I highly recommend this book, I just got through reading this book, cover to cover in about 5 days. Some great information in it, not only about the technical aspects of Presidential protection, but also alot of really good background info on the Presidents private lives dating back to Kennedy!

IMO its become popular in our culture as of late to vilify and condemn the Police and others who protect us on a daily basis. On the other hand, when one of said protectors is killed in the line of duty, the American public tends to do a very good job of honoring the fallen. There are plenty of places on the internet where hatin on the Po-lice is a daily occurance, lets try to make L/P a place where we can give as much support as we can to the people who are willing to risk their lives every day for a very small paycheck!

Thats why I asked, I seem to remember a thread a while back where you discussed CCW at length. If I remember right the O.C. sheriff had denied or canceled some CCW's or something....But thanks for your help on this, I'm planning on moving to the Hollywood/Beverly Hills area...

I am curious, because I'm planning on moving to California in the near future. The ability to conceal carry actually does weigh into my decision about moving there. Here in Kansas, I had to take an 8 hour class, take a test, and pay the multiple fees to the county sheriff. And of course the obligatory fingerprinting and photo in the sheriffs database Is california more intensive? I'm willing to endure whatever is necessary to keep my CCW!
