  1. UPDATE: Now asking: $183K USD. Open to reasonable offer. Now of interest to Americans also! That is $228K CAD, which is now a 25% drop to USD. If the CAD price looks high, keep in mind that Canadian cars sell for a premium, just like they do in Australia, and other countries. Due to the very recent currency swing, the USD price is in line with other 2012 LP-560s selling on autotrader.com in the USA. Given the condition, warranty, features and options, mileage, 560, one-owner, non-molested (all original), no-story Gallardo. There can easily be a $20K difference in the price of a used G, usually for a good reason. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update. Now that the US dollar is worth 25% more than a Canadian dollar, buy my car! You save like $55,000 on my asking price. That is significant moola! Make a move before the currency swings back and FOREX works against you. Look, whether you buy my car, or some other Canadian Gallardo does not matter, just be aware that Canadian G prices have now dropped 25% for American buyers. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Someone will get a great car.... And bringing in a Canadian car into the USA does not require any changes to the car. So nice, no hassle import. Spring is coming! Upgrade your car now. PS. Corvette is now sold, and a new 2015 Z51 Stingray is in the garage. (can't edit the title of the thread.....)

  5. Almost as weird as your avatar. Actually less weird than that. LMAO.
  6. You are obligated if its an accident claim in some jurisdictions, and if it is over a certain value. But not for stuff you fix yourself..... If I bought that car and this kind of damage was undisclosed, and then found the damage and this thread, I would crucify the seller.
  7. LOL! You meant to say 1 year plus 1 week, right?
  8. Was at the dealer today. There is a long wait list, so I will take another look when the backlog clears in a year. So the short answer is No.
  9. Hey Rhyno! Long time no see. Now we know why yours does not chirp! Working on a solution....
  10. Update: After calling a ton of dealerships on both sides of the border this is what I finally found out. All USA Gallardos that can chirp (ie. that have the optional alarm system) chirp. They come that way from the factory. All Canadian Gallardos do NOT chirp. If you have a Canadian car that does, it is a USA car that was imported and has the OEM car alarm. So, now that this mystery is half-solved, need to figure out how to program the car to enable the Canadian Gallardo to chirp on lock. And that is proving to be a big problem....
  11. Hi Jeff! I take it that is NOT the same one as in the first photo in this thread, since that does not look like a bell housing to me. Or is it ? (I get confused by Alien technology on these imports) So is there actually 4 drain points on the LP560/550 as follows? 1. Oil tank (tank at back of car). 2. Oil pan/sump at bottom of engine. Front bolt shown in first pic in thread. 3. Biscuit shown in first pic in thread. 4. Biscuit that Jeff mentions in mid bottom of timing cover next to bell housing. Do all MY of the 560 have that one, since neither I nor Turbo50Mike are aware of it? Or are #3 and #4 above the same thing? If there are indeed 4 drain points, does anyone have a distant photo of exactly where that one is when the car is on the hoist? PS Good catch Mike about the sideboard coolant plug. Not a good one to remove when the engine is HOT~!
  12. Yes. All Gallardos with the alarm system have these 2 buttons behind the driver's seat. And as a confirmation that the siren is actually functional, when you stick your arm into the car thru an open window while it is armed, the siren goes off. I can now confirm that it looks like only cars with the alarm system are *capable* of chirping. That now explains why some owner's cars do not chirp. But many with the alarm system should chirp, but are failing to do so. I am escalating this to Lambo corporate now, but that could be a long wait for a response....
  13. Hi Lautos, OK, from your description, the car MUST have an alarm system for the door lock chirp confirmation to occur, correct? Our car, like endless others, will lock and arm the car (red light blinking on doors) but no siren beep. That is the problem.
  14. Fortis, thanks for your help with this! Much appreciated. The local Lambo dealer now tried the procedure on 2 Gallardos. It failed on both. The response code on the analyser was "coding 1024 not active", and it aborted the operation. The suspected factors of NAV/no NAV have now been ruled out as a possibility of why the car does not chirp. I do suspect the car has to have the optional alarm system for the siren to be present and chirp, if the sound is indeed high pitch siren sound, and not a car horn sound. Been working hard on solving this. I have a few more calls to make across the USA, but I will go all the way to corporate in USA and then to Italy if I can not get an answer on this side of the ocean from one of the "authorized" dealers. Solving this has now become an obsession. Surely this can not be that hard to figure out. 1/2 the Gallardos do it, the other half do not. It is almost like it is a secret that nobody wants us to find out. I have spoken with some USA dealers, and owners. Every dealer I speak with has stated that they know of an owner who would also like this feature turned ON. Frustrating. Out of the 11000 cars built over the last decade, you would think I would not be the FIRST to go and dig deep to figure it out. What happened to the other 5500 guys whose car does not beep? Surely one of those guys figured it out already with the help of a Lambo tech? And it *should* be a repeatable procedure on different Gallardos. And why is the factory keeping it a secret? Hoping perhaps your 2nd guy or another Lambo tech on this forum can solve this mystery, maybe by talking to their "Italian connection" Also confirmed via Audi forums that the option can be coded via the vag-com system in module 46 by adding 1024 to the value. One post said this enables the visibility of the chirp ON/OFF option in the "Setting" button of the MMI (Multi media Interface) deck. But this does not work on the Gallardo. Still stumped how to make this happen. Any insight that your 2nd tech can provide will be much appreciated!
  15. Got a bit more info. Is it possible that the alarm only chirps on Gallardos with NAV enabled on the Multi Media Interface (MMI) system? Ours does not chirp, and it does not have NAV. On NAV-enabled decks, the chirp apparently can be activated via the "Settings" button on the NAV-enabled MMI system. There should be a simple user-selected option on the screen for it. UPDATE: Dealer looked at a NAV car today, and the function is NOT visible. So not consistent on NAV-enabled cars. So there goes that theory. Anybody without NAV whose alarm does chirp? Fortis, yes, the car does have the 2 alarm switches (tilt and inside monitoring switches) beside the seat. I contacted local dealer with the info you provided. They are looking into it now, and taking the NAV/no Nav possibility into account.\\ UPDATE: Apparently on Audis, you can turn it ON with the VAG-COM system in Module 46 by adding 1024 as the value (as Fortis noted above). Then the setting becomes visible in the MMI deck, and is user-configurable. Can any Lambo tech confirm this also holds true for the Gallardo model?
  16. Thanks Vbugking! Your note (and others I got on another forum) confirm it. It is a high pitch alarm syren chirp, and NOT a car horn chirp. That may help the dealer to figure out where to turn it ON. We are making progress. I am sure many Gallardo owners will want to have the chirp enabled, when we finally figure it out. Waiting on Fortis (Thanks!) to see if his mechanic can shed some light on this
  17. Hi Fortis, Great! Many thanks for looking into how it is done. I need a starting point to go to my local authorized Lambo dealer with. Like if it was done with an aftermarket relay, or some kind of OEM press of a programming button with the Lambo computer, like they do with Daytime Running Lights. They are not familiar with it and have never done one, although they are one of the largest volume Lambo dealers in North America. So your help is much appreciated. Thanks. Why I need to do this: When I am walking away from the car, and the sun is shining on the tail-lights, I can not tell if the car is locking or not. So I have to retrace my steps back to the car, and listen for the door actuator locking the door. The chirp would be a nice safety feature to have enabled, as a confirmation that the car is actually locking.
  18. Hi Fortis, Thanks for the info. I remember you being somewhere in Canada also? Who is your mechanic? One of the Lambo dealers? If you could please shoot me his contact info, I could get in touch with him to see how to do it. Does not matter where they are located. Thanks!
  19. Hey Guys, Has anyone figured out how to turn ON the chirp on locking doors on the Gallardo via the remote? I thought it was possible, because some owners claiming their cars so chirp. I am also being told by others that this is not true. Can anyone here post a solution? And can any owners whose Gallardo chirps on door lock please post their year, sub-model of Gallardo, and what country the car was originally delivered into? Trying to narrow down why some cars chirp while others do not. I have been talking to our dealer, but they do not know how to turn ON the chirp. I have also spoken with Lambo corporate, and they also do not know. I have been led to believe that NONE Gallardos of any year chirp the horn.
  20. Jeff, do you know or anyone else know if the 2012 560-4 has similar setup? I believe there is only 1 drain point on the motor, plus another in the oil tank. Plus the biscuit. Not 2 bolts as shown on the first photo in this thread. Or did I miss a bolt? i.e. I would be a bit surprised the 2012 550 and 560 would have different oiling, but I am not intimately familiar with the engine layout difference. Last, Do you know if the biscuit has a crush washer that should be replaced? I haven't opened that one up yet.
  21. That's right Lamboperth. Those are the same on our 2012 560. Now we need someone with a 550 to show us the other 2 mystery drain points.....
  22. 4 drain plugs? I found only 2 on our 2012 560. Why does the 2013 550 have 4 drain ports? Is the engine that different from the 560?
