tach works speedo doesn't

Thanks for the input.

I lifted the car and looked at the driver's rear. There is a brake wear sensor and what must be the ABS sensor on the other side of the caliper.

Everything seems intact. There is nothing hanging from the trans. In front of the drive shaft on the trans is a black, round thing with a cable coming out. The speedo sensor? It seemed intact.

I guess I'll just bring it in to the dealer. I would snap a cable back on a sensor, but it doesn't seem obvious to me where the problem is.

The left/front abs wheel speed sensor supplys signal for abs/esp speedo and the wing. Could be bad sensor phonic wheel, wires, or ecu. I would have to test to tell you which one is bad.

I had the exact same problem recently, and it was the wire between the ECU and front left ABS sensor :)
