  1. The engine on my friend's 2005 G suddenly cut out while he was driving at about 90 MPH. Thankfully he was able to pull over with no incident. The CEL light came on. Anyone have a clue as to what may be the problem?
  2. Have a barely used Original Factory Gallardo SE Indoor Car Cover for sale. Its in excellent "as new" condition. Will sell to highest offer.
  3. Can anyone photoshop this in black metallic?
  4. Going to close on a metallic black/red one this week. The car is a visual stunner. Not looking for all out performance from this car, so I think I'll be happy with its true GT nature. Only concern is the life of the F1 clutch, as its the same in the 599 and I've "heard" some things about it lasting only 10-15k miles. Anybody know the story on this? Also, looking to do a PPI on the car. Anyone know a good shop who know Masers in the Miami area? Will post pictures when its in my garage.
  5. Anyone know of a good shop in S Florida to do mods, hidden radar installs etc?
  6. Right around $100k. The car needs nothing and has everything on it that we Lambopower people want!
  7. Have too many cars and just not using my G much anymore. Would sell it for a reasonable price. This is a "no story" MINT CONDITION beauty with 11,700 adult driven miles. Silver with black interior (with silver contrast stitching), rare 6-Spd Manual. Fully loaded including Clear Engine Cover, Navigation, Rear Camera, Front Lift, etc. Additional dealer installed Larini Exhaust (sounds amazing!), Built-in Front and Rear K-40 and Radar Jammer, 3-M Clear on Full Hood, Front Fenders and Side Mirrors. Dealer Serviced and 4 new tires within past month. New Optima Battery. Car is located in South Florida. Have many pics available. Serious offers only please.
  8. I have a MINT perfect 2005 Silver 6-Spd Manual with Black interior (with silver contrast stitching). This is a "no story" adult driven car with only 11,700 miles. Every option including Clear Bonnet, Rear Camera, Navigation, etc. Additional dealer installed Larini Exhaust, Built-in Front and Rear K-40, Radar Jammer, 3-M Clear on Full Hood, Front Fenders and Side Mirrors. Factory service and 4 new tires last month and new Optima battery. Please, no low-ball offers. Don't need to sell the car but, just don't use it much anymore as I have several other cars. Would like to see it go to someone who would use it more regularly. Car is in South Florida. Have pics.
  9. Driving my 2005 G on the highway today, noticed a new strange noise coming from the dash area. Its like a tinny sounding buzz that only appears when I'm on the throttle. Literally, when I take my foot off it goes away and even when I touch the throttle lightly it comes back again. Did this repeatedly with the same results. Anyone with an idea of what it may be?
  10. And Lamborghini/Audi don't have the capability for their $200k+ cars to read more accurately because...???
  11. Thanks for your comments. I read your post and decided to go with the Hankooks. Read a lot of reviews on them, spoke to the folks at Tire Rack who confirmed that for my type of driving, the Hankooks are MORE than adequate. Don't understand comments about sacrificing "safety" by going with these tires versus the ridiculously overpriced Pirellis. If I was interested in driving at 10/10ths, I'd spend the extra bucks (and not care about the 4-5k mileage wearout) for the bit of extra grip for sure. But for driving on 95 and local roads around S Florida, its totally overkill. Kind of like putting in 100 105 octane fuel in a commuter car programmed to run on 87. I'll save the $800 difference towards my upcoming 15k mile service
  12. Thanks man. Going to check to see if the Hankooks are within this range. Heard bad problems to the VT if the overall diameter is much off stock.
  13. Anybody know the circumference of the Hankooks and the Pirelli OEMs?
  14. Time to replace the tires on my 2005 G. I've read the various posts here about tire options, but most talk about getting the most performance, no matter the $$ or low wear rating. While I definitely respect the enthusiast's desire for ultimate performance, I don't drive the hell out of my G. Just a nice ride for me (with occasional bursts!). Plus, I'm in S Florida, where it now rains just about every day, so I'd rather have a nice "all weather" tire than a high performance "Summer" tire. Anybody have any experience with the Hankooks? Any other low cost/high wear tire to recommend. I have a concern with the circumference, as I've read here that a slight difference from OEM could cause issues with the diff? Appreciate any input
  15. Got the story on why they discontinued the MC Shift on the S model in 2010. A dealer said that, as the MC shift is essentially the same as the Ferrari's and the 4.7 L engine was close as well, they were losing Ferrari sales to the far less expensive Maserati in the US market. Sounds a little wonky, as I can't imagine that they are the same buyer, but I guess its kinda like all us G owners who were a little pissed that Audi came out with at "rebodied" G (the R8/R10) for far less than the cost of the G! Interesting though, you can get the MC Shift S model most everywhere else in the world. My only problem is finding the color combo I like. Anyone know of an either Blue, Dark Grey or Black model with a dark or light tan interior? Seeing a lot of black or red interiors... not for me.
  16. Thanks. Looking to get $105k for it. I can send you pics if you're interested.
  17. Anybody have any real world experience with these cars? Hear they are much improved over the 4.2L model. Giving up my G cause I need a back seat and frankly, not in need of Lambo-like brutal speed anymore. Also, will probably get a 2009, as for some odd reason, they stopped offering the F1 trans in the U.S in 2010. Thanks for any input.
  18. At a point in life where I need a back seat! Looking to sell my pride and joy and figured I'd put it here first, to folks who love these cars the most! 2005 6 Spd, 11,000 miles, Silver, Black interior with Silver contrast stitching, all options including glass bonnet, Nav, Front Lift, CD Changer, Car Cover, etc. Also dealer installed Larini Exhaust, Rear Camera, Concealed K-40 front & rear, Radar Jammer and 3M. This car is in pristine condition, adult owned, never raced/abused, garaged stored, dealer maintained and no accidents, nicks, etc. Looks and smells like new! This is a gorgeous "no excuse" car that needs a new home. Car is in S. Florida. Contact me with a sensible offer.
  19. Thanks. I assume you are talking about the trans oil change, right? How much for the engine oil and filter change?
  20. What should it cost to change the trans oli on a 2005 G? How much for an oil and filter change? Thanks
  21. Would like to see what would happen if the GTR driver was signaling the race. You seem to get an unfair jump on him because of the natural delay in his reaction time to your honking.
  22. Just wondering if the owner of a nice Yellow G I saw on 95 South near Boca this past Saturday is a member on this site. Mine is Silver. Would have run with you a bit, but I had a chick following me home in a Denali. Turned out to be a psycho babe. Would have been more fun running at speed with you dude!
  23. Hey man, appreciate your response and excellent pics, but no need for the 'tude. You may in fact be the expert on batteries on this site, but with a number of other well informed users reporting success with other options besides the Red Top Optima (including Heffner with the Yellow) and not knowing you personally, it does get a bit confusing. Read every post on batteries and just trying to make the best decision. With this out of the way, I totally agree that Optima is best because of the "no free-acid" design. Red Top versus Yellow Top seems to be a matter of ultimate cranking power (Red) versus the ability to recharge the battery numerous times if its been discharged (and yes, I realize that the Yellow is primarily recommended for applications where you have heavy loads such as winches,, high power audio, etc). While I do use a tender, there are times where I am traveling for a month and don't like leaving the tender unattended for so long (many have expressed the same concern). So, concerned that I may have times where the battery will become discharged, I'm leaning towards the Yellow Top, versus the slightly greater cranking power of the Red. Curious as to why you prefer the Red over the recharge option of the Yellow. As for venting, agree that the battery location is not a totally sealed environment (such as a trunk, where owners of other makes sometimes install batteries in moded applications, in which venting appears to be necessary). If as you state, that not even the OEM Faam needs to be vented, than why does Lambo bother installing vent tubes? From what I've read on other sites on this issue, its seems to be a "better safe than sorry" situation. Again, would appreciate your comments on this. Finally, when removing the trunk well, I noticed a black plastic piece directly over the battery, secured with one screw in the front and cable ties to the rear. Haven't read any posts mentioning such a piece. Removed it rather easily, but can't figure out its function. Did you notice this piece in your G and if so, what the heck is it for? Thanks.
  24. Been doing a LOT of research on the subject, because a) safety the "need" for our group to find the best solution for the replacement issue, especially with early G's starting to come to the end of their battery life expectancy. Haven't checked out the Autozone unit you refer to, but assume that the fit works. I've been focusing on Optima, since a number of members have used them and Heffner recommends them as well. And, for those of us who don't use their wheels on a regular basis, the Yellow Top series seems to be the better bet over the Red Top series. Slightly less cranking power, but the advantage of being able to handle multiple recharges. Key factor with these batteries are their unique, completely sealed and maintenance free design (no "free acid"). According to Optima, these batteries "do not vent gasses under normal operation" (abnormal operation appears to be when the batteries become overcharged, in which case a relief valve does release some gas). From what I'm learning, standard design batteries do release gas during operation. When the battery is mounted in the more typical location (in the engine bay of a front-mounted engine car), there is plenty of free flowing air to naturally vent gasses. The problem seems to be in the battery location of our Gs, which is why Lambo installed vent tubes. So, it seems that venting thru the standard tubes is probably the safest best...even with the Optima units since they CAN emit gasses in extreme cases. I'm planning on writing up a full report once I finish my due diligence and install the new battery.
