Anyone use this?

I have given up on the SSBOX and my car. It just isn't working. The local shop wants to go witht he e-manage ultimate. They said if they cannot get it working, then it would be no charge.

Thoughts?

I used the emanage with my old Stealth TT. It was a good unit, just not the easiest to tune for the weekend tuner.

But $ for $ it is probably one of the top piggy-back units, and as close to an AEM or motec as piggy-backs get.

I find it funny seeing this product on a L-Power board. Greddy E-manage and E-manage Ultimate are great units and we have dyno tuned with them in the past. Fast and easy, but we will always stick to the HKS F-Con if we can.

GOOD JOB WITH GOING ON THE AEM.......I have a 800hp 300zx and absolutely hate my E-manage. the problem was that the E-manage fights the computer, no matter what. I have a JWT chip that really should do most the work and is the basis and the emanage is to kind of "fine-tune" everything. It is a piece of junk.....the idle has never been correct. Hands down AEM wins with now prooblem. sure you have to pay more but its one thing.....the more shit to go wrong it a car, the worse you are.....thats my philosophy and it has ALWAYS worked.......

ps SP swears by the emanage so maybe my company of Z specialists all are complete morons...I just hope thats not the case. I use Z FEVER in FL

The emanage will NEVER be as good as a true standalone...actually, no piggy-back system will. They all fight with the computer.

However, it is one of the top piggy-backs out there. It is between it and the HKS unit. AFC's are very dated and don't have near the control.

As for the z32, I have always heard those are pretty hard to tune. Now, if you have a chip AND and an emanage, I think they would conflict. I would remove the chip and only tune with the emanage. Although, with the amount of power you are putting out, and the size injectors you probably require, I'd get a standalone.

TOTALY would have gone with the AEM along time ago (2 years) but the stupid thing hadn't come out yet for my car. I love the supra though, It was my second car. I sold a VOLVO cross country for it. Then 3 months later this stupid little girl smashed into me when I was practically parked in a parking lot, I was like at 3 mph. ITwas a sad day.....now after that I went to the Z. It is a bitch of a car to tune. IN FACT many have said it is the hardest of all those cars i.e....vr4/GTO, 300, supra (easiest) ....skiyline was also a competitor back then. Well hope all is well and VIVA TRUE STAND ALONES!!!!!!!!! UP WITH HOPE.....DOWN WITH PIGGY BACK CRAP!! :partyman:

Because we use it continually on every high HP car we build. Our tuners are very very familiar with the software. To them, it's just so easy to plug in the laptop, and get the ball rolling. Any car can be tuned within 2-5 hours, just depending on the setup. Different gas tuning, low boost setting, MAX HP setting, etc. etc. Same thing with our Skyline GT-R. We have different tuning maps depending on what are plans are for the car.

The HKS F-CON V-Pro is one of the very best engine management systems available. It can be used as a piggy-back or standalone depending on the car or its intended use. I have it on my Supra and it is, undoubtedly, the best EMS I've had on my car. I highly recommend it without any reservation whatsoever. EVERY AEM owner I've taken for a ride in my car (three to date) has switched to the V-Pro.

Besides the above, SP Engineering built my car and in Alex, Hiro and Jason, they have more V-Pro tuning experience than any other shop in the country. Hiro, by himself, has more experience than all the others combined. That said, Obiwan, is an excellent V-Pro tuner and does great work. He is highly recommended also.

Sorry to bump up an old thread, but I just researched the f-con a bit and found the prices to be right up there with an AEM, which was a surprise because I was under the assumption that it was just a piggy back like the E-Manage. In what situations would you use a F-con for a piggyback when you can just use an AEM, or even an F-con as the standalone? A rare car that doesn't have a readily available stand-alone perhaps say a 355 or G-car?
