  1. Uk owner has just posted on a uk site to say his first service cost 13k sterling. He also needed tyres which cost......£6.5k each for rears and £5.5k for fronts. So that it £24k on rubber as he needed all 4 replacing. He also said that when new the tyres had 7mm of tread depth. The new replacements have a mere 5mm, so he will be back even sooner.....i find it astonishing!
  2. There is nothing wrong with the F1's gearbox, it will handle a large mileage if serviced correctly.
  3. Sorry for the delay in getting back....unfortunatly the car sold!It was a black on black 84 car with 29k miles. I nearly bought the car in 98 from lambo uk when it was part of afn porsche in reading...but buying a house with my then girlfriend put a delay on it.It was quite a thing to see the exact same car for sale again and with only another 3k miles on it.The guys at eurospares knew the car, and it appeared in classic and sportscar a number of years ago...still keep looking for something! Thanks for the replies, the only part i found would be difficult to find (trim apart) was apparantly the shocks. I have to content myself with the white one driven by phil collins now my miami vice dvd collection has arrived!beautiful exhaust note!
  4. Seriously thinking of buying an 84 jalpa. One thing worrying me is parts,or the potential unavailability.Just wondered if anyone can advise as to the parts situation? Are there any pitfalls at service time?i know it has a chain instead of belts, but does it need valve clearances doing every so often? Any help from past or present owners would be a help to make me make a decision. The car is in good condition, sodium valves have been replaced...i think shocks and brakes are also new. Hoping to view the car in the next week.
  5. I have seen that car! if i remember it was a lot of euro's something like 160,000? white on white and no wing about 10000km?
  6. You guys are very lucky...you have achieved the dream.Nearest i came to lambo ownership was a test drive in a 84 black/black jalpa at the uk concessionaire...but bottled it and bought a 328, just sold that and saving for something!Had to share my countach experience though...basically car mad, as has been mentioned before cannonball and gumball had a big effect on my youth.I still have car magazines from when i was 4-better than the beano or dandy thats for sure. Anyway i had never even seen a lamborghini of any description in the flesh-that is part of the attraction-they are so rare and even more so in the late 70's. Anyway mum and dad took me age 6 to london in the back of an austin allegro-a bigger pile of crap you could not imagine-it was dads company car....i remember walking near harrods in the pitch dark about 6 at night and i heard it! I could see a set of lights in the distance-it was something special from the engine note..and then blam! it was past well over the speed limit brake lights glowing like mad at a set of traffic lights about 100m away.Countach! bright yellow...i just remember standing there staring at those tail lights, mouth wide open...its like seeing a kind of mythical beast.i could not believe i had just seen one...it still haunts me that memory more than any murci or enzo ever will.Enjoy your cars you guys there are plenty of people out there now mid 30's for whom the countach is THE car
  7. Noticed my favourite lambo for sale at the official ferrari dealer in toulouse...white on white 5000qv with rear wing. For some reason there are no pictures on the web, only classic and sportscar. The car is ex keke rosberg so it shows some f1 drivers have taste!Do you guys think having an f1 driver as a previous owner is a good or bad thing?? Man i would love that car....just need to rob a few banks.......
