Craig Report post Posted April 3, 2007 I just bought a 2001 Diablo 6.0 here in the UK which has a short ratio gearbox option. Does anyone know if this was a rare option on the 6.0? (I know it was popoular on the SV) thanks Craig
Craig Report post Posted April 3, 2007 It was standard on the 6.0 SE, BUT was an option order for all other 6.0 units.. IT also carries a different VT gearing and shaft as well... thanks - interesting info Craig

gday Report post Posted April 3, 2007 I thought the ratio change/option only effected the final drive.... -mick

The 225 number doesn't seem right. 208 is the commonly quoted top speed of a standard ratio Diablo 6.0 and a shorter final drive will lower that number somewhat. -mick
abolfaz Report post Posted April 4, 2007 The short ratio gearbox is for this 6.0...

I think it all comes down to the final drive, something like 0.68 vs 0.69, if my memory is correct
Dan Ciezniewzki Report post Posted April 4, 2007 these two sources say different things: dunno, just thought I might contribute with some data. http://www.lambocars.com/dia/dia60s.htm from the quoted link above I found this: Top speed : 335 Km/h (208 Mph) 359 Km/h with the optional gear settings (225 Mph)
Dan Ciezniewzki Report post Posted April 4, 2007 found this there too Type : Lamborghini five-speed + reverse manual all-synchromesh, ZF final drive with limited-slip differential Clutch : Dry-single plate, hydraulically operated Disc diameter : 254 mm (10 in) 1st gear ratio : 2.31:1 Max. speed : 98.2 Km/h (61 Mph) 2nd gear ratio : 1.52:1 Max. speed : 149.1 Km/h (93 Mph) 3rd gear ratio : 1.12:1 Max. speed : 202 Km/h (125.5 Mph) 4th gear ratio : 0.88:1 Max. speed : 255.6 Km/h (159 Mph) 5th gear ratio : 0.68:1 (0.694:1 optional) Max. speed : 335 Km/h (208 Mph) Rev. gear ratio : 2.12:1 Max. speed : 106.8 Km/h Front transfer ratio : 1:0.81 Rear transfer ratio : 1:1.619 I WIN!! wheres my cookie
gday Report post Posted April 4, 2007 Top speed : 335 Km/h (208 Mph) 359 Km/h with the optional gear settings (225 Mph) 5th gear ratio : 0.68:1 Max. speed : 335 Km/h (208 Mph) (0.694:1 optional) I would not rely on those numbers - and they are in conflict with themselves. There are a number of specifications noted at that site that are incorrect. The top speed number of 208 is quoted against the "standard" 5th gear ratio of 0.68.1 The optional 5th gear ratio is quoted as being shorter (0.694.1) and thus cannot end up with a higher top speed. I don't know what numbers (ratio vs speed) are wrong but something is. -mick

Thats radar, not the speedo. With the speedo you need to be doing roughly 220 to break
