  1. That is Steve Anderson's car. The plate reads "PURE70S" The other Ralph
  2. Would you mind posting the LP400 picture(s) he sent you? I would like to see them if possible. Thanks and best of luck in your search for a real seller. Best regards, Ralph
  3. A tastefully done, nice car like that deserves two 6 cyclinder engines in it. Maybe one Ford and one Chevy!!!!! Even if you gold plate a turd, it's still a turd............
  4. I will confess to a similar situation. When I was selling my 246GT some years back, I had an offer from Japan. I accepted a slightly lower offer from a gentleman in Texas and the car stayed in the USA. It went to a nice guy and was his first Ferrari. There's always the chance I may want it back someday anyway.... The Other Ralph
  5. I do watch and try to keep track of them. They have been few and far between for some time now. The Other Ralph
  6. You are correct on the sale price of a recent Miura S. If it's the same one I know of? It was originally owned by someone notable, was exceptionally correct and a low low mileage car. The Other Ralph Ralph !!!!!! Hey whats up ? You are a marked man. You better watch out when you take the garbage out at night . I know what you look like  We all know what your "car" looks like :prayer: :prayer: . It should be not be tooo difficult to put together a heist ? Anyone know how long cement loafers take to dry ? Maurio or Alfredo will take care of everything :snipe: :saw !! I have warned our guard dog and she is "ALL EARS" waiting and watching. So Maurio & Alfredo, catch me if you can... Don't worry Ralph. If I use it as an escape vehicle? I will take it easy until the motor is completely broken in!!! The Other Ralph

  8. well i wouldn't go for a 348, they are near less appealing F car ever, in italy is difficult to sell a 348, even for less money than a 308, just a suggest if you want a ferrari the BB is the car for you european value for good boxers are: 365- 70000-80000 euro 512-65000-70000 euro BBi -60000-65000 euro In the US the BBi is slightly more money, than the 512BB. In California a BB with the BAR sticker may command more money. Most people prefer the refined BBi. The 365 is kinda like the LP400, to some degree. It is very rare in the US. It probably comes down to, how badly do you want the car (for the superb cars) ? Goliath: I would purchase whatever car you really want; if you are only going to buy just one car. A BB/BBi is not going to be significantly less money to maintain vs a Countach. In other words the BB/BBi, will not be cheap to maintain either. It sound like you want a Countach, but have reservations with the maintainance. The horror stories about the clutch ? The clutch can be protected. Can you go your entire life without a Countach ? I agree with Ralph on the maintenance. They are comparable. I am fortunate to care for my own vehicles. They are 12 cylinder cars and 30ish years old. Find the nicest car you can afford, save a little for the unexpected and have an enjoyable time. I, like Mr. Koslin also own both. I have a 74 LP400 and a 78 BB512. They are completely different cars. If at all possible try both before you decide. You might be surprised which one appeals to "you" the most. Many Countach's have sat a lot over the years, as there seems to be some fear factor regarding them. A number of Boxers on the other hand have been driven quite a lot. Take it easy pulling away from lights and the clutches will be fine in both. If you find a possible purchase I cannot stress enough "Pre-Purchase Inspection". Find a shop now that you feel good about. Let them know you are actively looking for a car and would like them to assist. I say this, as some shops will work on certain makes but not others. Each car is the ultimate of their marques for its day and I'm sure you will be thrilled with either. I'll look forward to your posting pictures when you find one. Best wishes, The Other Ralph
  9. You are correct, that "was" Joe Sackey's car. He bought it from a Dr. friend of mine who was the original owner. It is now owned by someone in the UK. I have never taken my LP400 to Crystal Cove but I have driven my blue BB512 there. The other Ralph
  10. Ralfabco, I'm looking forward to seeing you in Monterey. What are you bringing? I'm driving the Boxer up and enjoying a nice relaxing trip this year. The LP400 is staying home, so I guess we'll have to wait on the race PM me. The Countach is going out tomorrow for a photo shoot. I'll look forward to meeting other Lambo-Power folks also. If you see someone with an LP400 shirt on, it's probably me. So please introduce yourself. The Other Ralph
  11. Couldn't agree with you more on that one my friend. I just love it when people come up to me at gas stations and such and tell me what my car can and can't do ! My favorite is, "What kind of milage do you get"?
  12. I have worked on numerous Lambo motors and there are huge variations in the tolerances of components. I've seen connecting rod sets that the weights of each rod were so different, the crank balancer swore we mixed motor parts. I've seen cam shafts that were ground so differently bank to bank that we could not degree in the cams any better than the stock markings. Very low mileage cars with up to .005 stem clearance on the valves. There are so many thing that can detract from peak power. These types of variations wil have a big impact on performance. It cannot be more true of a statement than each car will perform differently. A good service/tuneup will not change the affects of motors with some of the above issues or others. I've personally worked on every model of Countach from an LP400 thru an Anniversary. I do own an LP400 and have for 20 years. The Other Ralph
  13. Ralph, Congrats on the Countach. I know how much you wanted another one. We need to see a picture of the garage now with them sitting in a row or fill your driveway!!! Just a quick photo of your wonderful cars for all of us to admire. Best wishes, The Other Ralph
  14. I have a extra set of new ones. Email me, I'm in So. Calif. Ralph
  15. Originally I planned to paint my car black as I think they look great. I then spent some time in a blk 5000S programming a fuel injection unit one summer. I decided it was a bit too warm in there for my liking. But I still think it is a spectacular color of a Countach and yours looks great!!
  16. Why is that too much? I'm curious. Perhaps I will be viewed as bias as I have one. But what are they worth? A Muira SV is selling in the 400K range and no one questions it other than wishing they had gotten theirs before it happened. They made roughly the same number (150) SV's as they did LP400's. Is the Muira a superior car? Was it more of a design statement in it's day than the LP400 was in its? I'm curious as to what is too much for an exceptional example? I do not know the Yellow car or its history. It appears to be a nice car from the pictures so where is the value defined or denied? The first few LP400 are unique in themselves having thin bodies, lots of magnesium components and adjustable Koni shocks. They were an all out effort at performance. I would love to hear the reason why this yellow car is over priced. Looking forward to your reply. Best regards, Ralph
