 TT would've ran high 9s low 10s. Now a bolt on car, it depends on what bolt ons, I think it would be down to the driver. I'll probably race another one soon (sometime September) and that should be an accurate representation. Now, if you can pull consistent sub 8.5 second times, I will concede that the modded 997TT is faster, but there is no way a stock one is faster than me. EDIT: And I said "Bolt on" not "Full bolt on"
  10. Face it, I will beat or draw with a bolt on (intake, tune, exhaust) 997TT, my VBOX #s say that, my videos say it, and my 1/4 trap speeds say it. If I have to, I will race two more bolt on 997TTs (both manual) w/ softronic tune, full exhaust, and intake to show you. The only thing I got left to do is race an LP560, then it's off to see the wizard.
  11. I don't care for that car at all. I rather have an SLR all day long.
  12. I'm in the process of buying race wheels from CCW in 18". John said that it is more about ratio of front to rear than the actual variance in sizes. I'm planning to get 18x9 and 18x12 wheels and run Hoosier R6s in 245/35/18 and 315/30/18, respectively. But keep in mind that different tire brands have different outer diameters.
  13. Yeah, very quick. Supposedly this is as fast as they get on stock block.
  14. Thanks Ryan. Was a pleasure as well. But I would like those Gallardo Quad Tips!
  15. Not gonna lie, these wheels look good, but I liked the old ones better.
  16. Blue like my car would be perfect on that color.
  17. Of course, anything for a fellow videographer
  18. Well I just ordered a 2 meter version. Supposedly it's smoother and more stable because of the wider track. Also, the length is a plus to substitute as a short run dolly. Mine comes in at the end of the week or early next week.
  19. Sweet, 24" or 36"? I recommend taking a look at the glide track.
  20. Jay, I love the work on the video! Especially the slider shots. Which one did you get? I'm looking to pick up a 6 foot Glidetrack for extended uses now.
