  1. Every test I've read says the SLS kills the SLR.
  2. My LP640 has 2 pressure stickers on the door. One says 34psi all round and the other says 44psi....
  3. +1. Especially as the yellow kills the green as a colour.
  4. I did this mod on my LP ages ago and it works perfectly. The car has a much more musical note at low speeds. No difference in power and no problems at all.
  5. Mirror needs to be replaced. Hopefully under goodwill policy as car is a month out of warranty.
  6. I got a price on a rear camera for my LP640 and quickly decided to stay "pure"!
  7. Thanks. There's a round plate underneath with a star head screw. I'll try that first.
  8. The passenger door mirror on my LP640 is loose on its rotational axis. Anyone else have this happen? Any ideas how I can tighten it up? My dealer is a day's drive away so I'd like to fix it.
  9. Love the car but not the wait to get one.
  10. I drove the car yesterday on a road where I knew I could bottom the front lip and the plates do the trick nicely. They are made of nylon and have good wear resistance - I could only just see where the plate had touched the road. If you don't want to see them, make sure the tech fits them well back. Daniel Romeo at Solitaire fitted mine and he suggested your installer calls him before starting work and he can save him some time. His number is (08) 8152 5100.
  11. Got the plates fitted by Lamborghini Adelaide today. It took longer than expected as no-one has installed these plates before here- about 4 hours. The tech said he could do it faster next time now he knows what to do. The main problem is that to fit the nuts to the supplied bolts, an undertray needs to be removed to allow access to the inside of the bar. It is glued in place with sealant and rivets and took some getting out. It then needed to be re-installed afterwards and new goo used to seal it up again, plus the rivets. I asked the tech to fit the plates as far back as possible to make them invisible when standing right in front of the car. This mean modding the plates slightly to allow access to the rivet holes. Because the job took longer than expected it was 6pm and dark when I drove out. I haven't road tested it yet but I will on the weekend. When you see the battle scars on the underside of the lip after 10,000km, you realise that something needs to be done to protect it. I hope this does the job.
  12. OK, plates just arrived and look great. I fitted them with double sided tape to see what they look like and the fit is perfect. I'll now get the dealer to fit them with the bolts supplied and (hopefully) get some pics on the hoist as well as at street level. They are very light, thin enough not to be obvious and have a bevelled leading edge. When fitted they look like a stock fitment - at least in the dusk light. I'll be back in a few days with pics and a road test.
  13. All of us have some damage to the underside of the spoiler. That's why we want a skidplate - to stop more damage. By the look of it, it covers the entire bottom of the lower LP spoiler and all the standard Murci spoiler. The centre section of the LP spoiler is plenty high enough to avoid contact; it is the lower lip that need help. I'll let you know if it works when mine arrives.
  14. I'll post a pic once I've got and installed the plates .
  15. I've emailed Premier to order the skid plates. Thanks guys.
  16. Anyone got any pics of skid plates fitted to an LP640? I'm keen to see if fitting skid plates spoils the look of the car. The lift is fine for driveways etc but not much good when hitting dips in the road at speed.
  17. Allan, you are right about women liking the car. I drove one and thought mmm, maybe - then I went to Monaco last year and noticed all the GTC's I saw were being driven by women. It is a rich girl's car. Hell, even Paris bought one! But it is a seriously good car IMO - the best luxury convertible you can buy.
  18. Looks about as shapely as a bar of soap. I can see the thing depreciating just standing there. I'd love a drive in it though.
  19. That's a knockout Fortis. You've got some architect.
  20. I haven't seen an SLR in the metal, but they look great in pics. What mystifies me is why they get only ordinary press. Why is that?
  21. Very nice but is it time for a new handle, dude?
  22. These guys agree with you..... http://geo.channel4.com/4car/rt/ferrari/430/2522/3
