Kevin2772 Report post Posted October 7, 2008 The GTR has an upper limit of 600hp + or - 20hp, the main problem holding up mods is the weak transmission. Getting the GTR over 600hp would require a new transmission, new exhaust, new turbo, intake, injectors, and upgraded inter cooler. I dont think any of the tuning shops have gotten over 650hp, I think the highest time is very very close to the 600hp mark. Would you think that Nissan put a weaker tranny in the car on purpose for fact of trying to defeat those that want to tune these cars to high hp levels? A stronger tranny may have cost alot more and they were trying to keep costs down to keep target msrp? Gone are the days of the overbuilt Japanese supercars of the 90's it seems. bummer.
